China banning 4090s because of AI

It's a scary proposition when some of the smartest people that have ever lived are scared to death of AI. Being as everything today is embedded with some sort of a computer it's not hard to believe that every piece of electronics in your house could at some point have ai in it monitoring your every move. Of course there is the job issue with it potentially putting millions of people out of work.

A lot of threats involved with the progression of AI, it really is a double edged sword.

Be smart, be aware...what movie,"Be afraid-be Very Afraid" sorry it just popped in my head.

AI-Generated images, video, recordings are indistinguishable anymore from the real, in fact there was an article that proposed AI generated human faces look more real than...real human faces.

@pnwairgunner To scam and defraud people without being able to connect the account to their true identity or location. Selling people double-boxes 2x4s or receiving shipped guns to say that they never arrived and want a refund from the seller. When one account is banned some go to the next bogus account created 3 years ago but currently has 9 posts.
That’s exactly what a BOT would say! 😳🫵

I reported some weird stuff a few days ago. I wonder how many accounts are fake? Also, I have to admit I’m totally out of the loop when it comes to technology but what would the purpose even be to have fake bot accounts on AGN? As in, why would someone go to the trouble?
There are all kinds of reasons. Imagine a foreign nation that wants to influence US opinion. A few million bots out there actively posting on forums ranging from ATV's to guinea pigs can disseminate their propaganda. Russian bot farms are well known, but I'm sure there are dozens of other state actors who are doing it too.. Now think of the scammer crowd, the same people that send out millions of emails claiming to be Nigerian princes or to have hacked your iPhone. Having established identities on thousands of different forums gives them a much better angle when it comes to conning someone out of their money. Then consider corporations who want to market their products or review them favorably. How many online reviews do you think were written by bots? I'm sure internet trolls will also discover that having thousands of AI alteregos will aid them immensely.

I have reported one, like I said it's just little things they are very specific about product names even if it has nothing to do with this forum. To me it just seems like a 10 year old trying to act like an adult all looks good but a few things are off, perfect sentence structure in one paragraph then a sentence in the next that's all kinds of wrong but perfect after.
Sounds like my posts. 🤔 Sorry! 😁

***MODERATOR NOTE: If you suspect an A.I BOT, please report the account to the Moderation staff. ***

Anyone else notice this? They join then make random post often in the wrong sections with long segmented post often times referencing outdated things as if they were current. Most of the post reads good but there is always 1 or 2 lines that make no sense at all. All seem to be from Texas or Arizona lol.
Maybe non English speakers?
