I got my Barra 250z in on Thursday, played with it all weekend. Here are my thoughts:

It’s long, like real long. With a Buck Rail UNF Moderator it’s got a few inches on my RAW HM1000x and that’s saying something. It is pretty light despite its length and I had no issue carrying it around in the woods with me this weekend. Just need to be a bit more
mindful.

I’m not too picky in furniture, the stock does look kinda “cheap” that said it’s got side and bottom slots for M-Lok accessories and it’s plenty sturdy. I shoot off a tripod and it handles like a PRS style powder burner.

I like the bolt much more than I thought I would. Pretty smooth, and will get better with time. The trigger however leaves a LOT to be desired. It is adjustable, but at least on my rifle, just when it starts to be palatable the crossbar style safety stops working. More to follow on this, if i have to grind the cross bar a bit to get it to work I will.

Barrel shroud air tank is a game changer. I like it enough that an FX DRS will likely be my next rifle.

Its fast. Mine is in .22, and anything in the 15-18 grain pellet range is hovering in the 990-1000fps. This seems to be fine at 30 yards but stretching it to 50 the dispersion starts to show up, you can tell they’re moving just a little too fast. Conversely 23 grain .217 Nielsen slugs are pretty good coming in around 850fps, but again they’re not moving quite fast enough to really hold a decent group at 50. I have a feeling pellets and slugs in the 20-24 grain range will let me leave it stock and get good results. Otherwise I’d have to go up for slugs and down for pellets, which I may very well do. The external reg adjustment and degas screws are clutch.

For $450 bucks I think this thing is awesome. If you get one let me know what you think!

Got mine last week, $440 from Barra. I only got to put two mags through it, neighbors were out next door to my shop and the 250z is as loud as it is long! Will try a couple different moderators on it to quiet it down. Got it sighted within a few shots and it grouped real good with .22 JSB 25.39gr. I just bought a bunch of different pellets to try, curious if any will be better than the 25 gr. Trigger is spongy feeling, not terrible though imo, will probably try to adjust. Bolt cycles nice, magazines are nice too, stock is decent for what it is, doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy, it has a dense feel to it. Cylinder over barrel is very cool, I like the design. Can’t wait to spend some real time with it and put some lead through it.
Also got a few extra mags from CARM, I think they are 13 shot in .22.
