I cannot even remember how many folks I have hooked on airguns - Just by giving them loli-pop targets to shoot! Our favorite to date are Charms Mini-Pops.
Turn a new shooter loose on them and watch the smiles as they powder the pop tops. Give them 3-4 for the satisfaction, and then instruct "O.K., now after shooting the top you have to cut the stick before you move onto the next one." A look of surprise comes over their face "No way I can do that so far away." 1 or 2 or 3 shots later they have cut the stick, and they are now hooked!
An added bonus - If the wind is right you get that sweet sugar smell each time you powder one.
