Macavity Arms MA2 - test and review

First off, thank you Macavity Arms for sending me the MA2 to test and review. The gun performed very well, especially when you consider the price point (under $500 for all calibers). Check out my video review. Suggestions welcome. I'm still new to the YouTube game so I know I still have kinks to work out 😁

Airgun Technologies  Is Vulcan 3 HP a new category of rifle?

This new rifle shoots only heavy and extra heavy slugs.

This rifle in .25 Cal is supposed to give almost twice the power of a Vulcan 3 non HP.

What this rifle can be designed for?

- Extreme long range accuracy (farther away 220 yards)? ....... This could be very attractive.

- Extra power for killing ...... What?

I would like to understand the purpose of this new power level. We might be facing a huge advance in Air Rifles capabilities.

If anyone has info about this new rifle, please share it.

Beginner question: blister vs tin

Just started air gunning not too long ago, so bare with me here. I feel stupid even asking this question but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.
I'm looking at some pellets and I can pick between blister or tin packaging. Blister cost a $1 more.
What is the difference between the two?
Is it worth the extra buck for the blister packaging?

Thank you in advance.

  • Question
How do different barrel lengths affect accuracy?

I'm new to airguns and looking to understand more about how different barrel lengths affect accuracy. Can anyone explain the relationship between barrel length and shot consistency?"

I found some info on this forum and google regarding the subject but was unsure of which were true.
  1. Longer barrels always result in better accuracy: While barrel length can influence accuracy, it's not the only factor. Factors like barrel quality, ammunition used, and the shooter's skill also play significant roles.
  2. Shorter barrels are always less accurate: While longer barrels can provide more stability to the projectile, shorter barrels can be just as accurate if they are well-made and properly calibrated.
  3. Barrel length directly correlates with projectile velocity: While longer barrels can potentially increase projectile velocity due to more time for the gas to act on the projectile, other factors like air pressure, barrel quality, and projectile weight also play roles in determining velocity.
  4. Barrel length is the most important factor in accuracy: While barrel length is important, factors like barrel quality, bore consistency, and the quality of the ammunition are equally important in determining accuracy.
  5. Shorter barrels are always louder: While it's true that longer barrels can sometimes help dampen the sound of the shot, factors like the type of airgun and the air pressure used also influence noise levels.

HW/Weihrauch  airgunspares.com/ let down me down

got an o-ring kit for my HW 110 it started leaking after 7 years got a kit from ww.airgunspares.com/
it sucks, no diagram to show where each ring goes
got out the 2 for the main tube and they are 2 different sizes and both are to large of diameters, did not even bother to size the rest, as by eye none seem to match what came out
forget them, tried to message them but I am a luddite and can't seem to be able to e-mail them
DEAR,AIRGUN SPARE, YOU SUCK
reordered a kit from HW100 Tuning, it comes with a nice diagram that shows where each ring goes,,, mean while I wait for the new kit to arrive, but I am less than happy about having my gun totally apart,
Airgun Spares rings at top, the original rings below

putting a Rat Works air tube with more capacity and lighter weight while I have it apart

FX  Dreamline Holds its own

Dreamline .25 with the 380mm/395mm (whatever it is) superior standard liner. Screenshots are from JSB King 25.4’s. The first shots (around 12:37) were when the tank was full 250bar. The last 10 or so shots (around 12:58) were the last shots of the fourth magazine. 64 shots on a 480mm bottle shooting kings in the mid-high 880’s with a short barrel. I love this little PCP.

If anyone is interested in the mods or tune I put on it let me know. One in particular is not very common and noticeably increased efficiency. The photo of the gun was taken right after shooting this string, you can see what’s left in the tank and where the regulator sits.

Spread 9fps
Standard Deviation 2.5

Now I just need to not touch the tune, ha!

First post/ Airgun advice.

Hey everyone, new to the forum. I've been eyeing a Benjamin Trail NP XL 1100 Magnum (long name) in .22 for a little bit as an upgrade from my Gamo wildcat whisper in .177 but have heard mixed things about the trigger and some other things. For those of you who have one what has your experience with it been like? I have been also looking at a Hatsan model 95 Vortex after hearing decent things about it, but my opinion has been swayed after hearing horrific experiences with their customer service, aswell as the gas piston going out/not being very reliable. Id love to hear about everyone's experiences with both of those, aswell as good recommendations for air rifles. My only requirements are that it can come in .22 aswell as I would prefer to have a gas piston break action versus PCP.

I am relatively new to air guns, so I'm not familiar with most terminology.

Thanks in advance.

Gamo swarm gen2 .22 catastrophic failure help

So today I took my Gamo swarm fusion gen2 .22. Lately the gun seemed to have been acting up but I thought no couldn't be, must just be me. When I first got it everything was good. But over time started to notice some discrepancy. I'm not the best shot but I'm definitely not as bad as what was being put on the paper the last 2 weeks...6 inch groupings at 25 yards? Then would go back to inch or smaller groupings all of sudden. I'd adjust my scope in and it'd be on point perfect for a bit. Then be all over the place and then it would settle into a decent grouping again in a slightly different area and id zero in the scope again on the impact zone and this process would repeat(driving me to question my santity). Sometimes it even sounded like I would get a dud, like nothing would hit the target at all and im positive it was loaded and not a dry fire. Other times the pellet would land a foot infront of the target after it seemed to be zeroed just a few shots before. Now im not the best shot in the world but im not this bad, something was wrong....I just couldnt tell what...I checked the barrel to make sure it was free of obstruction and it was. But the "supressor" at the end started to rattle....then all of a sudden this happend. (Pictures). It still shoots down range but it's all over the place. What would you do now? I love the gen 2. Because of the iron sights I have never liked the gen3. Im very saddend by this....im afraid repair would cost more than a new gun? But they don't make iron sight 10x anymore. I'm just beyond belief right now as to what could cause this??

PCP Rifle  SOLD NRL22 Build FX Panthera 700mm .22 w/ K&L PR5 Rail, Anarchy Outdoors Grip, Upgraded Components & 3 Mags

1.jpeg

Excellent for NRL22 or long range pesting from a tripod. This Kraford & Lypt rail solves the POI shift issues that plague the rifle with the factory rail as it doesn't bump into the shroud like the factory rail and other aftermarket rails. Shooting MOA or better for me with a variety of ammo (currently tuned to shoot 27gn and 30gn at 1000-1050FPS, easy to tune though). Capable of 90 shots with FX Hybrids @900FPS.

This has a custom virtually indestructable valve pin/poppet. It also has a MUCH stronger upgraded barrel clamp that isn't as thin and brittle as the factory part (ears won't break off like the factory clamps).

Adding (1) factory .22cal magazine and (2) custom .22 magazines from Orion in red. The carbon fiber bottle is wrapped in thick rubberized insulation. Also including the factory grip.

For clarity, here's everything included:
  • FX Panthera 700mm .22 ($2K from Bullet Central)
  • Factory hard case & warranty
  • Kraford & Lypt PR5 Stiff Rail ($269)
  • (1) 18 shot factory magazine
  • (2) custom 18 shot magazines from Orion ($60)
  • Anarchy Outdoors grip ($50)
  • Factory vertical grip
  • Custom valve pin / poppet (not making these anymore)
  • Stronger anodized precision barrel clamp (

PCP Rifle  SOLD WTS Vulcan 3 .30 (Derrick Wall tuned)

*** SOLD *** WTS my Vulcan 3 .30 rifle. It was tuned by Derrick Wall to shoot ~130 ft/lbs with AVS 62.5gr slugs. He also installed a 700cc bottle on it. Comes with 3 magazines and fill probe with make quick connect attached.

$1550 shipped to your door (lower 48)
Payment Zelle or Venmo

My intention was to shoot NRL/PRS with this rifle, but I unfortunately do not have the time to do so.

The rifle shoots incredible and below will be a shot string I did earlier today with a picture of the group as well at 20 yards.

Rifle is in solid shape, the few dings will be in pictures below.

Feel free to DM with any questions

-Chris
