Snowpeak  Snowpeak M16

I just ordered a snowpeak M16 in .22. Really excited to get it and start shooting.

I am looking for suggestions on a scope to put on it. Main purpose will be small game game hunting and some target shooting. I don't want to spend a bunch on money on a scope but would like something decent.

What would everyone recommend?

RAW Rapid  RAW reg problem.? it's a Huma

I noticed my strings after cold shot were starting way low & moving up slowly with big swings, up to 25fps at worst. I fill from 210 & refill at 150+. The closer it gets to 150 the more consistent it gets but its a small window. The reg is a huma. Should I just ditch the huma & get a factory one from Martin ?. I'm using a .25 barrel with the big spring. The spring adjuster is working with a large fps swing for in & out. at least 50fps. something has to be wrong..could be me..lol The cold shot on this RAW is horribly slow, I don't know if this is normal as Ive only owned this one. Actualy the hammer spring will adjust maybe 80fps + the more I think on it. seems like alot.

N/A  Starter PCP one size fits all? : .22 vs .25 vs .30?

So... as mentioned in another thread I have somewhat outgrown my break barrel pellet gun, and I am overgrown with pests, ranging from gangster squirrels to raccoons. To date, I have used my worn out Gamo on starlings and squirrels, but my Gamo Whisper has a problem I don't care to chase and fix. So the new rifle, preferably regulated PCP is being discussed.

As I work through manufacturer and used v new details on the brand and model, I'm also trying to figure out the caliber tradeoffs. This is primarily a gun for "hunting" by way of pest removal. However, accuracy is absolutely mission #1.

Downrange energy retention comes in as a second, but still important.

So with that in mind...is there generic accuracy vs caliber guidance? I'm leaning towards a .25, as I have seen some solid performance reviews of accuracy for the guns I've been considering in .25

Is accuracy degraded for larger calibers? Sort of : Expect best performance for .22, somewhat degraded for .25 and more accuracy loss going to .30? IF so, how much? My squirrels won't know the difference between .35ctc groups and .50 ctc groups. But my raccoons would notice the difference between .22 and .30 at 30 yards. (I'm not hunting hogs, likely not coyotes). I do note that ammo selection for .30 is not as varied as for .22 or even .25

Sorry about the OCD flare on this. You should see me when I try to buy a new laptop.

My cat blew up my compressor

Well played, Monday.

TLDR: Need recommendations for a new compressor with a time / temperature emergency shutdown, or at least a way of avoiding this in the future. Also, my cat is fine.

For those who live to read spilled tea... here's what happened:

I woke up on this wonderful Monday morning with the usual heroic dose of middle-aged back pain, begrudging the morning school routine of shoveling kids out the door. I went downstairs to start the day, and was greeted by the smell of smoke, burning oil, and the unmistakable hum of my yong heng compressor.

My rotund tom cat - whom I keep in the garage at night - had stepped on the power button on his way to the food bowl, no telling at what time. It was obviously him, nothing else lives in the garage, and I had moved my compressor to a spot close to his bowl.

The garage was full of a hazy white smoke, smelled very strongly of burning oil, and my terrified cat was hiding in a drawer, poking his head up and crying out in feline terror.

Obviously the water cooling system wasnt on, though I never use it because I just fill my guns directly and that never takes more than 20 seconds. It also has an auto-shutoff, but because it wasnt hooked up to anything it never quit.

Common sense tells me not to trust the compressor from here on out, not unless someone here has experience with yong hengs being indestructible? I dont believe thats their reputation. Perhaps they are easy to rebuild, or perhaps it should be replaced.

-----------

Ideally I'd like a compressor that has its own integrated cooling system, and one that's smart enough to shut down on high temps or long runs. I'm starting my search, but I also want to ask real humans what their thoughts are?

Thoughts and recommendations?

FX  FX Impact M4 - 300 Bar - Needs First Regulator ?

I've placed my order for a new .22 FX Impact M4 and knew from much research and reviews already that FX have removed the 1st regulator, apparently the new brass pin in the 2nd regulator can handle higher reg pressures and so there is no need for the 1st reg anymore, it all sounds good so far.

When I was looking through the FX manual online I couldn't find much information with regards to fitting a 300Bar bottle to the M4, the information was getting a little hazy with no direct answer.

So I contacted FX directly and asked them if I can just install a 300bar bottle straight onto the M4 would that work or is something else required.

FX replied with:
"To mount a bottle with 300bar you need to install a first regulator that is mounted on the Impact M3. It has art no 20540 Bottle connector Impact M3 cpl. Also manometer for the first regulator. You see this on the exploited view on the Impact M3 here in section D F10370-Impact-M3-230925.pdf (fxairguns.com)"

So clearly from FX's response the M4 is not designed or supposed to have a 300bar bottle & fill, as the now only "2nd regulator" must not be able to cope with that pressure despite its new design / brass pin.

This is really disappointing, its essentially a downgrade and you now have to spend more money and time to reinstall the first regulator & manometer etc, just to get a 300bar fill on it, but on the M3 you could just screw set the pressures and put on the bottle, job done.

Whats everyone's thoughts on this ?

Hatsan  This could be one of the best $400 PCP pistols?

Really for this price how can you go wrong? While not as powerful as the Huben, it is certainly accurate and plenty powerful for the masses. Mine was registering 15 fpe in .22.

For those of you who wish to discuss consumer support, I chatted with Hatsan USA before doing this review. They wanted me to share that anyone needing support should use their Customer Support form linked here and not try to get ahold of them by phone. As long as you are within warranty they should be able to help you out, even send out parts if you are able to DIY.

Enough chatting, checkout my review below.👇

Notos and the Ringneck Dove

Notos .22
14.35gn JSB Exact @ 757 fps / 18 fpe

Was just cooking a burger and saw a dove drop down into the back yard. Ringneck Doves are invasive species here in Arizona so always fair game. Try to thin them out, they kinda push the native (and smaller doves) around.

Grabbed my newly acquired Notos and cracked the back door open ever so slightly, just enough to squeeze a pellet through and pop, a little appetizer. Caught him right at the bottom of the breast as he was slightly angled away, and pellet went through the lungs and across to the opposite shoulder. Not used to vital shots, almost always take headshots so at first when he started fluttering away I thought it was a bad shot but the shot went where I placed it and he went about 2 feet and that's it, motionless.

Not much breast meat but it's tasty. Cooked it up right away, burgers and dove for a quick meal :)

Really am liking this little Notos

2 mags

Aluminum Scope covers

Custom Orion Iguana Hunter moderator.

Looking to sell for $750, or $625 shipped, no scope.
