Skout Skout EVO precision with slugs

Steve123- from the pics you’re showing, you have like a very ultimate set up, very nice!
Thanks.

The older I get the more I need the best IQ I can afford. I had the Meopta on at first because it was what I took off the Uragan King I sold but it doesn't parallax and focus below 25Y on 25X so it needed to come off for that FM match because our closest target is 11Y.
Then put a Vector Continental 5-30 on it and the IQ isn't very good so I took it off. Though at least it focuses close. It's become my back up scope now.
Then since I want to concentrate using my EVO the most right now I put the March Genesis 4-40x52 on it. The IQ is awesome and I can dial to ELR distances without running out of elevation travel. Plus it's super heavy which is something I want on this gun because we shoot our positional stage, which used to be offhand, but now we stand using supported tripod or bipod instead. The MD has a 3/4" KZ at 26Y which is super hard to get a 22 cal projectile through even with a tripod.

And that rear pump bag really helps getting the POA perfect without torquing the gun.

I forgot, which projectile and velocity are you using in your Skout?

Looking better for Long Range and 100Y BR Slug for Oregon. Decided to try the .25 @Altaros 60 grain Queens today in 800mm 1:16 liner. Shooting them at 880 fps which requires HP of 153 bar. Need to get out to 250-300Y sometime prior to Oregon but today looked good. A RA4 BC of 0.236 in 8mph left to right gusting to 11mph, drift was negligible.

Shot a 5 shot 100Y group at an EBR target close to 1/2 MOA.

Then 10 or 11 shots 100Y to N50 target

Orange Crush @Skout Evo with @Athlon Cronus scope and @Altaros .25 Queen 60 grain slugs.

I'm rooting for someone else, but your groups look better than his. Lol

Great groups Mike!

The juice might be worth the squeeze after all.

And NO WAY I'm selling those Altaros 60's back that you sold me last year. :p ;)

Those 60's will probably get you .1-.2 mils less wind drift than the 49.5's at the farther distances, depending on the conditions, which is hedging your bets on winning a tad better.

Man I love these slugs in my V3 and they smack steel hard too.

Damn, I was just going to ask if you still wanted them! I think a 20% increase in BC under certain conditions makes the juice worth the squeeze. I have .22 FX 700mm 1:16 that shoots the @Altaros Kings at 905 fps really well, so at 100Y BR if its not that windy I'll probably shoot them. If its windy or really switchy, I'll shoot the .25 @Altaros 60 grain Queens. And at the Long Range, I'll shoot the Queens no matter the condition.
I've been using the RA4 profile for the Altaros for all three that I shoot, the .22 King 40 grain, the .25 Smooth 49.5 grain and the .25 Queen 60 grain. It seems out past 200-250 yards the RA4 profile fits a bit better. For the .22 Kings I get 0.190 RA4, the .25 Smooth I get 0.195 RA4, and the .25 Queens I get 0.235 RA4.
