1/2 x 20 threaded nut

was at the hardware store looking for a SS fitting and happened to see 1/2 X 20 hex nuts . one of those DOH! moments when you need to have a threaded glue in/on mount for decorations you might want to attach to the end of your barrels ,for thread protection . ( discreet description )

Oooh, smart idea. I used a 1/2-20 threaded standoff from McMaster when I 3D printed some barrel bling. Pricier than a nut, but also has 1/2" of threads

SS nut is apx.7/16 thick

I was looking for something like that to protect the threads on my Prod’s adapter. I contacted DFL a while back and they wanted $40-$45 for the part. That was a no-go for me. Let’s see how yours looks if you’ve found something that works. Can someone post a photo?

it is a 1/2 inch Hex nut , would look funny on the end of a barrel , tho i suppose you could put it on a bolt and "drill "/ file / sand it round ?

You just need the knurled Cap for the end of the Donny P-Rod adapter?

I have one here that's just under 1" in diameter. If you want it just PM me and it's yours.
If you need a smaller diameter, I could turn it down but you'd loose the knurle and black.

The black plastic thingy is a plastic cap that inserts into a metal table leg, the part that touches the floor. I drilled a hole in the center the tapped it with a 1/2x20 tap. Yes some of the brass stuff is lamp fittings. Not exactly 1/2x20 threads but super close, Teflon tape 1 or 2 wraps take up the very slight wiggle.

I use a 1/2-20 zinc nut on my shroud end, so I can magnetize my Wheeler green laser bore site just to get me close on paper after a scope mount.

Actually it’s a flanged hex nut
