When the wife or a friend shoots with me, there's a opportunity to shoot the same pistols. This is great for some friendly competition. Or having both ready without changing cartridges.

Not so much with pistols as rifles! But yes some duplicates have slipped in.

Webley Tempest and Hurricane...in spite of different sights (and aftermarket grips on the Hurricane), same gun internally:

German Walther LP 53 and Polish Predom Lucznik...actually quite different but you wouldn't know it by the looks:

Two versions of the Feinwerkbau LP 65 - earlier one with long barrel, barrel sleeve weight, and match grips; later one with short barrel and sport grips:

Both compacts, both .22 cal. Different grips, different sights, different mufflers.

#1, bought new.

#2. Bought as a refurbished gun right after the war started. Bought basically as...spare parts for #1 !
