My stepdaughter came along with me today to give me a hand getting my Mordax sighted in and to take the chronometer readings. It was way crowded at the range so we went to the river instead. Much nicer! Lovely day out today.
I got it sighted in at 25 yards for now and its a straight shooter.
You can see I had to add a rubber band mod to the extra magazine holder in the stock extender. It holds the magazines ok but if you bump it hard enough the magazine will pop out leaving its lid behind and dump out pellets. Might be room for a little design improvement there. You can also see my cheap little chronometer, but it did the trick. The inexpensive reflex sight from Amazon works well too.
For getting the chrono, I used the 3 kinds of projectiles I have on hand: 44.75gr JSB Diabolo Hades, 50.15gr JSB Diabolo Exact, and some 60.80gr Rifle Slug Series slugs. I started each magazine at 250 bar, the line between the green and the yellow section of the pressure gauge.
It looks like it likes those Hades pellets a lot which is good because so do I. The readings I got are right in line for factory settings from the chart in the handbook. I'm pretty happy where it is set now for the time being. Later I'll see what sort of energy I can get with it turned up, but I wouldn't be surprised for it to be close to what Western's chart suggests. I am really happy with this gun. Its so light, and I can easily get small game and big birds with it. Full auto is awesome too.
