FX Impact

Two for one tunes, I've been wanting to tune my M3 for JSB monsters 25.39 and had time today, so I raise the reg and set the adjustments to shoot them @920fps then backed the Macro from 16 to 4 and the 18.13s are shooting 890fps. both are getting good groups considering the wind is howling today 12-20 variable from around 4oclock position from my shooting table. Heres my groups @ 40y. Blues are 18s greens are 25s and yellows are a sighter. About 6shots in each group more or less

Benjamin  Unhappy with de-pinger for .22 Benjamin Marauder air rifle

I purchased this de-pinger for my .22 Benjamin Marauder rifle: https://hillairgun.com/product/hill-airgun-pcp-depingers/

I installed it yesterday following the installation instructions (maybe I made a mistake, I do have a question, see below please), filled the gun back up and did some shooting. I must say I am not impressed. To me, the gun sounds the same. I also noticed that the gun went from 3000 PSI to 2500 PSI after one magazine, where as before the de-pinger I'd be at around 2600 PSI after the first magazine before the de-pinger (I don't know the exact PSI but I know that by the end of the third magazine I was at 2000 PSI from 3000 PSI).

I removed the factory de-pinger, inserted the Hill de-pinger (large opening first) and pushed it in until it could not longer move. This is where I have a question: The instructions say "Push it until you feel it stop against the gauge port". Since I pushed it in until it could not longer to in any further, does that mean I reached the gauge port or should I have stopped pushing it in before that?

People seem very happy with the de-pinger so I am blaming my insatisfaction with it on me and possible mistakes I made during the installation. Any advice? Thank you!

AEA Centerpunch 30, 50.5 gr, 950 fps

So, just a survey of my fellow quantitative shooters out there. Labradar 1 data and group size are metrics.

I purchased some AEA pellets and so far, so good. The Center punch 30 cal, 50.5 grain are going out of my RTI P2 at an average of V0=951.4 fps with a ES of 6.78 FPS and SD of 2.45 fps. KE 0 is 102 FtLb. Group size is excellent. Regulator pressure is 170 BAR with just enough spring preload to reliably have the hammer knock the valve open. The AEA pellets "SCHWACK" my 50 m target with 83 FtLb of KE and practically uproot the 22 rimfire spinner. So satisfying!

Any tips? Do you guys see any glaring flaws in my data or results, the correction of which might lead me to even better results? A low reg pressure of 120 BAR restricted V0 (muzzle velocity) to 875 ish fps. The pellets are still accurate at 950 ish V0 and hit harder.

Let me know,

Mike

Congratulations to the new Italian champion Elio Brambilla

We would like to congratulate the new Italian champion in the Airrifle Benchrest 50m Unlimited Mr. Elio Brambilla.
Mr. Brambilla is not only the new Italian champion but also holds two national records:
Italian record on 2 signs with a score of 494/14.
Italian record on 3 signs with a score of 729/25
(Surpassing his European record from 2023 by 19 points)

and is the European champion from 2023.

He started using our slugs in caliber .22 ATP King 40gr 5.52mm it just 3 weeks before the World Benchrest Championships in Pilsen in 2023 and the day before this most important competition, we delivered new packs of slugs, yet he still managed to win the title of European champion .
Since then he has been winning domestic competitions and we believe he is a hot candidate for the upcoming World Championships in Finland 2025

Among other things, became Shooter of the Year 2024

Once again we congratulate him on a great end of the season and thank him for excellent representation of our slugs.

Let's talk radar chronographs

I'm in the market for a radar chrono. I ordered the Garmin and it works like magic, so I'm liking it pretty well. I'm still in my return window on it and am jonesing for the FX True Ballistics Chrono, as my analytical mind wants all the info I can get. But, here's the deal.

The FX doesn't have a ballistic model for pellets, (I'm guessing it will someday), so you're not going to get any kind of real data that will enable you to simply run a ballistics model and shoot the drop table and hit like you would if it had the appropriate bc model? Correct?
So, if it doesn't give me that info, then the only real gain I would have is velocity at different ranges, which is nice, but doesn't really tell me much to go on. I'd be more accurate by simply shooting a couple or three distances and calculating bc, and it would be as close as the $900 chrono.

From that premise, I have to say the Garmin looks better to me. It seems accurate compared to my old CE ProChrono light chrono, and never gives me any headaches. I know muzzle velocity and extreme spread, for tuning, and the FX wouldn't give me any more useful data?

What's the consensus?

HW/Weihrauch  First post: HW30s just sat there in it’s box!

Hi all, this is my first post so please be patient!

I got the happiest of things this week; a brand new air rifle! Due to unhappier circumstances, it is still sat there, unopened in it’s shipping box.
Staring at me!
I have heard there is joy in the anticipation, but I am starting to wonder if that is just a load of bobbins?!

This isn’t my first HW30, but it is the first for a while. The waiting is driving me crazy!

I just thought I would share

Accuracy vs Precision from My POV

I tune and test indoors at 20 yards using a 10 meter Precision Air Rifle target and my PQP 1-piece rest.

100 % Accuracy is determined by the barrel-pellet-tune being able to place the POI exactly on the POA

100% Precision is based on the shooter's ability to repeat the same exact POA multiple times.

Using a Match Pro 1st Focal Plain scope, I adjust my magnification until my crosshair dot fills the center dot of the bull AND one of the bull's outer rings dissects two mirror image dots, one on each side of the Christmas tree. These three points form my Precision POA.

I then test pellets and change tunes until I find the pellet-tune that allows the barrel to center punch the center dot on the target 5 times with an edge to edge dispersion distance of 1.08 to 1.13 times the maximum outside diameter of the (pre shot) pellet I am testing.

I then chronograph the tune and the FPS/FPE defines the maximum distance and target I will be using outdoors.

Once outdoors, I know the rifle is accurate and now it is up to me to adjust the POA correctly according to conditions, in order to be precise, which of course in N50 is defined as 250-25 X for each of three cards.

So far the Precision of the rifle's earth to trigger interface has been very disappointing for the rifle.

Accessories  WTS Custom cerakoted Saber Tactical & DonnyFL upgrade parts for FX Impact

Hello AGN,

Looking to sell the follow custom cerakoted upgrade parts for use with any generation of the FX Impact:

-Saber Tactical FX Impact Top Rail Support (TRS) Standard ST0034 ($250)
-Saber Tactical FX Impact Arca Rail 2 ST0022 ($160)
-Saber Tactical FX Impact Ambidextrous Cheek Rest ST0054 ($35)
-DonnyFL Sumo 0.25/0.22 Moderator ($150)
-Factory FX 600mm Barrel Shroud ($100)
-Factory FX Cocking Bolt ($30)
-Hogue AR Grip ($30)

All of these parts were professionally cerakoted in "distressed red and black" using a multi-step process where the parts are actually cerakoted twice in the two different colors then hand sanded down to reveal the color underneath. This time consuming process costs about $300-$500 (depending on the number of parts) to do given the time and labor involved. If you add it all up, you're looking at $755 in parts (before tax) plus the cost of cerakoting so you're looking at about $1,200+ in value.

Price here for this bundle is: $600 shipped within the continental US (will not separate)

[Please note: the last two photos below show all of these parts installed on an Impact M3 so you can see what it all looks like fully assembled. I also have the two rear plates by the butt-pad that are also cerakoted in the same distressed red/black color - however, they're currently installed on my M3. If you're looking to purchase this bundle for your Impact and want these rear plates included (at no additional cost), we can trade those for your factory black plates.]

Local pickup is available in the SF Bay Area - otherwise, payment by Paypal Friends & Family is preferred (or add 3.5% if using PP Goods & Services). I have plenty of feedback both here as well as dating back to the old Yellow Forum so please feel free to do your due diligence and know that you're dealing with a reputable trader.

Air Venturi  Avenge-X will not fill after bottle installation

Just finished the install on my Avenge-X .22 conversion to a bottle. I degassed the rifle before removing the tube, then went through the fairly simple installation of my new bottle. Now I can't get the rifle to take a charge. The degas screw is tightened, the compressor works with other rifles. When I put the new bottle on it I tightened it by hand. Tried charging it with the rifle cocked and on safe, also tried with the rifle action open and closed. I had a Beeman that needed to be charged with the rifle cocked, so I assumed the Avenge-X needs to be cocked also. I'm stumped and Pyramid tech support has gone home for the day.

RAW HM1000X LRT for sale $1200 + shipping CONUS

AS NEW. , bought last year. Its .25 cal and I bought it to try getting into 100 yard extreme bench rest.

I also bought a BRK Ghost and Skout Epic in .25.

I decided to go .30 cal which the other 2 rifles can do with barrel changes, so I don’t need the RAW.

The price is legit as most FT shooters know me and my target making business. Paul’s Custom Metal Targets. Website ; (paulscustomtargets.com)

This priced for a quick sale and is in pristine condition. No marks on the rifle or wood. There is a slight skuff mark on the end of the moderator.(See photo Below) . A scope was mounted and since a picatinny mount it barely shows where the rings were. The rifle is highly accurate as any RAW is.
Checkering is flawless...
230 BAR fill...

Bought the rifle form PA and retails for $2100. Here is an opportunity to get a beautiful as new and highly accurate RAW for cheap... Comes with the seal kit and all that was in the box new.

Payment is by Pal Pal only….!! I will send you a Pay Pal request when we make the deal. I will send it from my business account so you know it is legit and not a scam for those who are not familiar with who I am.

I will absorb the 3% PP fee.

Shipping is based on your location and will ship it CONUS. It will ship with my business discount

Element Titan failure

This afternoon one of my Element Optics Titan scopes failed on me. While shooting some targets at 25m, part of the windage turret came loose. To be more specific: the ring containing the hash marks came undone and now spins freely. If this would have happened in competition, I would have no zero indication anymore.
I would have thought the scope had an easy time, sitting on top of an FX Panthera pcp with moderate power output. But apparently it couldn't handle the minimal recoil of a pcp.
Has anyone else had this part of his/her scope coming loose? I own a second Titan and that scope sits on one of my competition pcp's. And now I do not trust that scope anymore for competition use. It is a low level club competition but none the less a competition where equipment failure is not desirable.

Advice sought on an entry level 10M air pistol

I have a couple of friends looking to try 10M air pistol in our local league, Unfortunately, although I've been shooting 10M air pistol a LONG time, I haven't stayed current on what model air pistols are available/ good for someone getting started.
It used to be any Daisy 717/747/777, Gamo Compact or IZH46 would get you into the sport without breaking the bank.
These days I see all three of those models are discontinued and commanding ridiculous $ when I do see one on the used market.
So far what I am seeing (in my initial search) is the Air Ventury V10 and Crossman 2300S as potentials. ( Either benefiting from a trigger job of course)
Any experience/ advice on these or other suitable options in the $200-500 range appreciated.
Thanks!

N/A  Getting the best of each PCP.

Not all scopes are for all PCP's.

I have learned that in order that you can get absolutely comfortable with each rifle you have to mount on it an appropriate sight, a scope or a red dot sight.

How heavy you feel the rifle is really important for the use you want to give to such PCP.

No matter if the rifle is a top liner, expensive or a budget one. You need to feel absolutely comfortable when you shoulder it. And the scope or red dot sight that you decide to put on top has an extremely important rol.

So.... Don't you dare to think that just because you have a super rifle and you bought a super scope, the rifle will feel really well... You will have to try if the final feeling is the one you are happy with.
