What did you do airgun related today.

That should be able to shoot 16 grain Zans ( and other ) very nice, but it will probably not be super cool with the 3 heavier weights 20 - 22 - 24 grain
for that you would need the new 1:16 liner, that Viking airgunner seem to have good luck with at least in regard to 20 grainers.

I like shooting 10 grain slugs, i do so even out to 120 yards, but 13 and 16 are more precise in my Epic Two rifle.
10 grain make little mice almost split in 2, rats drop like a stone, and i have even dropped a pheasant at 50 Yards like a stone too, its 2 friends a few feet from it did not even notice it, they just wandered off into the tall grass a few minutes later.

At 120 Yards, a couple or 3 16 grain zans landing pretty much in the same place, will make a hole in a stainless steel kitchen sink
I would have liked the 1:16 liner but couldnt find it anywhere.

I learned about the importance of harmonics in tuning today. Been struggling to get my Impact m3 completely dialed in, but today a light bulb 💡 went off and I tuned my gun for the first time based on harmonics and it’s performing amazingly. What a fun/educational journey it’s been!!

So today I made another post so that I can reach the goal of being able to reply in the classifieds, so I can find a new to me PCP!
What are your interests . plinking in the yard ? paper targets ? pesting ? nice if you show up every day ? that's a nice way to get your 10 days in .

Harmonics enlightened me. OldVet wants to know. I'm not ashamed to learn.

what?! What a strange form of communication you have here. Are you saying you already know, or are you saying you want to learn??
I’m guessing that like me, he’d like some enlightenment as to your methodology. I’m a dry sponge when it comes to tuning these things.

I made a post about it in the PCP section, but I can give you a quick rundown here. And @OldVet I’ll tag you as well so you can see it.

I’ve been learning everything about air guns from scratch this year and have been trying to tune my guns to shoot at my desired speeds. I would pick a speed that I wanted to shoot at and then basically tune the gun from the ground up to achieve that speed. There is a few problems doing that way one is that there’s multiple ways to achieve the same speed depending on your gun. You can go with a higher regulator setting and a softer hammer strike, or you can go with a lower regulator pressure and a hard hammer strike, both can achieve the same speed, but the air delivery will be slightly different for each.

That being said I did some research on the pellet I was shooting to find out what speeds it shoots best at. I determined that I wanted to be somewhere between 825 and 925 fps. I tuned my gun to give me a peak velocity of roughly 925 ft./s from there. I shot three shot groups while decreasing my hammer one click at a time. That process may be different on your guns, but essentially you can decrease the hammer and fire three shot groups and note how tight the groups are.

As an example I shot three shots at my peak velocity setting and then dialed back my hammer and took three more shots. I kept taking three shot groups while backing off on my hammer, noting how tight the groups were at each setting.

Once I found the setting that gave me the tightest most consistent groups I pecked around that speed to see if I could further increase the accuracy. I really fine tuned my gun around the speed that gave me the best accuracy instead of trying to make the gun accurate at the speed I predetermined. I let the gun tell me what speed to shoot it at.

There’s also a great video from Matt Dubber where he explains gun harmonics, but I can’t find the link to that video. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

I'm sorry I did not mean to be so confusing. What I should have written was. Can you please teach me about harmonics tuning. And you did send a video thanks.
