New Member

Hi All!

New member here from Southern California. Growing up I used to shoot a lot with my dad in the garage with a Crosman drifter. Now I feel like I want to get back into it and hopefully join 10m pistol competitions, but doing a quick google search I may have trouble with that latter part being in California. Hope I'm wrong about that and hope to lean on the community to learn about this great sport

What type of o ring to use to seal gauages on guns?

Hello. I have an fx impact. It was leaking so I used leak detector to find the leak. It was coming from the front gauge. I replaces with an normal black o rings. It stopped the leak but after 3 days it started to leak from the same gauge. So I checked and the o ring I just replaced was already crushed and damaged. I guess normal o rings will not work. I know Yong heng compressor don't use o rings to seal, they use white hard plastic type disc to make the seal. So for my impact gauge. Do I use o rings or white plastic disc to make the seal? It seem the rubber black o rings get crushed too easily by the pressure.

Taipan  Well, I've gone and done it...

Well, I've gone and done it...
As much as I love my Taipan Veteran Long, I've always thought it's a bit too long especially since I have it tuned to only around 31 FPE. I do love the shot count, but as a standby varmint rifle I rarely needed that many shots at a time. As a backyard rifle though shooting out of the window most of the time (sometimes at odd angles), the length is a big deal. I've slogged through deciding on the length when I bought the Long and years later I'm still thinking about it. I figured if I'm going to get the standard length, now is the time since they're getting harder to find. I don't know but this Talon Tunes restock last month might be one of the last ones they get. The red stock is not my first choice, but it's the only one left and I'm putting it on the tactical stock anyways.

Of course I get it in my favorite caliber .22 so now I don't know if I'm keeping the Long version or selling it. 😅

UX notos, Artemis m60, or AGT Vixen?

I'm looking to get something that's lower on power than most gun, preferably compact but I have found that most of those offering are $1550 and higher and I'm wanting to stay in the $1200 or under category.

I want to keep it under fifty yards, as I have airguns that will do the work out to 200yds.

I would like a .177 but I don't mind using a .22 in this scenario, hence why I put the notos up. All of these are within the same power range, are about the same length, and there isn't much of a difference when it comes to noise levels from what I have gathered. The biggest difference between them all is the different price point and the amount of shots eor fill.

If anyone can chime in with their experiences I would appreciate it!

Crosman  New 1701p first PCP

I am coming back to Airguns after a couple years off. Basically I shoot Field Target but don’t have any FT activity in my area. I am working on that.

But in the meantime I need to get shooting. New house has a very small yard. And it’s got neighbors. So I can shoot my springers outside but at 10 meters is is still a little loud and the target needs to be silenced. I got out my 2300 Co2 pistol. and it is quiet enough and it is also low enough power that I can use my regular pellet trap. So now I can set up in my garage and shoot across the patio at a target backed by a hill with a metal gazebo blocking any possibility of a stray pellet leaving the yard.

I like the 2300 pistol but the co2 cartridge have drawbacks. The 1701P eliminated all the problems with Co2 and make a nice pistol package.

I am really just entertaining myself and want trigger time. So I ordered the stock option to convert the pistol to a mini carbine. Something I don’t have. And I can rest the air tube on a sand bag and just stack pellets.

I opted to mount a rifle scope because of the stock. Should be some fun.

I ordered a Hill mk2 hand pump because it’s a pistol and I am waiting for the stock and pump to be delivered.

FX  What is a Good 25.4gr Tune? (FX Impact M4 .22 700mm)

My 700mm FX Impact M4 came tuned for 18.1gr pellets at 2.5 Micro Wheel and 90 bar Reg pressure. (Line 4 Valve Adjust) I'm not going to touch the valve but does anyone have a good tune to bump up to the 25.4gr pellets?

Should I just turn the Micro Wheel up untill they are flying 890-920 FPS? or would I change the Reg Pressure too? Any advice would be welcome.

M3 owners please share tunes too because the M4 is pretty close.

Thank you!

Finally nailed this coyote

This coyote has been cruising too close to the neighborhood. He even took one of my neighbors ducks at 10:00 in the morning. It was filmed on their yard camera. So for the last couple days I made it a point to kill this sucker. It’s just getting too comfy and its offspring will too if I don’t nip this in the bud. Thought about just cleaning him out with my 6mm but figured I would give it one shot with my RTI P2 .30 slug sender. We have major storms coming in so I figured I would put out a carcass. Sure enough he came to eat. My gun is zeroed at 100 but this shot to the carcass was 189 yards. Sorry for the poor image quality but when it’s raining, it’s not pretty.

It yipped after the impact so it should be laying in the strip of woods along the power line. Depending on this storm, I hope to look for it in the morning. But it might have to wait until later in the day. Either way, it took a .30 slug to the boiler room so it’s circling the drain.

Kral Arms  New PCP and Loosing air after 30 shots

So I got a new Rexmex Daystar a few weeks ago, finally set it up the other day with scope and sighted. Walked out this morning and gun was at ZERO Pressure.. When I left it yesterday is was at 210 BAR. So refilled, noticed fill valve was a bit loose so tightened, shot a few pellets,, etc... Took a measurement and still losing about 10-20 BAR an hour.

Gun held pressure fine before shooting as I had it for a week before being able to play with it.

Can't feel ny air escaping anywhere.

Sigh..

Any help would be appreciated.. Obviously under warranty but if easy fix I rather just fix to avoid hassle.

FX  Tuning the FX Impact M3/M4 ??? (SOLVED)

I have one question about tuning the M3/M4.

If I enter the tune, and it's not shooting slow enough let's say. I can reduce the velocity by dialing down the Micro wheel (hammer spring), but I can also reduce the velocity by dialing down the valve adjuster.

How do I know which one to adjust?

Example: My 700mm .22 cal M4 is now shooting 18.1gr at 920 FPS. How do I get it to 890? The Tune is Micro 2.5 and Line 4 on the Valve Adjuster. Reg is at 90 bar. That's the factory tune from FX. (I know because I got 2 M4's from 2 different dealers...same exact settings out of the box.) Do I reduce the valve or reduce the HST?

---------------------------------------------------------------------

ANSWER: You always have the Valve on line 4. The Macro always starts on 16. Enter the HST Micro Wheel and Reg settings then go up an down with the Micro Wheel only (HST), if you wish to go up or down in velocity. Note: The Macro Wheel setting has NO effect on your tune. It's only there to move your Micro Wheel fast if you want to go to a specific setting quickly.

How to tune for a heavier pellet (starting from a Factory Tune setting): Trucker3573 said
Start by bumping the micro up a little and see if you get a velocity increase. That will tell you if you need to bump the reg pressure up or not. If you don’t get any more velocity with the micro then bump the reg by about 5 bar and repeat. Find that plateau where you get no more velocity for a given reg pressure until you hit your target velocity.

Airgun Technologies  Strong leak Uragan 2

Hello everyone...

I've had my Uragan 2 for a few months, and everything was going excellent.

But about four weeks ago, air started leaking out of the barrel, slowly, I fired a few shots and it stopped.

But last weekend, I found the tank empty. and when trying to fill it, the leak through the barrel was so strong that it was not possible to raise the pressure in the tank, even when cocking. Any idea what I need to repair or replace? Has anyone else had the same problem?

HW/Weihrauch  Refinishing beech stocks...

Anybody had any luck with stripping and refinishing HW beech stocks, if so show your results and explain what you did. Or is this even worth the effort?
I'm contemplating doing this to my 97K stock, complete strip, sanding, walnut type stain and then finish with some kind of oil. What do you guys think?
Just looking for options other than buying a new stock for now.✌🏻

Brocock/BRK  BRKs… Boringly, Reliable, Killers…🙈😈

From the perspective of a pesting machine… I’ve owned six BRKs and if things were to go south. You would think one of the six, or multiples would express it. But no, mine have been simply solid, yes, plenty of shooter induced errors. But as far as operational issues with the different BRK platforms? A single one, I had to replace an Oring at the inlet valve on my Bantam Sniper HR, a problem induced by me filling “too” fast. As far as I am concerned the BRKs are the “standard of performance” they simply get it done without any drama…

My first an unregulated Compatto
My second a Bantam Sniper HR
My third an Atomic XR
My fourth, my second Atomic XR
My Fifth, ma sweet Pathfinder XR
And lastly my Ghost Carbine XR

ALL six? Serious arse kickers in practical terms. If you want adventurous tinkering and sussing out problems, purchase elsewhere. If you simply want performance, right out the box? BRKs all the way…😈 I understand there are other awesome platforms out there, just simply stating the BRKs are amongst the highest of the high…

N/A  HW100 unfixable leak ?

Bought this gun back in the winter after a short time it started to leak pretty bad so I sent it to Shane at AOA for complete reseal, well in March gun developed a leak in warranty period and Shane sent me a return label to have it fixed. Gun has been back 2 times since then supposedly fixed both times and it is now sitting in my closet leaking down again, Ive shot 2-3 magazines thru it in less then a week.
Ive about lost faith in this gun getting fixed by them and on top of that Ive paid for a 300.00 reseal.
I emailed Shane and told him it was leaking again and that I was starting to believe it cant be fixed, have not heard anything back for going on 2 days..
AOA has great customer service I just wish they could get my d@#m gun fixed. It was even kept over a week longer after it was fixed this time to verify no leaks, I dont get it. OK done venting.

My Notos Nightmare

Hi everyone.

So I decided to put a Moderator adapter on my Notos. Sounds eas, the video made it look easy, wasn’t easy. Sure screwing on the adapter was easy, but that shroud removal was just a horror. I finally got it done after doing a variety of sketchy things. I almost used heat, but refrained for fear of warping the barrel. Does anyone have a trick they know on how to do it with less hassle?
