Some classifieds be like…

Personally I think a lot of people inflate the price cause they expect to be hammered with lower offers, so they can get what they actually want for it. It really doesn't bother me, you do you as it's there rifles/pistols and at the end of the day they can ask whatever they want for them. It is a PIA combing through the classifieds lol really wish each section had its own search function.

You'd lose that bet. Unless you're talking about only this one forum and this one category. And I didn't knock renewed posts in general, I clearly said people renewing for 6 months. That's excessive.

Either way, my original post was one sentence where I shared my opinion on the topic. You decided to pick at it and now you keep picking and have even started flexing about your sales. Try not to take my one sentence so personally. ;)
Excessive in your eyes. If you didn’t want anyone commenting on your opinion, you can just refrain from doing it in the first place.

Yup, seem that. I posted something for 1350 once and I immediately got a message “Will you take 700”
I’ve never been the type of person to inflate.

Really the only thing that sells fast or well unless priced Uber cheap pretty much are M3’s. Those babies go quick but many other guns do not. That could be because most people ask too much for everything else. The thing that cracks me up are the (refrain from using insulting name) that renew a listing 10000000 times at the same price no one is buying it for. Or the pellet sellers selling at the same price you can buy them from PA for. Another laugh.
Pellet seller

What one guy say hete that he thinks the pellets were culled and the pellets sold were the ones the seller could not use or "scraps" ..lol. Buying a "used" tin of pellets is funny enough to me

I get it now. I saw your multitude of stale, unanswered ads after months in the classifieds here. I figured there had to have been a reason you were so sensitive about my words. Even though my one sentence described you precisely, I wasn't directing it at you since I have no idea who you are. So try your best to move on. And good luck with those transactions. Hopefully 2023 will be your year to get some merchandise moved.

Yup ask for a $1000 get offered $300 and they get upset that you say no.
I can't remember what I was selling, i think a Native Kayak. The guy opens with "what will you take for it" have in mind I clearly put a price (700) on the listing. I said 900. He goes "but the listing is for 700, I responded "exactly"
The "what will you take for it" is the ultimate infuriating statement for me.

Well in his defense you did not state 700 firm. Most folks price things with dickering room on a final price.

I like this, going to start doing that to get the point across. If it doesn't say OBO, the price is firm! Ask me for lower, I'll raise it. It's a polite way of telling someone to fook off

YES don't expect to get the same price you payed for it,i see that a lot.Any fool no's if ya buy it new"at least ya get some sort of a guarantee, Guns like in the picture you can kinda name your price for them?As their just not made like this anymore"

I pity the man who allows his wife to tell him what to do. On the other hand, if you are selling a rifle, strip it of all the parts that are not included (in the photos) and don't expect to get 80-90% of what you paid for it. You will be waiting a long time. and don't think that a catchy phrase like "This is the last price reduction" is going to matter. Sorry sellers. This is a buyer's market at the current prices of new PCPs. Why buy used at 80-90% of a new rifle if you can afford it?

Not always the case. Sometimes people just don’t have the money to spend on that particular item. Then the time of year comes that some have expendable income and it goes. Some of us don’t like to keep dropping the price of something we KNOW is worth more than we’re asking, but the market just isn’t there at the time. Some of us don’t “need” to sell it for the money, so we hold onto it intil there IS a market for it. Then it goes.
Always the case . . . The market determines what the rifle is worth, not the seller.

Well, from my point of view, I'm not going to disassemble the gun, remove the scope that is sighted in dead on at my preferred range and re-install everything if the gun does not sell, because some clown who joined yesterday (who I would not sell to anyway) with 10 crap posts offers less than 70% shipped. If someone wants pics of the gun stock go to the manufacturers website. Honest sellers provide pictures of the actual item they are selling.
This attitude will never sell at the asking price. Who wants to buy a rifle that is being used (abused) every day?

Very true. I have been trying to sell a rifle and at the bare minimum of what I will take, so I will let it sit until someone wants it. If no one does, I'll keep it.
Sellers are different. You have some that need the money and some that just want to reduce inventory. I like this forum the best, so I always offer a lower price here then i do other places I post it.
This is the only thing that works. Good for you!

We occasionally get these gripefests about how others conduct their business in the classifieds.....

It's amazing how often the simple phrase, "you worry 'bout youself" is appropriate when my kids are squabbling about something. It's one of my favorite things to tell them. Usually they hear that when they're coming to me to tattle. It's a reference to this viral video from a few years ago....

Kinda crazy to further think about how many fewer problems we'd have in the world if more adults also took this to heart. In short, if you're interested in a WTS ad, contact the seller and work out the details. If you're not interested (for whatever reason) then move along.
I can tell from your six-year history on the forum you have seen everything. You have your considered opinion, But you can't speak for the people who have an opinion on this topic. Maybe a new/newer seller will learn something from the comments. Even the old hands may learn something.

I’ll place the bet that I’ve sold and bought more on these forums than you have, and guess what? I renew my posts, and I buy from people that Renew theirs. Just a matter of who wants what and when!
New people (potential buyers) are joining the forum every day. I am new and I have bought a couple of thousand dollar + merchandise in just four months. But I see alot of stuff way overpriced, IMHBAO, as someone who can afford to buy the merchandise, but would never buy at the asking price.. Just a tip to would be sellers. The buyers are there, but the right price is not.

I can honestly say I've never sold one of my guns.
Me either, because I bought my current collection with strong conviction to hold til I die, and pass on to my heirs. Daystate, Air Arms, FX, American Air Arms . . . these guns are legacy quality, and I'm old enough to realize it and enjoy them while I'm living. 🍻
