DNT Zulus question.

So zeroed in the Zulus today, works like a charm. That said, the reticle is not centered in the scope, and the values in the zero profile show how far "off zero" I set them. Am I to understand that it doesn't really "zero" the scope, it just shifts it to the part of the screen corresponding to POI? I know that's technically what zeroing a scope does, but in optical scopes, it shifts the entire erector tube, so it still appears centered. This one kinda looks like part of the reticle is off screen. It's zeroed pretty close, and I will zero it further down, so should bring it up, but still feels like the reticle and the picture exist separately. Is that the case or am I missing something?

this thread should answer your question:

Thread 'Recticle position on digital/NV optics'

in short, having a off centered reticle at base magnification is a characteristic of the zulus optic. If the barrel on your rifle is indexable, this might be your best solution to get the reticle aligned horizontally. I have a thermnight tnc335r on a Dreamline compact, and I was able to get the reticle nearly centered by indexing the barrel with the 0moa mount.

You have to press and hold the left button and it should recenter and save.

It's exactly like a regular scope in principle of reticle movement. It's just more pronounced looking on a little square screen. Update your firmware , mine got some new features and smoothed out the zero look.

How do I update it?
You can use the dnt app or the arken app if it still works. Hidden in one of the menus is a check for updates option both for the app and the firmware. If you only know it as the dnt zulus you MAY be current on the firmware.

In reticle zero page if you have a tab for the alphabet, you're likely up to date as far as I know.

This optic is great and has so much potential, it's just been getting tripped up for it's entire existence. Arken wasn't ready for the customer service calls.

Eaglevision makes a Pard 108 moa adjustable base. It is super nice. I had one and loved it .. It adjust 108 moa up and down.. It also has right and left windage adjustiment.. It will center your screen perfect..I had to do the same thing for my sightmark wraith... The Zulus is same as Pard , it will bolt directly to eaglevision 108 moa base...

Interesting, an adjustable mount. How solid is it?

Real solid...My Texan .510 with 650 grain spire points has recoil thats eats up scopes and cheap mounting hardwarde.. The Pard 007 adjustable base worked perfect on my .510 with recoil ..It works great with day optical scopes to optically center.. It s really well made..
