HW/Weihrauch HW - Marksman Model 40 Air Rifle. Closest HW match is . . . ?

Recently bought a Marksman Model 40 because it was made by Weihrauch. It would be great, if someone could tell me which HW model is a match for the Marksman model 40. The model 40 has a 18.4 inch barrel, weighs 7 lb, 5 oz its .177. The rifle has the diabol pellets pictured on the left hand side between barrel and compression tube just like my HW30.
Rifle is pictured below if that helps. Thank you.

Randy, it's a variant of a BSF . That's why it has the screwed on rail.

As noted above, it's one of the rather fascinating guns made for a couple years after Weihrauch purchased the old BSF factory. It is a variant of the old HW 50 (DIFFERENT from the current gun called that), with a "Perfekt' trigger, BSF rear sight and scope rail, and rocking safety lever mounted on the right side of the receiver.

Many of these guns started with the "Perfekt" trigger...but graduated to the Rekord the next year!

Here's a page from a 1989-ish Marksman catalog showing the "NEW!" early model 40 😜 !

I really love these bsf/hw hybrids...I have a 2 55's, a 58 silhouette, a 59, and 2 70's. All but one 55 has the rekord trigger. I actually prefer the bsf safety over the hw one.

Hard to tell for sure but I think It's gotta' be an early one. I'm not seeing a Rekord trigger. If I'm not mistaken, that's a "Perfekt" trigger. I think that places it prior to 1955 as a date of manufacture. I'm no expert, however.
The "Perfekt" trigger is mounted in a modular box, very similar to the famous "Rekord" (they can actually be interchanged). It is somewhat simpler, with one less intermediate lever, and does not have a weight adjustment. It's still alive and well - though not seen much any more - and was used in cheaper versions of the HW 30 and original HW 50 for many years; the "Marksman model 40" in the OP's pics is from 1989 or so.

Early Weihrauchs had a variety of trigger designs before the "boxed" Perfekt and Rekord were developed in the late 1950's. Shown in this old thread from another forum:

100% correct!

I'm kinda surprised that Weihrauch collectors have not "discovered" these interesting hybrids! They are fascinating and rare guns.
