I'm on fence with RAW hm1000x -Evol- for the 100 yard gig & I seriously dislike shrouds.

Im in a few days I'm purchasing or $ commitment to a dedicated 100 yard only airgun. I have a AGT Uragan in .22 compact for pest duty & .25 full size for 100y. I have shot sub moa w/ pellets but I'm ready for something different to try. I have talked to Martin on a RAW being built slightly differant then offered & will know about that soon. I dislike carbon wraps & really dislike shrouds. I shoot the .25 Uragan bare.. I would go Evol if they didn't do the shroud thing.. & again I dislike them that bad. Also single grub screws for barrel retainment don't do it for me & at least looks like RAW uses 3. I much would prefer a threaded into action gig but doesn't seem to many do that. Are there any other then AAA Evol that are threaded without shroud systems. ?
Thanks Joe

Theoben Rapid 100yds

So, I took this Rapid on trade from an extremely nice gentleman. And All I can say is "WOW"! Its beautiful to the eye, gets a high shot count with 500cc bottle and being regulated, and shoots as well as it looks.

4 shot group with Crossman Premier 14.3 lubed and unsorted with magazine. 100yds!

My final conclusions about PCP's.

Well, after having bought more PCP's that I should had along years, these are my personal conclusions in regard of the rifles I own and have owned:

1.- Buying cheap rifles do not prevent you to ending spending more money.
2.- There are ONLY three air rifle makers that IMO are ABSOLUTELY reliable (quality and accuracy at very long range):

a) Daystate;
b) Airgun Technology; and
c) Western Airguns with the sidewinder.

3.- Of the three above mentioned, the only one that indistinctly will shoot perfectly pellets and slugs are the rifles made by Airgun Technology (Dayatate and sidewinders shoot perfectly pellets).

I hope at least one member of this forum take into consideration my conclusions in order to get to spend less money than the one I had to be able to get to these conclusions.

If no one takes into consideration my conclusions, then at least they could have in mind that were warned.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Taipan Veteran Standard .22

SOLD to H2Okenny, pending payment.

Selling my Taipan Veteran Standard .22 which I purchased new. It’s in as new condition with the exception of a faint bump mark that occurred inside my crowded safe. I just need to thin out the space to make room for an incoming BR rifle. This rifle is extremely accurate and has a dream trigger set to break at 3 ounces. I’ve added a picatinny bottom rail and a 3D printed cheek rest. Comes with all original documentation, single shot tray and 2 magazines. Orange paint dots mark fill port opening and fill pressure window. Replaced the barrel clamp bolts with SS bolts.

  • My tuning notes:
  • Turn HS in until velocity peaks
  • Back off HS 3-5% to find the knee
    • Peaks at 963 w/ 18’s
    • 963 x .97 = 934
    • 964 x .95 = 915
  • Now tuned to 915, w/18’s
  • 65 shots, 250>120 bar
  • AA 18’s are the most accurate pellet

PayPal preferred F&F or add 3.5% to cover fees, money order or personal check (shipped after clearing). I have lots of positive feedback here so purchase with confidence.

No trades or low ball offers. $900 Shipped and insured in continental US.

Shooting at the range

I was shooting at the range today and there was several people shooting, someone wanted to go down range so they asked us if we could go cold and everyone was good with that, I was 2 lanes down from a person that was doing something with his gun, I politely said that I was going to go down range and would he put his gun down, was I wrong to ask him to do that, I get up from the bench and stand back if I don’t need to go down range

Why did I wait so long...?

Ever since I bought my .22 Impact M3 with the 800mm slug liner and tensioner kit I have struggled to be consistant with it. The only real exception was with the JSB Beasts. MOA at 50 yards and .700"-.800" ish at 88 yards. Pushing them at 990-995fps. They are my goto for groundhog and raccoons. I've been shooting NSA 28.5 and 31.2 grains cause that's what I have. I have been plagued by flyers and the need to shoot twice before I could expect grouping. The 1rst regulator was set at 180 bar and would creep to 210 bar. The second regulator was set at 156 bar and would creep to 164 bar. They both were not very consistent even while shooting groups. I finally decided to rebuild both regulators and see if that would help. After watching all of Ernests videos and several from other folks I dove in! I polished the plunger(?)and brass adjuster mating surfaces down to 8000 grit with the 3M polishing cloths. I polished the belville washers, the plunger shafts and all other pertinent areas as I was able. Put it all back together, set the regulators at 175/147 bar, put the scope back on checked zero, which took 2 shots to settle in and proceeded to shoot 18 slugs to see how things would settle in. I shot a few walked around like I do when hunting, took shots from different positions and distances. Dope was off a bit due to the lower 2nd reg setting but so far looks good. I refilled to 235 bar as that's what's in my tank and now after sitting for 3 hrs or so my first regular is at 180 bar and the second is at 151bar. I hope this is where they've settled at. Over the next week I'll work on my tune and hope for the best.

Wiley Raccoon is On My Hit List

To start this story with a quick bit of history .

We have had a known Trash Panda for many months, I have tried to play nice with this rat bastard but now it's on!

I 1st attempted to ward him off with the traditional methods of Very expensive peppermint oil spray on and around the trash can, Fail, this simply attracted the wiley beast.

Next Bungee cord the lid shut, Fail #2, the SOB actually learned to unhook the damn bungee's

Step 3, Bought a steel enclosure for the trash cans, my issue solved.. so I thought.....

We have a Bird feeder in our back yard that has been mysteriously emptying out faster than normal, I thougt for sure it was a damn deer butting his head into it because a bunch of the bird food was ending up on the ground the next morning and all the corn was gone....

Not a whole helluva i can do about a deer, but wait the plot thickens. I set up one of my Game Trail Cameras and looky what it caught red handed last night....

This Rat Bastard will be dead Very Soon!

Taipan Veteran Standard As Good As They Say

My history with PCP airguns began with an Airforce TalonP and progressed to a Condor and two FX Impacts (which are amazing). However, in the never ending pursuit of learning in this great sport of ours, I kept coming across posts touting the reliability, accuracy, and greatness of the Taipan Veteran. I was always intrigued by that, but why would I need one? I have some great guns already. Nevertheless, I loved reading comments from the Taipan faithful and thought it might be something I could consider in the distant future. So, with all that, temptation could not have been greater when the recent sale of the first generation began recently, and I bought a Veteran Standard .25 cal. I have to tell you that I have been absolutely blown away with this gun. It just works- period. It's dead accurate right out of the box- just as accurate as my Impacts, and it's just so compact and easy to hold. I love it. I think it will be my go to gun for a very long time.
This experience has taught me that you really don't have to have the most expensive latest greatest gun to have a great time or even lose a bit of anything. This Taipan Veteran Standard IS the real deal, just like they have been telling me for a long time. Now, I know, experientially, the truth. Thank you, Taipan Faithful, for letting us know.

NEW ELEMENT BALLISTICS APP NOW AVAILABLE!!!

It’s now available today!

All I can say is…now I don’t have a worry moving on to an Element scope. See the only reason that stopped me from buying an element scope is the fact that they never had an app like chairgun or SBC.

Which is why I stuck to my trusty Hawke 6-24x56 and ChairGun.

But now that they have their own app, and with all their reticles…I can move on without a worry. The app is pretty cool too.

You have my praises Element team!

I am looking for a quiet 25cal rifle, any suggestions?

I currently only have a umarex origin 22 but I am looking to try out a 25 in my back yard for raccoons.

The stock origin 22 is pretty dang quiet and I'd like to have something fairly quiet as to not raise suspicion in my neighborhood.

I just saw there is a 25 origin now, does anyone have both and can compare the noise level between them? Are there any other sub $500 25 that are reliable and quiet? Would the air venturi avenger 25 be a good choice?

How much LEAD is to much ..?

For the casting crowd .. I For now I cast to little because I really don't have much time.. but I been buying lead, for whenever I could really doit more often... so what you could call a retirement stash..? 5 thousand pounds.. 10 thousand pounds.. 15 thousand .? How much lead a shorter could go in a month ..? The biggest gun I got is 308 and slugs max out at 120gr .

A quick session with the Taipan at 50

It's a beautiful morning. I snuck out early with my coffee and tossed some pellets out in the yard with the Taipan.

This group is 8 shots. The first two were at a different target to determine holdover.

I hope that you all enjoy the day and take a moment to enjoy whatever airguns you have been blessed to own. Be well my shooting friends! 💥👊🏼🎯

PCP Rifle  SOLD FS - (Reduced) .177 Taipan Veteran Standard

I know the 177 Taipans version don't really pop up for sale too often, and hate to sell this, but I have fallen in love with my 22 mutant shorty, so this one is on the shelf and I would like to make some space.

.177 Taipan Vet Standard all stock with grey laminate stock - shoots the AA 10g pellets at around 870fps, I like to keep the barrel clean so I run a patch through every 300 pellets or so. Shoots well, just like a taipan.

Airgun will come with 2 mags, fill probe, single shot tray, bag of spares + manual + bipod mount attached to underside of stock- Cocking is smooth!

To be clear - laminate stock does has some small marks but not many, black coating on airgun has a few marks also, but its overall in good condition. Largest ding is under the stock near the bipod mount (see pic), the laminate grip does have a small 2mm crack from over tightening the bolt ( can be seen in the pics) but does not affect the gun as its just superficial and can't really be felt when holding the airgun. Rail has a few marks from rings. Not putting the gun down, just want to be transparent. Super backyard friendly, no additional mod needed. Gun holds air no leaks. - ONLY FOR SALE ON AGN and Airguns.net
Also will include a plastic mag holder

Asking price $950 shipped CONUS PPFF
Will be double boxed for shipping.

pm me for any questions. thank you
