HW/Weihrauch  HW97k barrel cleaning

When I clean my .177 HW 97k rifle using the pull through barrel method, I never get anything like lead or dirt on the patches. They always seem clean. I have been using Hoppes solvent. How should I clean and what solvent do you use. Should I be more aggressive than just using a patch? I have been shooting H&N and AA pellets.

Cheap first pump. come on everybody’s done it

After buying my first pellet gun to deter the squirrels which was a maligned Umarex synergis elite. I did find it fantastic and did meet all of my needs for my yard . It did pique my interest in the whole pellet gun thing which led me to a Reximex rpa after seeing it on YouTube. So I got a hand pump . Oookayy I’m 68 and beat up from a lineman’s carear and motorcycle racing ( road, crashed many times 3 concussions 10 broken bones)
Read All the posts about buying a good one, sorry going cheap first. Get a Amaxon $200 one . So far it works.
Reading more I thought I needed water filtration so bought ( picture) this from Amadon . My troubles begin…

JTS  Another try with Airacuda MAX .25

With unwanted "self-tightening" valve spring hopefully corrected, decided on another overall repair attempt. Completed full cleaning and lube, followed by removal of DonnyFL adapter and re-installation of baffles/air stripper. Regulator increased from 130b to 150 and HS adjusted fully in, out enough to just allow side-lever operation. Shotgun patterns and pellet clipping forced return to DonnyFL adapter and (pictured) empty can (STO-FALX) for noise control. Chronograph revealed JSB 33.95s were leaving muzzle @ 650FPS so lighter pellets needed. Out of (26 grain) Predator Polymags, (27.47grain) H&N Barracuda Hunters, JSB Hades (26.54 grain) and H&N FTT (20.06 grain), only Barracudas and Hades grouped. Further HS adjustments and testing showed Hades was best with HS one full turn out, from seated, Six shot group @ 50 yards (pictured) with median of 840 FPS and SD 6.5. More Hades on order, further testing ahead but promising results, WM

The 30Cal ECR ( Electrochemical Rifled ) 25 inch Stainless Steel barrel is a 1:24 twist. This is a barrel that will shoot slugs and pellets.
Electrochemical process for superior firearm rifling

When it comes to the barrel rifling process, Extrude Hone’s Electrochemical Rifling (ECR) distinguishes itself by offering a level of precision and quality that goes beyond the capabilities of traditional methods. With a legacy spanning over two decades, ECR has consistently delivered superior results in terms of rifling quality.

The electrochemical process employed by ECR ensures the creation of precise, polished grooves without any physical contact, thereby applying zero stress to the barrel. This innovative approach mitigates the concerns associated with traditional barrel rifling methods, where stress and potential deformities may compromise the performance of the firearm over time.

SKOUT® EPOCH featured one of the most adjustable, unique and light weight triggers to the airgun world. Unmatched in its versatility, reliability and user experience – much of the trigger system remains intact on the EVO. Simple changes like micro switch position, pivot point and angle of attack have all been utilized to refine the SKOUT® EVO trigger. These changes increase the range of adjustment, felt trigger weight and provide a cleaner “break” feeling to the trigger.

Every component of the EVO’s electronic control system has been tested in real world conditions. The battery pack of the EVO is CE approved and meets all current safety guidelines for lithium batteries, it is also quick charging with a standby time of weeks.

Additionally, the EVO’s electronic components have a modular design, giving the user the ability to repair, replace or customize individual components rather than replacing an entire system.

SKOUT® believes in the Right to Repair, and can provide replacement and repair parts for users who choose to service/repair their own equipment. This is particularly important to shooters in remote locations, or those who frequently travel.

The revised barrel lock system of the EVO allows the shooter to index their barrel without removing it from the airgun. The EVO barrel lock offers infinite adjustment, precise alignment and secure retention.

N/A  Carbines have less power than full rifles?? 🤔

Do carbine versions of springers have less power than full length rifles?
About how much less in .22cal?

Is it myth or real that carbines are easier for a shooter to deal with the hold sensitivity?

A recent thread on AGN made me wonder, but I didn't want to derail it.

Thanks,

Matthias

Have you ever shot someone's target by mistake?

OMG I can't believe that I shot somebody's private target yesterday! I wasn't paying attention, it was toward the end of the day when the wind starts up and basically everyone was gone but the range master and maybe 2 other guys. I just finished shooting 400 plus yards but because of the winds, wanted to see how a quick swap (.25 in it currently) to a .22 barrel with the 40 grain Altaros would do at 200 yards. After turning down the speed it did very good and I was shooting these little bunny silhouettes, shot all of them and happened on a target still out on the lune and shot it a couple 5 times...

That was it and I started packing up. I wave hi to one of the guys as we we both were packing up did not speak to him, he waved back. He had this target in his hands and was so proud of it. I did not realize it was the same same target I shot at until this very morning when reviewing some of the footage. OMG!🥺

There was only the three of us shooting at that time and I go friggen shoot his target!

I am so sorry, I will have to see if I can find him next time I go out. I only see him maybe once every couple months out there.

Skout  Skout Evo 25 cal with Behemoth Silencer over kill

Bought the gun from ThePelletShop, so far so good, no problem. However, firing with factory default suppressor with the gun is still pretty loud. So I decided to put a converter and use Behemoth Silencer from my Leshiy 2.
Oh boy, 5 baffles is already make it so quiet but I do a bit overkill by putting 10 baffles, lol. It's so darn quiet, way too quiet. Look at how long it is now

Here is the sound testing, you can hear it for yourself link

Targets: HOME MADE.

Any ideas? Here is one some guys use. I get a small strip of duct seal big enough to stick necco candy wafers/discs to a target board. I use an old Outers' 22 rimfire trap for a pellet trap. Save the lead for future adventures.
Use the kids' plastic army men from discount stores. I also have hand made similar targets of duct seal. Not much detail but any imaginable shape should work like silhouettes. Reuse them until you can't. They pick up pellets and detritus from the pellet trap. Some ideas to start. As said elsewhere duct seal to hold necco candy discs works well, shoot the disc, then the pieces, then set them on edge. Please put up your experiences and thoughts. Be Well Brothers, dito.

Air Venturi  AV Avenger “under charging”

I have an Air Venturi Avenger 22, bought refurb from Pyramid Air a couple of years ago. I’ve been very happy with it so far. Took it out of the gun safe a few days ago for some target shooting and my compressor won’t charge it past 3000 psi. Put a plug in the end of the charge hose and it goes right up to 4,000 psi no problem, so the problem is in the gun and not the compressor. The gun still shoots fine at 3000 psi, and holds a charge no problem too.

When charging, the pressure gauges on both the compressor and gun agree on 3,000, but it never gets higher. I guess I’m looking at a small leak somewhere on the gun. Any clues where to look?

RTI  P3 regulator

I was shooting today testing new ammo. I had my FX chronograph out and noticed my FPS was all over the place .(pic below) Can’t turn it up. Degased it then tried turning it all the way down and starting over. When filling back up notice the regulator pressure was going all the way with tank. When it was supposed to be stopping at 145. I bought two months ago from TT. Has anyone else had problems with this on p3? I’m currently getting rid of some of my other toys for the money for a Mora for bench. Got me thinking twice about that now. Has anybody had similar problems with the mora? I know some had problems dealing with barrels on them. If there’s any more known problems for the P3 or the Mora, I would love to know thanks for the info guys. At least I bought it that talon tunes so I know I’ll be taken care of.

FX  FX Crown .22 Stuck Pellet and MAG.

I double loaded it... as I have done before... but easily cleared. This time the mag will not come out. I am guessing the only option is to still attempt to drive it out from the front unless removing the barrel will let the mag release. I am not usre how the end of the barrel is made at the breach to know if that will help. As a last resort i could knock the mag out with rubber hammer BUT i fear that is likely to damage something else besides just the mag. SUGGESTIONS?
