Stoeger How low can a PCP regulator be set

I'm at 30fpe now with an 18gr. I'm sure there is room to drop that and do both. I don't think tweaking the hammer spring is going to have enough effect though. The way all is set now, I'm pushing that 18gr pellet at just over 900 fps.

Can the hammer spring be adjusted to the point of not allowing any air? Are there any physical stops or will the screw just back all the way out? Can damage be done approaching full spring pressure or no spring pressure?

This was my first thought, and it would be the easiest. You think there is that much adjustment?

Stoeger How low can a PCP regulator be set

New PCP shooter with a Stoeger XM1 scout .22. I'm having a lot of fun with this guy but have been asked to help a friend out with pests in her barn. I'm wondering if there is a limit to just how low a regulator can be set on this carbine? I don't want to ventilate her barn and will be testing...

Stoeger Leaning to the XM1 Scout

Sorry to hear your situation. It does sound odd. My experience is very low with these so I have no info for you but I would second the advise to call Rich and see if he can figure it out. Let us know how things work out

Has anyone done much with .22 slugs with a scout? What are your experiences with these barrels, do they prefer .217" or .218"? I see some sample packs out there with regard to weight but I'm surprised that they don't include both diam in the trial pack.

Interesting, when mounting my optic, the rail and barrel appeared parallel and level to each other. At least according to my rough measurements.

Thank you for your generous offer Evolve 3D! I may take you up on it if needed. However right now accuracy and consistency are meeting my needs. If things change, I'll definitely keep it in mind. Thanks again!

quietlead I had an old Vortex strike eagle sittin around. I had to wait for the rings to show though. I think I found a good bang for the buck with the Discoveryopt 6061 rings on amazon to my door for $26 Congrats, you're gonna like it!

Thanks Perle that's a good looking piece. Does that one come completely apart or is it sealed? The Donnyfl site shows some replaceable baffle stacks but I haven't seen it spelled out if they are all that way or not?

Stoeger Leaning to the XM1 Scout

Was able to hand pump from a little under 18 bar back up to 22 bar. Didn't really take much effort. Looks like this will work to throw in pack and use wherever. Shooting between a fence and the house sounded pretty loud to me with my little experience. What moderators work well with the scout...

Gotcha, nope that lower tube is tight as well. Took me a while to figure out where that socket fits though, through that slip cover and around the tube pressure gage. Now to see just how hard it's gonna be to hand pump this thing.
