Seriously? Raw hm1000x

I just got a new Raw hm1000x Blue laminate .25. Just got is all set with an Arken 5-25x56 and a Impulse Air 1325 moderator. I shot 5 Magazines and all of a sudden the pellet probe is just flopping around loose. WTF? Is the fix for this tightening the little grub screws? I can’t find an allen wrench that small in my tools. I’ll have to pick one up.
My first PCP was the $299 Gauntlet when it first came out and I’ve never had an issue with it, but a $2000 gun and I’m searching the internet for a fix after 60 pellets. Frustrating.

PCP Rifle  NLA Kral Puncher NP03 .22 with scope, mod and pellets. $325 shipped

I have a Great condition Kral NP03 .22 that loves crossman pellets and nsa 20.2g slugs. Everything included in pics. Bushnell Custom Gold scope, 3 magazines, ammo and fill probe. $325 shipped , I am open to springer, pcp or accessorry trades as well.

PCP Rifle  SOLD JTS Airacuda Max as new w/plano case

Not going to be grabbing this rifle to shoot at all so it's going.

Comes in a precut Plano case as shown.

Rifle is as new. Not a mark on this thing. Ten to fifteen mags through it.

Shooting .25 hades extremely consistently.

Rifle comes with 0db moderator, Plano case, 3 magazines, and 2 tins of .25 caliber hades.

I also installed a bt industries pic rail with countersunk t-nuts (the right way to do it)

Attached is a photo of a 1 magazine group at 52 yards and a coinciding chronograph string.

Price for the package is $450 shipped. Just $30 over cost of the rifle alone but with $300 of extras.

Beer Can Justice artillery style at 102 yards…

After hitting the saline bottle on my first and second shots of the evening at 102 yards. I decided to try for the can on it’s end, two shots, two hits, of course I have to walk back out to reset the can… Conditions were very still, wind indicators barely moving. Sweet Atomic XR, CPHPs are dropping 4 feet and hitting!🙀 Never gets old…

Cleaning barrel when switching to a different pellet

Some online articles and comments recommend cleaning airgun barrels when switching to a different pellet, at least when comparing accuracy between them. It could be as simple as firing a few of the cleaning pellets through to, supposedly, remove differing lead deposits that, again supposedly, result from firing pellets of different styles.

Do you do this? I’ve fired more than 1300 pellets, constituting three different kinds, one of which is copper-clad. Have not yet used any cleaning pellets. I’ll soon try two new-to-me pellets and wonder if the cleaning pellets really make much difference for “palate cleansing between courses.”

Smoke from Canada ruining my range day. :(

Wednesday afternoons are the one day the local public range is open during the week. Wanted to get out for some shooting and to test some changes. But, man the smoke in the Northeast blowing down from the Canadian forrest fires is really thick and bad smelling today here in CT. I don't think I've ever experienced anything like this in my lifetime and it's crimping my style, lol. My folks have said it's really bad down in NYC today as well. Anyone else dealing with this?

one solid year

After one solid year of sticks and bucket practise i am thinking of building a benchrest/ FT range for people that are not "sturdy" enough to shoot FT . I just can not pretzel up and be steady @ 78 .
maybe a shooting jacket with internal steel bracing ?
OK rant over going out to practice more .

What's with the Slug Speed fetish lately?

I've noticed lately that more and more shooters of airgun slugs are increasingly looking for higher speeds... My question is why?

What is the benefit of shooting faster, say 1050 compared to 900 fps?

Wind drift isn't better. Yes, the shots are "flatter", but really, with distances known, does that make a difference?

The gun gets less shots per fill, and is harder to shoot accurately, so what is the reasoning other than psychological?

Tough to keep out the riffraff

25 shots at 50y in very heavy wind. 15-20 sustained and gusts well over 30. Mostly a 1:30 headwind with some shifts to 12:00. Don’t know how much I was holding off because I was trying a different scope and had to zero it in that wind. I may see today where it’s at in calmer conditions. I don’t think the low shot was a gun flier. I went to another bull immediately after in the same condition and shot 2 more in the same place. Just a change in wind drift that I couldn’t discern? The main group likely averages around .25 MOA. 😀

38.5 gr slugs at 850

Cursed airgunner

So my FX Maverick i have thrown in under the bed, i really can not deal with that damn gun right now, so i have been using my vulcan 3

BUT ! now it is hexed too.
So the day before yesterday i ran it over the chrony, and saw speeds at 900 FPS, so as i wanted to have a higher speed as a starting point yesterday i turned the hammer spring ever so slightly and shot 5 more shots across the living room and now saw speeds just about 1000 FPS, so that was plenty i figured and put the rifle away.

Then unpacking my Vulcan 3 yesterday,,,,, well somehow without changing anything it would only shoot 580 FPS all of a sudden.

And i am totally at a loss here CUZ i have no idea what could give such a massive drop from 1 shot to the other, well aside for a blown Breech O-ring, but there are no air escaping anywhere when i shoot it.
Putting in a stronger spring i can also get the rifle to shoot a little over 800 FPS but thats also it ( always shooting 13 grain slugs )

Stupid mistake while removing jammed pellets.

The magazine that came with my FX wildcat was not set up properly ( pellet doesn’t advance it smoothly due to low spring power). So, I jammed the barrel with few pellets and I was stupid enough to use one steel rod trying to clear it without even removing the moderator and barrel. Without knowing where the exact location of the jam I applied a mild pressure by hammering it but the pellets never came out 😃😃. After spending a good three days to put the magazine back without success, I realized that the barrel has taken all the pressure and pushed out a piece of metal in the chamber ( picture attached). I filed the protruding metal off but looks so ugly now, lesson learned 😀😀

Greasy Gerry - tick tock….

This is a NV pic of “Greasy Gerry”. He’s a local alpha with a penchant for visiting our grill, removing the drip tray and slurping down the contents like a fine wine. He then settles in to a handful of corn from under the bird feeder for dessert, as pictured.

I’ve asked the local restaurants if they’re interested in a gnarly grease disposal worker, but there’s no takers. So, Greasy Gerry might be stuck with an interview with Mr. Leshiy Classic.
