As a dealer I want tell you the biggest hurdle people have with PCP's

I love my PCPs but.... Its almost embarrassing to tell someone how much I paid for them lol
I still haven't told my wife, I'm stupid but NOT THAT STUPID. Another option is diversionary pricing, like mentioning a "are you out of your mind" purchase.

Love my firearms, but I have taken WAY more pest animals (ground squirrels and starlings mainly) with my Hatsan AT-44 and now my synthetic Flashpup (both in .22). I live outside of town, and it is MUCH easier for me to get permission to shoot an air rifle on a neighbors property than a firearm. Living in California legally owning a firearm suppressor is not happening for me unfortunately.

Ahhhhh but a Linear compensator is legal. Just a hint.

There is a business opportunity for you ... sell them smaller to mid size air bottles, and you fill for them per yearly membership prices ?
My very first year with PCP back in time I was visiting my dive shop 20 minutes away like every week, costed me $50 a year per bottle.
to bad ya did.nt have one of these?

So I am in farm and ranch country and try to market PCPs at a local level more than online. I've lost track of how many people have walked away from buying a PCP because they think their shop air compressor should be able to fill it. This is without a doubt the biggest problem I've had. They all describe how big their compressor is and I show them the proper compressor for the job. I explain its a PSI thing. Their shop compressor likely won't be able to exceed 175-200 psi and they just can't wrap their head around that.
I thought they coming back to buy fill probe adapters :D

I have had this same compressor for about a year now and it has been 100% a Godsend for me! At less than $500, it will soon actually have paid for itself in fill fees/Hydro/time/travel saved. Coolest part is using solar panels to run it!!!

The only difference between men and boys, is the price of their toys. If you think PCP guns are really costly?
I invite you to the world of trap shooting, one of the oldest shooting disciplines extant. Regular trap practice is 4-6 rounds per week for those that are serious about breaking 25 when they step to the line. Each round of trap is 25 rounds of 12 gauge. For most clubs the clays are between 4-6 bucks per round.
Practice alone runs 50-75 dollars per week "nowadays" at 8 bucks a box for shells. I quit being a semi serious trap shooter, the cost is just too high. One can spend even more for Sporting clays or about the same money for skeet. Sporting clays, add a 5000 dollar golf cart. The cost of a "nice" shotgun? You will think our PCP guns are cheap comparatively. A decent gun is 2-3 K minimum, and the sky is literally the limit.

Air is free!!
Until you compress it!
Indeed. Seems like we could use gunpowder to create pressure.... :) Chemical reactions can create serious pressure in a hurry. I ONCE filled a 2 liter soda bottle with expanding packaging foam and capped it. Be sure to throw it in a dumpster if you duplicate my foolishness. Besides making a heck of a bang, it also makes a heck of a mess.

That's great, esp. if you have lots of range rats that are at the club shooting anyway. I'm talkin shooters not rodents, someone has to mind the pump and swap tanks as needed. Even a small club, splitting the cost of a good HPA setup among 20 guys really eases the pain.
A cheap and reliable air source for all would skyrocket PCP sales IMO. Clark was the owner of the air gun on the L+C expedition back in 1804 and from their journals keeping it charged with air was a hassle then too. The natives they encountered saw it as white man's magic, the chiefs were fascinated by the Giardoni. I've not read anything that indicates they took game with it, the expeditions #1 priority was keeping their powder dry. They counted on their boats overturning and stored their powder for that eventuality.
The cost of HPA kept me out of the PCP game for a long time.
