We held our Field Target match at the same Bat time, same Bat day that we do so every month, which happened to be a glorious Easter Sunday. Had attendance from the usual Hooligans, with some notable exceptions.
Sacramento Sam dipped into his artistic quiver and pulled out two clever "Faceplates" to highlight the special date- an Easter Basket and of course, the patron Lapine of the day- the Easter bunny.
To highlight those two special targets, we awarded double points to all competitors knocking down the unique targets. We also agreed to subtract double points for PCP shooters missing said targets. While the targets were fairly placed and had adequate KZ's, knowing you could lose 2 points for one shot can add a little pressure. Everyone escaped unharmed, so maybe the crucible was oversold.
The wind started north to south, but by mid match had reversed direction harder than a California Governor trying to fool all of the national Oprah Winfrey watchers. It made for lower scores than normal, especially if you factor in the additional "Free" 4 points on the table for the Easter bay. Besides the wind, the offhand lane was challenging but everyone shot the same lane.
All and all, a great time and the best part, we get to do it all over again next month!
