The rear diopter that came with the rifle had an internal lens with adjustable focus. I just couldn’t get it to work with my eyes. No matter how I tried to fine tune the focus it just wasn’t giving me consistency on target.

So I removed it in favor of a standard style with no internal lens. The top one is what I removed. Bottom one is what I installed along with the eye cup.

The 300S is an amazing rifle. Your targets are proof of that. For 10 meter plinking. I enjoy my 300S RB. It's probably the finest crafted airgun i own. It definitely outshoots my capabilities. Don't think I will ever part with it.

Beautiful gun and NICE shooting!

From the look of things you don't need much help, lol! But 2 cents from an old aperture sight fan: the secret to using the magnifying iris is realizing that the lens is not a panacea. The size of the aperture is still the main key to getting clear sight picture and best depth-of-field. You have to work the iris's aperture adjustment and lens focus back and forth, adjusting small bits at a time, to keep front sight and target both in focus in whatever light you have, and take best advantage of the bigger sight picture.

I tried to get a nice balance between the focus ring and the adjustable aperture but it didn’t work for my eyes for some reason. When I would fine tune for focus that was split between front sight ring and target, the front sight ring would have an ovalized shape which made it difficult for consistent target centering. If I adjusted the focus to clear that up then the target was way too fuzzy. The Iris size adjustment wasn’t helping with this.

With the plain rear diopter I can wear my glasses and get a nice focus on both front sight and target, and front ring remains perfectly round for easy centering.

Nice shooting Frank, and beautiful FWB SSP! I have my 603 with David Slade getting a rebuild.

I did stand for a few shots after I put the new diopter on. I wanted to make sure I could still see clearly in a standing position. I would need a lot more practice for the standing shots😂
