BSA  BSA R10?

Thinking of buying an R10 SE from AoA. Does anybody have one and can offer their opinions on it? Also curious how similar the action is compared to the Gamo Urban (made by BSA), of which I have one. The Gamo is a solid sub 1/4” shooter at 33 yards, albeit for only about 25-30 shots before refill. Is the R10 that accurate? Also curious about shot count with R10.

FX  Has anyone been able to get their FX to shoot slugs MOA at 100 yards?

I tried SO MANY DIFFERENT SLUGS…ran thru many different types and yet I was never able to get MOA at 100 yards with repeatability (my most accurate being the FX Panthera, but with a self given score of 7/10 in terms of repeatable results at 100 yards).

Has anyone been able to do this with their FX and have it STAY a laser beam with slugs at 100 yards? If so, what slug, gun, tune, and barrel length?

Diana  D75 up and running.

Several weeks ago I found Diana 75 at a good price on another forum. I purchased it and it came from Al to Pa in just a few days. I order a scope, Sightron STac 5x20 , and received it quickly along with a rail and set of Burris sings with inserts. Rifle appeared good, cocking arm is very smooth. I took the original peep sight set up off and mounted the scope with max increase of elevation the ring inserts allowed. It shot quite bit low at 20 meters. I ordered a 20 min rail and switched the original rail out for the new one. Was only a couple inches from center. I quickly tired about 6 pellets this afternoon. One dome and one flat shot tiny 5 shot one hole groups. It is s joy to shoot. I hope to do some serious group shooting. Is it more accurate than my TX200, maybe. It is certainly much easier to shoot accurately with then my other springers. It also had a multi directional butt set up. I also took that off, surprise, the butt stock has a huge hollow in it.

PCP Rifle  NLA .45 Bushbuck Laminate

.45 Caliber Bushbuck Big Bore Air Rifle with ammo!
Fun Rifle! It's big and it's got a bang to it!
I picked this one up used a year or two ago and Immediately sent it to AoA to have a once over done on it. Just to make sure all was well with it. It got a clean bill of health and was sent back.
I used it once at the event in Utah. Otherwise, I only took it out a few times.
Comes with 4 bags of 365 grain (it's most accurate), a bag of 230 grain, box of Nelson, a box of Air Venturi Slugs, and a soft case!

AEA  AEA 95 caliber airgun 4000 FPE

I'm obviously not going to buy this thing but I figured I'd post a thread for kicks.

Does look like they will be showing off some other new guns in the next couple days. Hopefully some of them are more interesting to the average airgunner.

But gotta give them credit where it's due. By far the most powerful airgun ever created. It pretty much shoots D cell batteries.

Looks like we may have to wait until late summer or fall to watch Macabespeed be the first one to break one of these on YouTube.

FX  Identifying a small plastic piece I found in my Dreamline barrel

Was shooting my Dreamline after remounting the scope when the accuracy suddenly tanked. I took it back inside and took off the moderator to inspect it. Sitting where the moderator threads into the barrel was a small black piece, maybe 6mm at its' longest point. I took apart each magazine and nothing looked broken. I also took apart the speed loader I just bought, but it looks fine, too. There's a groove on one side where it looks like an o-ring could be.

Ideas?

Other  Ali Express Regulated Drop Block Problem, easy fix

20240228_132743.jpg

Here's the Drop block in Question, you can get these in different colors on Ali Express, they are great addition for a Notos build and gives the Bottle about 3-4 mm spacing apart from the Barrel.
Now the Problem I had with the one I received was the Regulator didn't work, it didn't let any air through it, I took it apart and found the Problem,
it was the Delrin Seat for the regulator piston was not Notched to allow air around it, basically it was a Plug, it sealed the entire regulator cylinder and kept air from getting to the gun, So I took a small round File and filed a Notch into it about 1/2 to 3/4 of a millimeter into the side of it, cleaned and reassembled and now it works great, nice to have an adjustable regulator that is adjustable from the outside, for lower pressure turn the screw in, for higher pressure turn the screw out, easy

here's a full explanation on how to fix the problem

Incessant design flaws.

I figured this could be a useful thread both for those of us who want to kvetch as well as for manufacturers who peruse the forum.

What are some airgun design flaws and basic safety/quality of life mistakes that you keep seeing manufacturers make over and over and over?

My example is when manufacturers put the air pressure gauge at the muzzle end of the tank so I have to angle the gun toward my face to check the pressure. Even some very high end manufacturers (FX and Huben, to name a couple) continue this frankly dangerous design. I say it’s time that the practice went extinct.

What are, in your opinion, some atrocious and incessant airgun design flaws that need to go away?

PCP Rifle  SOLD Benjmain Akela .177 Regulated Buck-Rail

Hey All,
I recently purchased this from another member. Actually really like it but another purchase just came up so im letting this go.

Details:
I have a nice Benjamin Akela in .177. This airgun has had the barrel polished and the crown dressed. It will stack Polymag Predator Pellets in a single hole! It has the Buck Rail Barrel Band and Scope Rail Support installed. It also has a Huma-Air Regulator already installed for a boat load of consistent shots. The Regulator is set at 2000 psi, but can be adjusted. It will come with everything shown in the picture, which include 3 magazines, the Stock Spring and an extra trimmed spring (it already has a trimmed spring installed). It also includes the long allen wrench needed to remove the stock and the front Picatinny Rail. The Picatinny Rail has been removed for shipping, but is included. This has upgraded baffles, so it's quieter than stock.

$325 Shipped & PP'd. If you want a signature or insurance, thats extra.

N/A  Sure glad it wasn’t an FX!

So recently my wife said she heard air hissing during the night. Then when I checked I discovered my AAA evol had dumped all its air. Upon disassembly I discovered it had blown one o-ring out completely and another was starting to extrude, and was about to blow. After ordering the needed parts and reassembling I discovered it was also leaking through the fill port. This gun is less than two years old.

also I am the new owner of a daystate huntsman revere. Not long after I received it I discovered it was “sneezing” air around the transfer port at each shot. Oh well🤔

Now each of these guns I consider top notch quality and I wouldn’t part with them, so I didnt come here to complain. Just to make a point. It happens to the best of them.

I’ve noticed a lot of complaints about Fx guns being low quality and unreliable. Before you think I’m defending them, I agree they need to improve their QC and Im not a fan of their flimsy barrels. (However it happens to other guns too) But Fx guns do offer innovations and the ability to tune, and attain a level of power that makes me an Fx customer despite their weaknesses. Perhaps it’s hard to offer that much innovation and QC together.

Ive started to compete in nrl22 with an Fx dynamic. I don’t believe there is another airgun that is as capable for that purpose as the dynamic/ panthera. Despite that I’ve had issues with it leaking but I still wouldn’t trade it for anything else.

So each brand/gun has its strengths and weaknesses. No need to get emotional and hate on, or idolize a brand. The fact is (I believe) that we live in the golden age of airgunning. Today’s airguns have a tremendous amount of innovation crammed under one hefty price sticker. 😬 Happy airgunning

7H-QB01 Yong Heng no pressure

My brother gifted me a Yong Heng 7H-QB01 compressor that he picked up for $10 at a garage sale. I set it up and I'm not getting any pressure to build up. The steel lines heat up like I figure they should for compressing air, but after 10 minutes of running there was no change on the pressure gauge. It's not making any weird noise compared to the ones I watch on YouTube, so I was wondering if anyone had advise on what to check for on it.

Air Venturi  AEAC is decoding the Avenge-X in .22 caliber!

Steve has been updating his IG account with daily findings. Figured I'd share the "Cliff Notes" here for you to enjoy.

Huben  Latest GK1 practical accuracy testing

Having now owned and tested my first-gen Huben GK1 .22 semi-auto pistol long enough to conclude it averages 1.4 - 1.5" center-to-center nineteen-shot/full-magazine groups at 50 yards from bench-rest when topped with a 16X rifle scope, I switched to a Leupold red-dot sight to explore more practical applications and accuracy potentials from this actual air PISTOL. Truly a handgun, and of phenomenal power, it is a handgun hunter's dream pistol.

Having stated many times that non-magnifying dot-sights are the most practical sighting system for most handgunning pursuits and scenarios, the GK1 WONDER-PISTOL well demonstrates the reasons for that opinion.

After tuning it for the best power-band at 300-310 BAR fill pressure, I then plotted the best trajectory chart for handgun distances with 18.1 grain JSBs at 930 FPS/35 foot pounds. :D When zeroed at 40 yards, trajectory is a non-issue from 10 to 45 yards; as point-of-impact is within 3/8" of point-of-aim at those handgun distances. For perspective, 3/8" falls within the smallest targets any handgunner on Earth will engage with any pistol. Example- a SQUIRREL'S BRAIN!

In fact, the 3 MOA dot obscures roughly the same target area as the gun is capable of always hitting; 3/4" at 25 yards, 1.5" at 50, etcetera. That, and the previous paragraph being so, it was time to explore the dot-sighted GK1's accuracy potentials at the chosen 40 yard zero distance. G-Whiz sighted in beautifully!

From sand-bagged bench-rest three consecutive five-shot groups averaged .83" center-to center in medium left-to-right crosswinds. The first group (in red) printed 1.12", well-centered to point-of-aim. But to move the poi slightly right in response to the crosswinds, I gave the windage turret one click adjustment to the right. The second group (in gray) went right where I wanted it to print (slightly right). After marking that group and having dialed in not only my zero, but my technique and concentration, the third group (in green) landed inside the previous... and measured just 1/2" c-t-c.

1709143459737.png

Interestingly enough, if not for the windage adjustment all 15 shots would have gone into the original 1.12" group; which translates almost exactly to G-Whiz's accuracy potentials with benefits of 16X magnification. Which brings us to another statement I've made several times; that being dot sights can closely approach actual accuracy potentials IF SHOT AT THE RIGHT TARGET. "The right target" is one that allows the dot to be (seen) well-centered in the aiming spot; aiming spots like properly-sized circles, and squirrels' brain-pans. For all intents and purposes G-Whiz wearing a dot-sight is a handgun hunter's perfect air pistol; a statement I intend to explore beyond small game.

A pack of coyotes has lately been getting all too comfortable on my 30 acre place; so much so as to be making incursions into my back-yard some nights. Suffice to say I'm keeping G-Whiz well charged, fully loaded, and close 'at hand'.
