N/A .177 for slugs (primarily at least)?!

Nice! I just found this on Hoppes. Specific for .177 airguns no brush

I just ordered one from amazon. same one, arriving tomorrow 7am. but this has me concerned.

Maybe i just need to cut that in half.

Interesting. It says no brush but it quite literally shows a brush in the picture.

That's what i've done with all the other ones I got from ballistol.
I'll let you know tomorrow. I noticed that. but, i noticed that same picture used on several size options. Look at the Address bar, the option is a unique item number. So it's most likely just lazy programming

Gotcha, I ordered one just in case it should be here on saturday.

I guess the hammer spring settled in my 177, and it went from 43fpe to 39fpe. From 984fpe avg to 935avg. I managed to increase it to 952fps accuracy wasn't there. I would need a heavier spring as I was maxed out on power about 2.7 turns before I couldn't cock it anymore. 20gr at 984fps was super accurate, but I don't have any heavier spring to play around with so I will just drop the reg pressure to get about 950fps with the 16gr.

I spent some time late last night with the katran. i'm going to be using MRD's and KO Mk3's Exclusively from now on. I've got a tune that gives me 82 shots(260-110) with the 13.43's at an average (over 55 shots on chrono) of 886.4, Extreme spread of 11.7 and an SD of 1.6, and with the KO mk3 SD of 1.1 ES of 8.9, an average of 969.1. But yeah, i think it's just flat out a good idea to make your adjustments, take a reading, then wait 6-10 hours before you really do your data collection strings.

If the gap to gain access into breech end of barrel is a tad tight, YES shortening the drop weight a bit is required. ONLY TRIM IT Minimally as you still need enough weight to pull the guide string down the bore ;)

Same velocity?
Yes, tested both as high as 910 and as low as 855[

why I was asking so many questions about velocities of cylindrical monsters in the .177 pellets in hunting thread. Motorhead said he had luck. I'm not trying to go past 100. In fact 85 would be fine. I just have so many 13.43 cylinder monsters. Now that i've found MRD's work i'll switch to them. But If there is any velocity at which the cylinders will stay stable and tight past 55-60y id love to know instead of have several thousand pellets sitting around without a purpose.

Yeah, it would be a bummer to just have those sitting around, so I understand you're predicament.

I'll see what I can find.

Honestly the MRD do pretty well. I was right at 12fpe at 100 at the indoor range the other day. They held tight. MRD's did a good job. I just need to find a heavier slug that holds as well as the 10.03.. i'm still in disbelief at how good those things are doing at longer range. I figured they'd fall apart, NOT EVEN CLOSE.. pinpoint at 80, slightly larger than the tip of my thumb at 100. I'd love a 13-15 that could do that.

You're tried the JSB KO 13.43gr right? They don't expand at all, but they are the cream of the crop when it comes to accurate, reliable slugs in .177 in mid weights.

If you want, I can send you some 13gr griffins to try and the 13.43gr ko to try.

They're not bad. but my current setup is pushing them no faster than 900 max. the 10.03s give me one small hole at 50.. the 13.43 give me a quarter at 50. I might order an Altaros Reg setup for 33- 36 fpe and matched to a valve. I'll need to look up what the Huma Reg on the stock Katran L can do before i push it further. i'm at 115 up from 90. I imagine if i push the stock reg any further i'll have to do some Valve tuning as well

At that point, you might as well just whay you're using, if you're not gonna try to shoot beyond ninety yards.

But the huma reg should be more efficient

I use slugs beyond 90.. I'm saying i wouldn't mind if i could find a setting that extends the reliable accuracy of the 13.4 cylindrical monsters to 85. I have a few spots for them. the MRD and KO.s i'm fine with at range. Just have A LOT of the monsters. Be nice to use them. Be more efficient? Efficiency is fine. I'm saying I dont know what the Standard Katran L Pressure range is. UA, and AMaks made it out that "it really should be sent in to be adjusted". I assume when i'm told that there has to be some serious reason, like the gun has a really delicate balance between the valve and reg. Or if the Standard Reg is only meant to operate between 90-125-130? If they're just attempting to get service fees out of me then i'm comfortable doing it myself. It is a pain constantly adjusting. Degas, Pull tube, Pull reg, refill, repeat. It's not so serious that i'm going to go nuts if i can't find a heavier slug that performs like the KO's. Just definitely wouldn't mind it.

I gotcha now,
