Anybody got a personal range?

Now, let it be said, I lost access to my regular range about 4 months ago. Not worth it to the new owners. I have had a few generous offers by fellow members on the forum, but logistics prove fatal as I’m not available weekends. They are normal working folks during the week. What I need is probably a personal backyard range somebody has on their property for myself and another fellow air gun researcher. We would have no issue paying for the privilege to help such host cutting their hobby costs. Limits are within 2 hours of Nassau county . Tuesday or Wednesday, Preferably not Connecticut, as I’m unaware of that state’s restrictions, we would be happy to share our information and trials, and I personally would share accessibility to my guns for the host to try.

PCP Rifle  NLA Pre Airforce RAW .25 LRT

Looking for an Impact M3 but may be open to other suggestions. Let me know what you have. May be willing to add or accept cash depending on trade equity.

It holds air and shoots beautifully. 25.4 Air Arms or 25.39 JSB's at 900 plus with excellent results. I have 2 of these and I will only be keeping my dedicated Lefty. Scope, mounts, and bipod not included.
Happy to facetime for a complete virtual inspection.

Airgun moderators and the 3 letter organization

Reading up on Donnyfl's issues and other airgunners comments regarding moderators got me wondering what the Alphabet org considers a silencer.

https://www.Alphabet org.gov/firear...ers are NFA weapons, and pay the required tax.

Below is the text as it reads on their web page:

"Are paintball and airgun sound suppressers considered NFA weapons?

The terms “firearm silencer” and “firearm muffler” mean any device for silencing, muffling, or diminishing the report of a portable firearm, including any combination of parts, designed or redesigned, and intended for use in assembling or fabricating a firearm silencer or firearm muffler, and any part intended only for use in such assembly or fabrication.

Numerous paintball and airgun silencers tested by Alphabet org’s Firearms Technology Branch have been determined to be firearm silencers by nature of their design and function. Because silencers are NFA weapons, an individual wishing to manufacture or transfer such a silencer must receive prior approval from Alphabet org and pay the required tax.
[26 U.S.C. 5845; 27 CFR 479.11]

Last Reviewed April 20, 2020"

The aforementioned begs the question what is the legal definition of a firearm in the United States Government Code and why is it that a silencer is considered a weapon, when if anything, it saves the average person from years of damage to their ears caused by the harmful effects of the noise generated by firearms.

USC 921(a)(3)

"(3) The term “firearm” means (A) any weapon (including a starter gun) which will or is designed to or may readily be converted to expel a projectile by the action of an explosive; (B) the frame or receiver of any such weapon; (C) any firearm muffler or firearm silencer; or (D) any destructive device. Such term does not include an antique firearm."

Lets agree to not make this political and strictly discuss facts, opinions, and relevant case law as it pertains to our hobby.

Enjoy!

PCP Rifle  WTS Kalibrgun Cricket .25 Bullpup w/Magazine stock

Recently serviced, full reseal and reg rebuild a few months ago.

Not leaking, great power and super accurate. Gun has trigger work done to it as well, very light and consistent 1st stage and second.

Shooting 25.4gr kings at 925-930.

This was my first high end air rifle, and have been reluctant to sell due to its reliability, accuracy and the simple fact it is a joy to shoot.

It has been in the field with me for countless days, taken Fox, Squirrels, opossums and racoons as well as long range shots on pest birds. There are bumps, but the gun is in great condition.

$875 + shipping w/ four factory Aluminum magazines.

I’m hooked on Hubens!

I have actually been wanting to get my hands on one of these for about 2yrs now but have always made excuses and never followed through until now, my friend on here Ctairgunner1288 said he was putting up his huben .25 cal that he shot at NAC(and shot a very respectable score using a semi auto, bullpup) so i bought his, I can’t believe I put off buying one of these for years! These things are awsome, so accurate and mouse fart quiet for having a 70fpe tune from Kevin, now I’ll be looking for a .22 cal K1 ☺️☺️☺️ Thanks Kevin for steering me down the Huben path! 😊👍

Barrels and more barrels

Lothar walther, CZ, TJ's, FX - Really barrel liners, BSA, and I'm sure several others, I'm not one to claim expert knowledge on all barrel variations and brands. These are just several respected brands in our hobby. The best? Please, I'm not going to start that nonsense. FX makes several, ever evolving liners that suite their purpose extremely well when tuned well. CZ and TJ are standard steel barrels that perform well with a good amount of different ammo. Lothar walther does exceptionally well with the properly paired ammo, ammo picky , but but very effective when paired properly. While all have strong reputation I find myself always being drawn to CZ. The pellet / slug versatility from a stock barrel draws me in. Now , yes FX wins many contests, I've never shot a TJ barrel platform, but heard strong reviews, otherwise He would not be in business. Lothar walthar is good, but doesn't possess the versatility or projectile friendliness. The polygonal LW and CZ are still unknown to me at this point, but I seriously doubt they suck.

Help with Brocock

Hi, I am new to pcp and this Brocock Contour S6 is my first and only pcp I’ve ever owned. I bought it for myself along with a Hill hand pump when I retired eight years ago. It worked perfect and was very accurate for over a year then it stopped holding air.
I’ve never worked on airguns I have on firearms but have no idea on what seals need replaced.
I have searched the net and haven’t found much info on this model.
So what happens is when I hook up the pump I’m able to pump to 200 bar no problem but when I release the pressure valve on the pump all the air comes out.
Can anyone tell me if I ordered this Brocock seal kit from the UK would that first step on the right directio.
Thank you and I’m sorry for my ignorance on this matte.

Most desirable thing in the airgun world?

There are obviously many things that are desirable in this hobby. But what is MOST desirable? To have your own compressor? Cost effective pellets / slugs? Projectile friendly barrels? All would be great, but, I feel the absolute best thing is to have your own personal range. No range fees, no extra travel, no loading and unloading a multitude of gear each time. Now all you breakbarrel folks got the rest of us on this granted. Just to have your own range with no problems with neighbors, or with cool ones, life would be great for a shooter. What say you?

Gen 2 25 marauder tune

Hello,
I bought this gun years ago used and have just hunted with it and never tuned it. He said he power tuned it but it seems not so much with what I chrono graphed today.
2950 fill shooting jsb 25.4 exact kings
16 shot average of 761, SD 15, spread 52, about 34fpe.
Ending at 1800 psi ave of about 67psi per shot.

I don't know what these should be going velocity wise and the gun is accurate. Seems slow to me. It is all factory not aftermarket. Hammer spring was 5 revolutions cw out from all the way screwed in and hammer stroke was 4 turns out from all the way in. The valve was about 5 out from closed. I don't know what do to do. If you get it back to factory settings I would and see what is does. Do any of you guys know the factory settings or what to do. I just squirrel hunt with this so I would like at least 2 mags before having to fill back up. I'm new to this tuning so I need so guidance.

Thanks
Jon

Crown upgrade from .177 to .25

Hi. Im thinking about order a .25cal kit to my crown mk2. But do I need something else than what comes with the probe, liner and shroud?
Hammer spring or heavy hammer to get to the dessired speeds that .25 need?
I cant see im getting near ok speeds with .25 when I only get 850fps with 13.4gr .177 (but my tune is probably way off i hope)
I Just want to know so I can order the parts i need at the same time.

Rebuilding FX Royale 400

Air rushing down the barrel. I assume that means the main firing valve is leaking through. I replaced all o rings and still the same. Il thinking the seat o ring is the likely culprit. The seat itself is steel on steel. How does that seal?
Also, if I try to use the recommended o ring on the seat itself it is way too large and shears off up insertion, what's up with that?
Watched a video on YT and he pushed the seat in easily, any clues?
