  • I almost gave up on my Chazsel .222 12 twist barrels for my condor builds..At first 55 grain and 45 grain arenal hitting sideways..I had the power turned up??Anyways bought some 36 .223 NSA slugs...They would stablize and only shoot on the low end ,,everything turned town 2500 psi..So for the heck of it I tried the 47 and 55 grain slugs..With everything turned down they are stablizeing..This valve has the power,,but anything super sonic crazy inaccuate and unstable.. Im learning..Getting a 9 twist .223 barrel soon!!!
Ahh all done rebuilding yong heng 8 th time...Couldnt sleep last night changed piston in a half hour..On the road again another 8-10 refils on my scba tanks....
    R
well the 8th piston didnt last..Brand new the piston rod broke almost instantly...Bad from manufacture..Took apart changed connecting rod..Working again..I need to upgrade air source soon!!!!!
Trying to muster up the courage to rebuild the old yong heng for the 8 th time in 3 years..I keep the tools to rebuild right beside compressor..No need to put away..lol .It usually needs a new piston after the 8-12 fill on scba tanks..IT costs30.00 for new piston gasket..30 min time to rebuild..So i guess its worth it...

There is definitely something wrong with your YH! I've got well over 100 hours on mine and I only blew out a 4500psi safety dusk (totally my fault, I used a used tampon that shredded, blocked the outlet).
Super happy to try some NSA 36 grain .223 slugs in my 12 twist chazsel barrels for my custom condor builds..I just shot one to see if i needed to size..AND super sonic...ill chronograph tomm..ill bet 1300 fps...ill try a subsonic amd super sonic load. fingers crossed i like something to go pa squirrel hunting with

Yes my Texan .510 is finally consistently accurate...Alteast 300-500 powder coated slugs shot through the barrel since last cleaning...My 3 hours of old school hand lead lapping my barrel payed off. I stated at 120 grit..My gun had to be cleaned every 3 rounds before for any kind of accuracy...The slugs i shot were strait otta NOE 4 cavity mold not sorted in any way..Powder Coated..And to boot very hard wheel weight lead from the 1970's and water quenched too..They are hard..But when sized properly to .510..They shoot just fine..I have 100% pure lead powder coated slugs and both shoot the same..I have about 150 lbs of the free wheel weight lead made into 450 and 630 grain hard lead cast slugs..It s really a waste shooting them at low speeds..Im sure that hard lead water quenched powder coated slugs would be fine up to 2500 fps..But they were just buckets of old nasty greasy wheel weights..Now beautiful accurate free .510 slugs..Powder coating almost free. 1 lb does alot of slugs...

I believe it. I've shot some Hornady Cowboy bullets that are obviously harder that airgun slugs and they shoot pretty well. Is it tough to clean all that gunk from the wheel weight lead? I'm wondering if you have to melt the lead multiple times to thoroughly clean it.
    R
Its pretty easy to clean the wheel weight lead..Just a cast iron dutch oven on a outdoor propane cook burners..Once the lead melts all the steel floats to the top..The grease acts as a flux and burns off..All impuritys come to the top and skim off..I then pour into old muffin tins to make my clean lead for casting..Its the same process for pure lead, except its usually a roll of roofing lead..I cut it in pieces, put in dutch oven , melt, flux, skim off impuritys, pure in muffins tins, ingonts ready to cast. Pure roofing lead cost me $1.00 a pound at the local junk yard..Im sure they buy it for alot less..
Airguns are a learning curve..lol I have been getting terrible accuracy with my Chazsel .222 12 twist barrel.. Long story short i got another one... And half 45 grain .222 hitting sideways at 10 yards..Anything heavier 55 grain every slug side ways... I guess you need 7-9 twist..
I miss having a lathe at my place..Long story short I think im going to buy another used metal lathe..My friend loves my Jet13x40 and he does too much beautiful custom work it. Looking on marketplace I saw some nice lathes for sale. The 13x40 jet is great for light work but not heavy turning. So ill get at least a 13x40 or maybe bigger...I,ve only run chinese lathe's..Maybe find a nice old american lathe. I miss doing barrels on the late nights when sleep isn't a option.. I just got a Teslong digital borescope and wow is it good. Much better than my old Hawkeye borescope..Getting my old interest going again.. Thanks for your support

I got my Arsenal molds .223 powder coat bevel base 5 cavity mold in 🙂🙂🙂 They are around 50 grains..I cast and powder coated 8 pounds today... They came out good 👍 today Shake and bake ...13 min at400 degrees...and stait out of oven into water quench..They all separate and no marks... It's takes a minute casting and powder coating to get it perfect 😊 I cast and powder coated around 1100 slugs Today for $8.00....Pure lead cost me $1.00 a pound

@RM.510bigbore Wait. You're saying that you take them straight from the oven with powder coat and dump them into water? What's the purpose of doing that?
    R
The reason being I powder coated 1100 slugs at one time. One heaping pile on a oven cookie tray..Dumping them hot 400 degrees instantly into water separates them perfectly no marks..Otherwise you would have to individual handle each slug a set up right in silicon.ice.cube trays.. So 1100 slugs cast time 4-5 hours. Total.time powder coating including 13 min oven maybe 30 min total..It took 8 lbs of pure lead at a $1.00 a pound to make 1100 47-50grain.slugs..Probably about 2 table spoons of powder coating... Arsenal 5 cavity mold $100.00 shipped... I rebelling against $20.00 a.hundred airgun slugs....lol. The fatal flaw casting is having.to size your slugs...Its a slow handle each slug process...... There is a.new.Lee APP press with feed tubes ,,its way faster,,, but I'm sure at a min$165.00 to $300.00 tricked out to work good ... Lee sizeing bushings will be here tomorrow in .221 and .222 diameter.. I'm ready to test my 22 condor= Chaszel 12 twist barrel liner... $68.00 😀
I just wanted to thank all the members on the forums that supported me the last 3years.. My health has been bad..No income..My disability finally went through😀... My best friend realized the hard times I fell on and bought me my .510 Texan and .22 Condor... Airgun s and there related activities really helped at times when I was unable to do anything else...I rebuild my yong heng 7 times....I couldn't afford a compressor upgrade.. I'm so looking forward. to a air compressor booster upgrade!😀.. My Tractors.fixed.. new shooting range at other property finally going to happen!!!! So thankful for your support!!! My health is much better than its been in a long time!!!! I'm going to have income play around with airgun s,food plots, and new camp.and range on our family property...Small things mean alot...Good.day friends

Team Kubota L3010 and Team Honda Rancher 420TRX.....With the tractor fixed brush hog a new shooting range on the grown up property now possible😀!!! Hopefully 250 yards!! ! I'm kinda gimped so I have to have trails.cut and be able to drive to targets....I have the POP up camper on the property already!!!! Powder coating...Shake in coffee container with powder coat. Shake off excess powder coat. Place in oven at 400 f for at least 12 min..Dump in water out of oven to separate... Next step sizing

Normally you charge the powder with electricity from a electrode in the tip of the gun, but another way to do it is friction charge it, basically agitating the powder so it collide with itself and so build up a static charge, just like in a cloud with thunder.
I preferred to use the friction gun, well at least when i had to repairing stuff they messed up on the main line as there was no time to send it around again there.

You can have electric build up on the subject which can make it hard to get the powder to apply even again, but there are also ways to Degauss a fire door or what ever it is you are repainting.

I have seen some ( Chinese ) pretty much just dip stuff in a big vat of powder agitated by air from below,,,,,, you also need this for some 2 component powders so its mixed properly before you spray it, but in automated spray boots that recycle powder air on the powder are also used even if its just 1 component.
This is generally a air pipe that sit below the suction pipe for the powder.

IF things hanging on the conveyor are not grounded properly, and go thru a spray booth with like 8 - 10 guns in it, well the high voltage in the guns tip can actually create a powder explosion.
Feeling the spirit to cast some .510 N.O.E 460 grains today. I reclaimed about 300 lbs of lead 3 years ago...I need to try to use it up....I went way over in buying powder coating too about 13 lbs of it....jeez ill never use it..I usually cast 50lbs at a clip...2 Lee 20 lb production pots and a PID controller.... Shake and bake 25 lbs of slugs powder coating at a time.Water quench out of oven to get them to separate perfectly.. Can post pictures of process if.it may help anyone... If anyone needs .510 slugs I will have lots...
I hate x bows...But a turn in luck...My buddy is giving me his KI Boss 405 when the new limbs arrive Wednesday... He is getting a KI Fatal X....Its a blessing... Money in budget for Pennsylvania 22 pcp...Lots of squirrel coyote fox.and few elusive ground hogs...
Update I hate crossbows!!!!!!!! Ahhhhh....Just setup my buddies KI Boss 405with UTG 130 BDX scope......Spent a day and had it hit the target perfectly at 120 yards.....not as accurate as Airsaber put pretty good......Anyways bow season starts buddies adjusting scope says it moved inches at 20 yards.....I had it perfect... Told him limbs are probably shot.....seen him today limbs spit....had to make contraption to fire xbow with frayed limbs...his third set of limbs...warranty.. But still unreliable..... Crossbow are effective but disposable....
