Brocock/BRK Best PCP You've Ever Owned?

possible
edit..Benchmark are button pulled not cut rifled
How do you know what kind of rifling this has? I fully remember back in about 20 years ago, RAW. actually published in their website the option of a Benchmark barrel on their HM1000x. It wasn’t long after that it disappeared from the catalog. Since then, everyone is keeping hush hush about it including a big name dealer that I know well. I had one of these rifles and it shot well. Better than an LW barrel? Maybe, maybe not.

because i ordered it from Martin and he told me it was a cut rifle barrel
this was back in 2014.
Better than a LW? ..i don't have one for this rifle so i can not make the comparison

I do not know if this is the very best I have owned, but the FX Panthera Compact Hunter .25 Cal has won the competition with my other PCP's to go with me this Saturday to a Javalina hunt.

I raised the power to 62 fpe with H&N Barracudas 31.02 grain. The accuracy is really good shot after shot. I TRUST IT.

No matter if you have a super powerful rifle. What really matters is that the only one chance that you are going to have in the hunting you are able to hit it precisely where shou should to make a clean kill.

Another important point to have in mind for this kind of hunting is that the PCP must be "really" quiet in order not to spook deer around.

I just achieved everything I wanted with my FX Panthera, so it won the competence to assist tom the hunting trip.

Not a Benchmark

My favorite has been my .22 Cricket mini Carbine I bought used in early 2018. Shoots JSB 18.1 grain at about 875, and the AEA 15.9 grain at about 905 fps. Both very accurate out to 100+ yards. The gun is as reliable as they come, and POI shifts are non-existent. I've used this gun mostly for hunting ground squirrels but also have used it in Speed Silo at EBR to win (Sportsman) in 2019.

Center cut, would you mind telling me about your scope mounting? A riser AND an offset mount? What is/are they? Thanks

Well I do. I've owned two different RAW rifles in .22 and found some targets that I saved:

RAW BM barrel-3rd target is 10 shots at 55 yards with JSB 25.4 gr pellets
55 yd.jpg
IMG-1691.JPG
10 shots at 50 yd. JSB 25 gr 22 cal.JPG

RAW .22 with LW Barrel
HM1000 .22 cal 5 shots at 50 yd JSB 15.9 gr.jpg
HM1000 .22 cal 5 shots at 50 yd JSB 18.1 gr.jpg

Both are close, but I guess I would give the nod to the BM barrel. I wish I had kept that rifle.

The scope mount is a UTG ACCU SYNC 1 inch (they have 30mm and 34mm) Medium Pro, 50mm Offset Picatinny Rings, Flat Dark Earth color, medium height (they have a "high" version also).

There are various color options, height options, etc. The 50mm offset is the one you want. There is a 30mm offset but the rings are too close together.

The mount is one piece, not a riser and a mount. Most of the newer versions are setup as quick disconnect. Look on Amazon.com, about $50. The specific scope in the photo is a 1" tube, Vortex Razor HD LH 3-15x. I can't remember the last time I changed my zero.

Centercut, Thank you so much for the information. I’m going to buy one of those

Still have it. Only thing that's changed is the stock. I found one with better grain. Just need to strip the finish and oil it. Winter project... add that to the pile of them lol.

I just got a Kratos. So far I’m liking it.
Love the smooooth cocking lever.
Very pleased with the ease of loading the mags. Haven’t done anything to the trigger yet and it’s pretty darn good out of the box.

I have removed the little pacifier on the front 😂

I had a couple of them. A 22 first and then a 25 that I swapped to 177 from my Akela. Good guns, just long and heavy for off hand which I prefer over bench shooting.

The Jumbo is balanced enough I can shoot offhand well. 38.5" long with moderator.

Yeah I’ve been eyeing the stock for drilling out some material from the butt end of the stock. Then go with a CF bottle to save weight.

This invoice does say "cut rifled barrel" but it doesn't say who made it. I contacted Benchmark and they told me that rimfire barrels are button rifled and they do make cut rifled barrels for centerfire guns. Since air rifle barrels are not the same dimensionally as rimfire barrels, I'm guessing that they made a special run of barrels for airguns using the cut rifling process rather than tool up for buttons. I think they decided that this is not a market they want to pursue, so they just made a small run, but didn't want to make it known that they were going to continue to offer airgun barrels so that customers wouldn't hound them about it. Just my guess, but RAW's website did say Benchmark. I was not the original owner of my RAW rifle with the custom barrel, so I don't have the invoice to reference. I bought it from a close friend around the end of 2017. I could be all wrong about the source of your barrel.
