Crosman pellets

Some data on the Crosman "Premier" line of pellets (I believe this is their premium line).

I've been moderating the 30 and 40 YArd Challenge on AGN for the past couple of years -collecting extensive data on rifles/pellets/barrels/scopes..

There have been likely thousands of this precision target shot over this time.

I personally took on the "challenge" of trying to score 190+ with Crosman Premier Ultra Domes (CPUD) and Crosman Premier Hollow Points (CPHP) back in 2023. This involved shooting the Crosmans straight from the tin - no sorting, weighing, lubing, etc.

.22 Caliber Results:
My Weihrauch HW110 when using its 410mm barrel shot consistently excellent (sub-1/2") groups at 30 yards when using both the CPUD and CPHP (both 14.3g). Eventually, I was able to shoot 5 consecutive 30-Challenge cards with the CPUD of 190+. My highest score was a 195. My most Xs was 12 (on a 193 card). The CPHP did not score as high. I scored in the 185-191 range with the CPHP - with one lucky card of 194. I believe only 3 cards were 190+ (a 190, a 191 and the 194).

To get these results, the HW110 was shooting the CPHPs and the CPUDs in the 720-725fps velocity range. Faster velocities and the scores dropped.

There have been just two other shooters who have submitted 30-Challenge cards of 190+ with Crosman pellets over the past two years.

One other interesting result - I tested CPHPs at 1,025fps out of the RTI Prophet Performance V1 at 40 yards. They actually grouped pretty well at 40. Groups of 15 shots would show about 10 shots inside a dime, with the "flyers" staying inside a quarter. The RTI barrel in this rifle has a slow 1:32 twist rate.

.177 Caliber Results:
I have one rifle that shoots CPUD 10.5g extremely well. Incredibly, its a Umarex Gauntlet V1. Using a Sightron 36X on my Gauntlet, I shot consecutive cards of 197, 196 198 using the CPUD at 850fps in the summer of 2023.

Florida_Man submitted a 197 card using his .177 FX Maverick using the CPUD 10.5s back in 2023. Velocity was 783fps.

So from the data collected, it appears that the .177 Crosmans may be more accurate than the .22 Crosmans.

Probably not a lot of "serious" target shooters spend much time working with Crosman Premier pellets, so perhaps there are many more rifle/barrel/velocity combinations that would give 190+ scores with Crosman pellets. I personally tend to avoid using them in most of me best target rifles as they tend to deposit more lead build up in the barrel that JSB/FX/AA soft lead pellets.
