N/A Speak up Springer Shooters

I signed up for the Gunslyger Springer division. I think you shoot from a bench in that competition. I will watch HFT and see if I want to compete the following year. One thing is that the fees for each of the events are steep, especially for me, as I am assuming I will be one and done.
Once upon a time I entered a control line acrobatics contest and came in at 2nd place out of two pilots. 😁
When I got my trophy I was congratulated and I responded "yea great, last place", that's when the chief grabbed me and walked with me saying, "You beat a lot of people Harold" " you see those guys staring at you over there? They all fly here in your class, and didn't have the cahona's to enter to try beat you." "You beat every damn one of them."

You do shot from a bench but it's a speed competition. Who can knock the most critters down in so many seconds. Not benchrest.

Arizona EBR event has a 50 yd springer benchrest class. Its fun and a great group of people to shoot with. The class had fallen in popularity in say 2017 to 2019 but past the few years the class has filled up with plenty of people on the waitlist. Hopefully we will see more “spring up” (couldn’t resist) in the future. As to anyone waiting or contemplating entering a shoot of any discipline just go for it. I feel the amount you learn and experience gained in a competition setting is priceless.

I didn't know that. Guess it's time to start practicing again. Thanks for the info.

I would love to compete in something resembling Hunter Field Target in Finland. But I have been completely unable to find any such air gun competitions that aren’t just 10m.
Build and they shall come ! start simple a couple tables (rent) chairs , ANY targets . cans / empty shotgun shells , maybe 6 shells in a row at different distances . this is assuming you have the space or maybe someone else has ?

Well Beerthief I notmally agree with you on most everything but here is a true story. I started a springer benchrest match 2 years sgo once a month. I have had from 6 to 14 shooters, averaging about 10. Through this forum I have had roughly 15 inquiries, multiple phone conversasions with some, many promises I am coming.......to date not one of those have came. Despite offers to let them shot one of our guns if they feel undegunned, offers to meet them on a day prior to a match so they can try the indoor range, nothing seems to get them to give it a shot. So where did the 14 shooters come from. I recruited the first couple from guys I have shot other disciplines with over the years, then we found a group shooting about 40 miles away and went to shoot with them and they come shoot with us. But those who have seen the ads, match results, conversations on this forum, while curious they never show up. It seems the PvP shooter enjoy competing but the spring guys not so much. So maybe the folks running matches like the Pyrmid Air Match are aware the spring guys won't leave the back yard?
