I was searching around and noticed there is barely any ar15/m4 platform style rifles and the ones there are not very powerful think any are coming?

Well, boiz, like the title says - I got my first coyote in a hunting scenario rather than just shooting them in the head while they're in one of my foothold traps. Coyotes are such ninjas that about 13 years ago when they killed my cat I got so tired of unsuccessfully hunting them with rifles that I learned to set foothold traps. Trapping is an art in itself, but I always wanted to have the accomplishment of actually shooting a coyote in its environment with a rifle. And that is exactly what I did last night.




So basically the homie Erik got a rabbit that night, & cleaned him for the freezer. That obviously put rabbit scent everywhere. We were then playing around shooting mice with thermals and I had my NODs (PVS-14, Gen3 WP with a super high FOM) on. Saw the neighbor like 3 doors down (250 yards?) shining a flashlight around like he was looking for something. Heard a few airgun shots. Maybe he shot at this (or another) coyote? Anyway Erik was about to leave so we took a jaunt through the forest and saw 2 rabbits, which got a pass since we didn't feel like skinning 'em. Then Erik noticed another critter in the long grass using his thermal (Infiray phone attachment https://amzn.to/49ynxA7 ). I walked out into the path and there was a coyote just standing tall, sniffing the air. With black hot mode on my ATN Thor 4 he stood out like none other! Time went into slow motion. I took a standing offhand headshot at him at 50 or 60 yards. Straight down. The Panthera Hunter Compact .30 sent that Hybrid slug right into the back of his brain. He was doing a bit of a death waggle on the ground so Erik and I both just started dumping on him. Had I not been so excited I maybe would have thought about the pelt and maybe not allowed us to riddle him with holes...lol

EDIT: I did shoot one with the .22 Maverick about 2 years ago but he was across the river and I didn't recover him. I am pretty sure the went down, but not 100%. So to me that is not a confirmed kill, whereas this is 100000000% confirmed! Haha

Had some fun today with these beautiful beasts. The mould I have for the slayer is a true winner.

I drive by this small farm picking my daughter up from school, I've noticed a lot of pigeons on the power lines above one of his fields seems to be more and more as the weeks go by.

What would be the best way to approach this place? I have never ask anyone for something like this before. In today's world I know people are weary of people they don't know.

Seriously considering a new Panthera 500, in .177, BUT I am only interested in shooting slugs. Anyone out there have experience with this or know how accurate this gun can be with slugs??

Many years ago before I got into PCPs I had permission to go after chucks at the local orchard. And boy did I punish them with my CZ452 .22 rimfire, but had to pass up lots of shots. There were also tons of pest birds I couldn’t engage. The years pass, the orchard changed hands and I lost touch and was out. The two local dairies ceasing operations also put a serious dent in my pest kills. Fast forward to this evening when I attended our Sportsmen’s Club last meeting of the year. There I was able to chat with a fellow member who is the liaison for the orchard. Long story short, they need help badly with chucks inside and around the buildings. And I bet there will be incidental shots at pest birds. So come Spring, I will be pesting at the orchard. Am seriously stoked as the orchard is less than 10 minutes away. My BRKs will be unleashed with a vengeance.

It's always nice to have options. Decided to pull the .30 bbl from the Raw and install an almost new .25 bbl. One can switch calibers in 10 minutes. Didn't touch a thing in setting. The .25 push jsb 25.5 @ 960 fps for 53 fpe. The 25 bbl will soon be headed to AZ for the full bull shroud treatment.

Personally, I only belong to one forum, this one. Been on a few others like AR15, Honda VTX, Ford Diesel. Com. I really enjoyed the VTX forum when I owmy 1800 VTX but none of them were as good as this site.

I’m looking at getting a PCP and shopping for a midrange gun. I like the looks and features of the Air Venturi X Tactical, is there anything out there that has comparable features close to that price range? It would have to be considerably better for me to spend an extra 200-300. Most of my shooting will be in the 30-50yd range at targets in my backyard.

Got this with the intention of using it for one of my rifles but that never happened. 20" LW / stainless / .177 / OD .63" / polygonal with no choke.

You know, we've all done it before .You have some component unused so rather than sell it...(the anwser) You buy something more expensive so you can use the stuff up.

Today I went against my judgment and bought an HW30 .20. I already have a 177 and .22 and i'm quite happy. But I have about 20 tins of the old gold labeled JSB Exacts just sitting there from an R9 I sold many years ago.

probably not the best caliber for an R7/HW30 but the .22 I recently bought is quite nice and needed a companion.

question- has anyone used the lighter FTT pellets? I've thought about ordering a few tins.
