What springer did you shoot today?

We listened to branches and trees breaking for 3 days straight and lived for three days without electricity and said to hell with it. Moved south an hour and a half to Clare and holed up in the Doherty Hotel . Gaylord Michigan looks like a hurricane went through destroying all the trees. We will return when the power is restored and start the long process of cleaning up our home and neighborhood.
You must of got the same strorm. Still no power here.
My generator can run apparently for 200 hours. I’m good till this Monday. Wednesday, went out and scored filters and oil to do a few oil changes. Good luck. Crow

Thanks Crow.
The motivation to get it done is what you bring! 👍
Thanks. I’ve cut more trees than most. This time I cut only 12 and they were all nasty when they’re leaning with big time weight on top. Every tree I cut was snapped but still had pressure on them. Sometimes unpredictable.I had one 8 in. trunk fly over my head and drop beside me. And I thought that I was careful.
My buddies range will next cut. Good luck Crow

Picked up a full length TX in .22, so gave it a little service and set up over chrony.

Hoping to scope her up tomorrow....

storm over for today , lake up 23.11 feet (that is a lot of water ) 10,100 acres . Only small trigs down in the yard here .
Just home from MRI on my knee to see what's up ?
Still windy out , have to shoot my high power guns HW97 and 77 both under 12 FPE . The 77 is 11.8 FPE and the 97 is 11.6 , wish they were both 9.5 FPE .

Just got power back today. Lots of chainsaw work and brush hauling to do. The entire area has just been decimated. I’ve been in ice storms before but I’ve never seen anything near this bad

Lucky. There was an ice storm 20+ yrs. ago everyone remembers. Child’s play to this one.
I figured I was good till Wednesday for propane. Checked, I be lucky to see Sun. It would run out. . I have a torpedo. Called to get fill, didn’t look good. Had to pay $275. for emergency delivery, tomorrow.
Tonite, is one week no power and I’m guessing another week.
I’m going to clean up when the ground dries. Good luck. Crow

Good luck to you sir. Praying you get power back sooner than later.

What are you considering for glass? John
Hi John,
Got a few options on the shelf. Generally stick a sidewinder on for testing (6.5-20, to see what the gun can really do) but ultimately it'll wear a fixed 4 or 6 mag 80's/90's Jap scope (Nikko/ Kasner/ N stirling or ASI).

Get alot of elbow pain these days, so can't see me using this TX for pesting (it is a weighty beast!), but.... if I were too.... my absolute favourite 'new' (ish) scope is the panamax 3-9x40 AO. Have tried most of the older N/S scopes (amoungst others) , and was never impressed, but the panamax range.....they're 👌. Love the fine cross hairs, and the glass punches well over its price range.....

I like the grain. I like the looks of the Hunter, but the TX I find easier to jack. I may sell my Hunters. Crow

It's just about impossible to find fault with the AA springers, from a shooters and tinkerers prospective (the design and finish are both superb), but.....there is no way I could use this TX as a day to day hunter.....my elbows just aren't up to taking the 4+ kg weight free standing/ unsupported anymore.

Truth is I swapped this TX for my HW80 with a mate (who was struggling with the TX's bulk) just to do him a favour. It's a pretty gun, and an engineering marvel, but will almost definitely end up as a cabinet queen in my collection 🤷‍♂️

My first thought was a Sidewinder…Wasn’t familiar with the Panamax scope…had to look it up. Looks nice and compact, good for loading access on the TX. Am going to a gunshow tomorrow…will be on the lookout for one..
Elbow pain sucks…not sure what’s causing yours, when I get it,I put one of those compression straps around my forearm..doesn’t make it disappear, but sure helps. Anyway….good luck with the new tool. Enjoy. John
