What did you do airgun related today.

Well. I worked on my new Karma Eq 30 cal. Redesigned the trigger guard to mount my arca rail. 3d printed 4 variations before I got the fit the way I wanted. Changed the pistol grib threads from M5 to 1/4x20. I've also been working a dual mag setup for my Zelos. Think I'm on my fifth 3d...

Soooo. The ups guy just tried to knock on my front door. I say tried because I met him at the door. 😆 This makes my second pcp.

    Umarex Zelos pics ..

That rail has an integrated arca rail with Mlok slots down the sides and bottom. I redesigned the trigger guard to provide a more rigid mounting point. The rail is 11.5 inch long from the back of the trigger guard to the end of the rail. This is the first machined prototype so a few things...

    Umarex Zelos arca rail

That's a fair point. It could definitely be done as another option. I've redesigned the trigger guard to provide a ridgid mounting point for the lower rail anyway so having a lower pic rail option wouldn't be difficult. Honestly, I hadn't even thought about a lower pic rail other than an mlok...

    Umarex Zelos arca rail

The lower rail in that photo has an Arca rail with Mlok slots on the sides and bottom. I figured if I wanted a pic rail along the bottom I could grab one meant to be mounted in the mlok slots. My plan is to utilize the mlok slots down the sides to mount the bipod legs in the photo.

    Umarex Zelos arca rail

I've been working on my Zelos ideas and designs for a few weeks now. I finally got some machine time this last weekend and got my barrel shroud done. Hopefully have the first prototype for the lower rail off the machine soon.

    Mini Lathe for Small Parts?

Not to hi-jack your thread. But a relic from the ol days of performing magic on worn out manual equipment. This old jewel has 4 inch of travel. Lol

    Mini Lathe for Small Parts?

@Rob_in_NC That looks like a good deal. Comes with a 3 jaw, 4 jaw, and a quick change tool post. As for the age of the machine I totally understand the concern. I would extend the quil of the tailstock and see how much wobble it has. I've seen them in really really bad shape before, but...

    Mini Lathe for Small Parts?

Well, that's definitely a packed space lol. Let me clarify and maybe expand on what I was saying. First, I apologize, often times my brain or thoughts out run my fingers so everything rumbling around up there doesn't come out. Anoys the hell out of my wife too. I was primarily thinking...

    Mini Lathe for Small Parts?

Look for a used Prusa mk3 or mk3+ on whatever market place you browse. I found my prusa Mk3+ for $375 on FB. Ask them to have it setup and tell them you would like to run a first layer test. They will either be happy to do it because it's a quick test and will help them off load it by proving...

    Mini Lathe for Small Parts?

Unfortunately in the world of machining the ol saying "You get what you pay for" is about as accurate as it gets. That being said, most people don't have the money to look at high end or even mid range equipment for a hobby to put in their garage. I started my machinist educational adventure...

    Mini Lathe for Small Parts?

If you're thinking Sherline size then you could also look at Taig. These two options are in the same desktop/toolbox size format.
