R5M Edgun and FX hybrid slugs

Make sure the gun "clicks" then the bolt will not fly open. This is the only downer about hybrids.
This is really important. The cycling feels so smooth at times it’s as if I am unsure that there was a pellet or slug in the chamber after pushing the cocking arm forward. The catch is at the end of the stroke you must listen for the “click” to be sure that whichever part rolls across the carriage catches and closes the bolt completely. That last little push is subtle, but an important step.

I’m just starting to shoot them in my R5M. I tried them in my Lelya 2.0 a couple years ago and they shot ok, but since it’s really about a 50 yards and under woods walker for my uses I didn’t see the point of wasting slugs in my Lelya when I’ve taken squirrels, rabbits, a young racoon, and crow with domed .25 pellets. Since I shoot the R5M out further, I intend to work with FX Hybrids and similar styled slugs now that I see that it seems to shoot them satisfactorily in .25 caliber.

This R5M t seems like it may be able to shoot the Hybrids if I increase velocity. They averaged 797 fps. I’m not sure how it would play out at farther distances at this velocity. I only shot the one mag. The other 26 grain slugs shot an average of 849 fps. I’ll shoot some more Hybrids again if I the reg setting. I think it’s set around 120 bar right now.
