Taipan 25 Caliber Taipan Vet 2 Standard

Hello, forum newbie here. I’ve been lurking here for a few years, since picking up a modified Benjamin Discovery in 22 caliber from a friend.

I’ve really enjoyed the freedom of using the disco for target shooting and pest control in the yard. For the last year or so I’ve been thinking of picking up another PCP. I recently sold a short range benchrest rifle that I wasn’t using much and dove down the rabbit hole of researching higher performance PCPs. My choices came down to a Huntsman Revere in 22 vs a Taipan Veteran. Two completely different styles, but they both had something that I was looking for in a rifle.

Many of you unknowingly steered be toward choosing the Taipan Veteran 2 Standard in 25 caliber. I felt like it checked the most boxes for me in how I will most use the rifle. On Monday I placed my order with Tony at Talon Tunes. Yesterday I received my shipping confirmation and tracking info and to say that I’m excited to get my hands on it would be a major understatement….lol.

I look forward to sharing my journey here on the forum.
AHH, we've entered the Taipan rabbit hole! This brand does not have the most followers, but it has the most dedicated followers. It usually takes about 2 months, but at first, you really like it, but then you get to the point of not ever envisioning yourself WITHOUT one. LOL!
I've bought several, and only sold one to buy a different model that suited me better or when getting a next gen version. There will always be Taipan in my stable.

That sounds eerily similar to my path with CZ center fire rifles. I bought my first one in 2017 and I was up to 5 when they dropped the 527 and 550 lines. I wouldn’t be surprised to see same thing happen with Taipan air rifles. I’m really enjoying the fact that I can shot at home without a 3 hour round trip drive to the range.

Thanks! I’ll check out those ASA 25.4s. I did grab one tin of JSB 33 Gr MKIIs with my initial order. So far it’s the only other 25 caliber pellet that I have on hand. I’ll let you know how they shoot when I get around to trying them out.
Sounds great. Probably have to crank up the hammer spring a bit. I've got 6 -25 caliber air rifles. 2 taipan vets, 2 hatsuns, 1 zelos and 1 kalibergun cricket carbine. I really like the caliber. Also have an average and kalibergun cricket tactical 60 in 22.

Don't even get me started on center fire. I have 53 pistols/ revolvers and can't recall how many center fire rifles as well as rimfire. 😆. Many years of shooting and acquiring them.
