I Shot the HW35 Today

Standing, 10 yards, offhand, Beeman Peep and post front sight, RWS 8.2gr WC.
Anyone who follows me is aware how much I try and shoot while standing as it is good practice for silly wet and 10 meter matches.
Today I took a chance with the Star Game not unlike the targets we shot at the county fair when growing up.
It is very easy to eliminate the star when shooting from a rest or while resting your elbows on the shooting booth counter at the fairgrounds.
But offhand, at 79, with all the ailments of age…..

But I took a chance and have decided this will be my daily winter shooting challenge.
I was doing pretty well until I started tiring at around shot #14 (of 20 shots taken) and the wobbles started:

Crosman pellets

I was curious what guns everyone is shooting that they get their best accuracy using a brand of Crosman pellets?

I don't own any high end PCP's, but do own several entry level. The only one that shoots them ok is my Gamo Urban, the rest not so good. I have a few Diana Springers (48/34) and they will absolutely not shoot any Crosman pellets.

Since Crosman pellets are sold in every sporting good store, big box store in the US, they surely have to shoot well in something or no one would keep buying them.

Beeman  R7 Vortek PG4 Kit Chrono Results

So I finally got around to installing a Vortek PG4 kit in my .177 R7 that's been sitting on my desk for way too long.

Here's the results. String 1 are Crosman CPHP 7.9's and String 2 are JSB Diabolo Exact 7.33's

When I pulled what I presumed to be the original spring and seal, my shot strings had extreme spreads in the low 60's FPS and standard deviations 16-19 FPS.

The shot cycle is very much improved with a quick thud and that's about it, along with much improved accuracy and grouping. Not to mention this little rifle is now an 8-8.5 ft. lb gun after the spring kit.

Feels Good

Been away from home for the last 6 weeks due to a family emergency. Sure feels good to be back behind the scope on the airguns. Spent most of the day today shooting steel, filling bait stations- I mean bird feeders, and just shooting and filling air tanks. Even put a different scope on one just so I had a reason to sight it in and shoot some more. Definitely had symptoms of withdrawal. Good thing it was an easy cure.

FX  New DRS PRO not impressed yet

Ok so got a new DRS pro and man the gun is amazing looking and the MDT chassis is very very nice and very adjustable which is so awesome. I have spent the last few days and probably 500 rounds trying to get the H&N .22 33gr precision slugs to shoot good and i cant. I have tried every speed from 980-1025 and just can’t seem to get them to shoot good with this gun. The spread at 100 meters is well over 2 MOA. I think i need to try other ammo. The gun is amazing now i just need to get it to shoot like it looks lol

Do you ever get fed up with Airguns?

I do. Life is some much easier with powder burners. I don't have to worry about temp sensitive, poi shift, reg pressures, etc. I am really trying to continue to enjoy these things but if I where to sell the whole lot of them I don't think I'd miss them. I have had all calibers and price ranges and it's all the same. Maybe if I lived in the city and had to but I live out in wheat country and can shoot anywhere and anytime.
Just me ranting.

They are fun but not my goto for serious hunting for anything. To each his own so enjoy them if that's your thing.

HW/Weihrauch  HW 30s Rear Sight Problem

If I could sit down with my rifle and most of you that shoot Springers I could quickly explain my problem. Explaining it here might challenge me but here goes...
On Oct 28 I received a new HW130 shipped to me by Krale in Belgium. They doubled boxed it. The outer box was in bad shape when I received it and about where the Rear Sight would be there was a hole in the box (photo attached. Oddly, the inner box showed very little damage at that same point. I have read on this forum about guys taking their new HW 30s out of the box and they were "sighted" in perfecltly. Not my experience. The "Elevation" knob (detents number 1 - 8) was all the way clockwise leaving no option to turn the elevation knob any further that way. When you look at the rear sight you see nothing broken or paint (bluing) scratched up. Here's the real heart of the issue: I watched a AOA You Tube on sighting in a new Springer Air Rifle. It's simple and he took a brand new rifle out of the box and seven shots later it was sighted in. I can't do that.
With the rifle supported I cannot get the front sight post in the small cut out - no matter how far I move forward or backward on the stock or what direction I move the rifle in.
1. When you look at the Rear Sight from behind it there is the rectangle that has the small cut out on top that you align with the post on the front site. OK, that whole rectangle is leaning to the left - maybe it's supposed to. I don't know - could you look at yours and see if it looks level or not - making sure there is no cant to the rifle when you check.
2. On that rectangle is a small square with the ball detent in the center of it. The "cut out" on the top is very small. On the bottom of that small rectangle is a slightly larger cut out that is not being used. Is that right? Small cut out on top and same type cut out but larger on the bottom?
I have a 43 year old Crosman 766 variable pump rifle that I can shoot beer cans with at 25 yards and hit them every time. I know that 's not "good shooting" for the standards of you guys and gals but - and I spent 18 months in combat in the jungle in Viet Nam firing a M16 more times that I can count - a lot of that suppressive fire but also some targeted shooting - and lastly, I also had a non-military pistol in View Nam, a Browning 9MM Parabellum (The armor at Phouc Vin could get me ammo for that pistol).
So, I feel defeated by this problem with my HW30s. No dealers where I live (Wilmington, NC) sell anything except GAMO rifles an no one repairs air rifles. I found one guy here locally that's opening a retail store in the next few weeks but I talked with him and he is only selling and working on PCP rifles.
Is it feasible to ask Krale to send me a whole new Rear Sight and on a long shot, if they did, would switching them be simple or difficult?
Thans for reading all of this. I know it's long.

PCP Rifle  NLA Fx Crown MK2 22 cal Gen 2 limited edtion sabertactical chassis

Let me start by saying this is one of the most accurate rifles ive ever seen period. I have never...NEVER lost a match with it. This was my N50 bench rifle it has seen alot of wins. It was named the Hater Creator for a reason. The chassis is bran new and has never seen the outside only for pictures. It used to sit in a GRS but had a shipping issue and grs was cracked. The rifle was recently rebuild with all new seals and is ready to serve for years to come. Barrel retention screws have been replaced with stainless steel screws.

When i say accurate i mean more accurate then you or me, if you shoot groups with this rifle you will get board really fast. Accuracy is hitting what you are aiming at, Accuracy like if you miss with this rifle it is 110% your fault

Only marks on the rifle are where the scope rings made contact with the scope rail.

Rifle is tuned for JSB MRDs at 965 and its a lazer beam. I went through 10 plus liners till I settled on this one in the gun. 600mm barrel. Has upgraded 580cc tank. The rifle is fully tuned by Ken Shapley. Rifle still has a year left on factory warranty as well

Rifle has Company stickers on it but i can remove them for sale if they bother you.

Asking price is 1875.00 shipped to your door. Yea that may seem high but you will never find a rifle this accurate out of box. I have thrown over 1k dollars at liners to get to the one in this rifle now. I have always used a donnyfl Tanto on the rifle. And i suggest you do as well.

Payment by Paypal F&F gift, Cashapp & Venmo. My feedback is solid so buy with confidence. Rifle will ship in Hard fx case with 2 mags. I ship everything fast and bulletproof.

Im not a group shooter this rifle was ment for benchrest i keep getting asked for group pictures so Here is the test target i got with the tune. Picture below

I may be interested in a sawp for a Huban K1.

Wrong place, wrong time for the fat kat.

I set my cuff trap up the other night since my bird feeders were raided again. I figured another coon found it's way into the yard. They're getting smart. They'll eat the bait around the trap but not reach in and get cuffed.

Well, this poor bastard decided he wanted some marshmallows. I tried to free him, but he was less than pleasant to deal with, so I got the 25 jumbo out and sent him to the good lord.

Air Arms  Commercial site aselkon

Hello everyone,
I've recently acquired an Aselkon Ravello RX5 air rifle in 5.5 calibre from a gunsmith here in Morocco, but he doesn’t seem very familiar with this model. I noticed there was an excess of oil inside, and the rifle loses air after a few hours. After disassembling it, it appears the issue is due to a faulty O-ring that hisses, rather like a punctured tyre.

Being based in Morocco, I’m limited to ordering replacement parts online. If anyone could kindly point me to a website where I could purchase suitable O-rings and, if possible, an optional regulator, I’d be most grateful.

Many thanks in advance for any help and advice!

Pellet Diameter Resizing Die

After running through 7-8 tins of pellets. I've discovered my barrel really likes pellets that are .257-.259" in diameter. Anything above and below that accuracy falls off the rails. I looked online for a pellet resizing die and the only thing that keeps popping up are gauges to measure pellets. I know I can get Hornady to spin me a resizing die but is there someone in the pellet industry that has already cornered this market?

Crosman  30 cal 2300 carbine

I figured since crosman is possibly going the way of the 🦤, and parts are already getting hard to find for this beloved platform, I decided to go all out one last time.

I parted out my 357 Mrod a couple weeks ago and kept the parts that would carry over to the 22xx guns. The boyds stock, bottle, trigger, and scope all were harvested.

Started with a 2300 tube since it's not roll stamped and can withstand 3k psi with the right valve screws. I installed a magnum airpower discovery valve along with his 180k screws and drop block. Tossed in a polymer core hammer also from Bill @ Magnum.

I wanted a mag fed setup and side lever, but the only one I could find was the one from the maker in Russia. He only had a 30 cal breech left so I said what the heck, and snatched it up.

Then I needed a barrel with a 15mm OD. I bought a 30 cal Kral big horn barrel and cut it down to 12", made a shroud and modified a moderator to fit inside and also vent into the shroud.

Almost complete, just needs some touchs on the bluing and final shape of the front of the stock, but she's up and running. Stacking 50 grain JSBs at 20 feet so far. Not far, but I wanted to see if it was clipping or not.

Not the most powerful, but still giving me 24 shots on the regulator (2400 psi) and roughly 635fps/45 fpe. The cool part, it's quiet enough for backyard shooting and it's only 36" OAL. The weight is balanced pretty center, maybe a fudge to the rear which is better than forward.

Hopefully this will work well out to 50 yards without too much of a wonky trajectory. Hoping to use this at my dad's on Turkey day on his army of grey squirrels.
