I just thought to share this pic.
Great picture, thanks for posting it. I have a 95 vortex with the QT, Love the rifle it hits spot on even with the cheap scope that came with it......when you can hold it on target with the trigger pull. I need to figure out what can be done to lighten that pull. It didn't seem so bad until the HW50S landed here. I tweaked it some when I first got and it helped but when I tried to do more the safety stopped working. The gun would fire with the safety on or off , I had to back it out to where it is now but it's just very hard to hold the gun on point to get through the trigger pull. What is the little screw behind the trigger doing?, it doesn't give a clear picture?
Which screw? and was that ALL you needed to do? ThanksYes took the advice or someone on here , that is way more knowledgeable on that that trigger than myself An replaced One of those front screws with a longer 3mm bolt now have a 1 pound triggeryes yes
The two trigger screws are 3mm. Remove them and get longer ones. Cut down the new ones just 3/32“ longer. The trigger can now be adjusted as good as your HW30 Rekord trigger.Great picture, thanks for posting it. 1 lb with the power these guns make is awfully light. Mine is at 2 and I’d be scared to go lower!Yes took the advice or someone on here , that is way more knowledgeable on that that trigger than myself An replaced One of those front screws with a longer 3mm bolt now have a 1 pound triggeryes yes
I set the 135 at 2lbs. The 95 at just over 1lb. I always hold back the barrel while loading. Most people can handle 2+lbs on either. At 1 lb it probably would not pass the drop test.1 lb with the power these guns make is awfully light. Mine is at 2 and I’d be scared to go lower!
Thank you, I remember now you telling me about the screw trick, I just couldn't find the past comments. I will get new screws and fix the problem asap, Like I said the rifle is a fine piece, it just needs to have a lighter trigger to be a consistent shooter. The two trigger screws are 3mm. It’s a four lever, two stage trigger like the Rekord. It can be infinitely adjusted. The reason I bump it up a bit is because of the the pin-to-lever tolerances. Not quite as tight as the Rekord trigger. It is the best trigger in its class that I’ve worked on.Looks to be a true two stage so a 1 lb pull should still have plenty of engagement at rest to pass a drop test. Safety is the biggest reason for a two stage in the first place. You can get a very light crisp second stage while maintaining a safe and bump resistant first stage.
They are decent triggers for field use. They are not a Rekord and FAR from. CD TRIGGER. Most people who are trigger zelots are not hunting and doing snap shots or tree rests. They are door jamb jockeys You are not pulling up on a moving target and fallowing trying to wait till it stops with a 8 oz trigger …It’s a four lever, two stage trigger like the Rekord.
