Just went on amzon and bought the best super duper bug zapper racket. Been fighting these wood boring carpenter bees for years. I’ve fought them with brooms, harbor freight zapper racket , sprays that don’t work and here I am again on the roofed deck loosing. I’m sitting now having my third beer and it’s only 2:00. I have my Rexy rpa out and made a nice shot on a Starling at about 22 yards. Anyway was imagining a pistol with a smooth bore that shot like 12 shot that could kill these bees at about 10 ft. It would be a blast while relaxing on deck. I know about them salt guns but they won’t do it. They bore into the roof rafters.

Ever heard of bug a salt? You just use regular table salt to shoot whatever bug down

I would look up some videos first before doing anything. But one of the ones I remember watching, also mention the gun is only about 87 decibels loud on average, and that I would likely fare better with heavier lead, so 12 would probably help.

If you can find a Crosman 1100 Trap-Master it would do the job quite well. I had one with a sawed off barrel and it did a number on fruit-rats in the garage.

Maybe one of those Nerf type guns kids shoot those soft nerf darts but just glue some harder plastic on the end if needed?

A wrist rocket sling shot with a pinch of bird shot is super easy and shouldn't alarm neighbors if they see you shooting up into the air. I actually killed a few birds with one using #8 shot when I was a kid. Bird shot comes in 25 lb. bags and costs $70 each or 11 lb. bags on line for $48 each. That's a bit expensive but way more fun, probably cheaper and not as hazardous to your health as buying and spraying wasp spray at them. Definitely use #12 and DO wear safety glasses.

Maybe use rock salt instead of bird shot....I really like the wrist rocket idea!
