N/A  Quietest Brake Barrell

I am replacing my old Gamo 22 that is more than 70 years old. Looking for a pest rifle or long stocked pistol to shoot squirrels. at a range of 20-30 yards. Sometimes less. Need at least 10fpe. Need to have a scope or capable of mounting.

Priorities are.

1) as quiet as possible
2) Accurate to forty yards
3) Lethal to a squirrel head shot
4) Economical because I wish to buy a PCP for coyote night hunting.

Researching I find there are too many brands, models, etc. making a selection too frustrating. Local stores don't have pellet guns that are for display so I can't get a feel. The local Cabela’s has everything in sealed boxes. Clerks don't really know anything about guns, etc.

Any ideas or help?

Get a life, get a dog, get a wife, get out and shoot your air gun!

I've found some members here to be very helpful. Other members seem to just complain every chance they get. They come off as discouraging, disgruntled, angry, irritated, grumpy and downright unpleasant. Get a life, get a dog, get a wife, get out and shoot your air gun. Just stop ruining the intrigue and excitement of air gunning for everyone else!

Thanks for having me :) I've learned a lot from most of you.

N/A  Name most affordable .177 or .20 pcp that can fairly easily put out 28-34ftlbs with 13.43 & 16.20

Yes I know that the .177 is hard to hot rod and less efficient.
.20 available in 15.89. Hope they aren’t all deformed like soft .22 15.89.
I like the 13.43 and 16.20 for pesting out to 110 max. But I use .25 for targets up close to see hits better. It depends on what you’re shooting at. This beast of a .177 is desired for long range targets and pests.

I, don’t mind single shot. I like quiet and no ping. I don’t like guns that don’t fill via FF QD. A probe is a deal breaker for me.
I know what I want but wife would be really rightly mad with me. Oh boy. $1700 mad.
So what should I get? Avenger pup? I don’t really like AEA unless it’s refined and quiet. I don’t think they even come in .177

Ballistol Liquid vs. Ballistol Aersol

I ran out of Ballistol liquid, so I went out to buy more locally.
They were out of the liquid, so I grabbed a can of Ballistol aersol...
Now Im wondering...
Are there any harmful additives in the aersol verson of Ballistol ?
I primarily use it for cleaning PCP barrels with pull through patch's.
Thanks in advance.

Cheapo Amazon Chrono OK

Sold under a bunch of different brand names. But all from china probably the same manufacturer. Instructions are *well you know*... translated rather odd.
Mine does read fps. I shot about five air guns That I had data on previously with my Oehler P35 and Pact 1. Data was pretty done close. I did have to be very careful to be straight on when I fired the pellets where I was getting velocity variations once I figured it out. It was very uniform.
I'm not a guy that lives or dies by watching coronagraphs so this is just a double check when i'm done tuning a gun to get a baseline before and after

Overall not about 30 bucks spent.

N/A  Indoor shooting

Well being as it is to cold to be shooting outside, and my wife asked me kindly to stop shooting the AAA HPS 30 inside.....I grabbed the 10m rifles and did some shooting. After buying and rebuilding the FWB601 I am falling for this sweet German rifle. The stock is a little rough but man can she shoot!

Also grabbed the Anschutz 8002 S2 that Tyler upgraded for me to shoot 12ftlb and it is a blast to shoot. Did some shooting at 10m just to get some trigger time, as well as making sure the rifles get used.

I STRONGLY suggest that everyone have a 10m or 12ftlb rifle to play with. There is nothing sweeter than shooting these sweet girls. The shot impulse is next to nothing, and they won't hesitate to show you where you are messing up.

Top target is from the Anschutz, and the middle and bottom are from the 601. Was trying another pellet with the 601 and changed targets. Each group is 10 shots from an Armageddon gear big bag and a schmedium for a rear bag.

Let see what you guys shoot when it is -40° outside and your to cold to venture out. Lol

Pistol FT - How do you carry gear?

Looking at trying my hand at some Pistol HFT this season and looking for ideas for hauling gear out to and along the course. Its a good 100yd walk thru the woods to get to the course and then the course itself.
What do folks use for this? Currently I have my pistol in a hard case which is not ideal due to weight and size to use to haul it around. I also need to carry my small buddy tank, and a few other small items. Was hoping for some sort of divider bag like I can lay the pistol in after I shoot. Bags are quite larger than the pistol. Mine is only 20" long.
Thanks

Will these two play nice together?

I’m curious if anyone has paired these two pieces with success. The saber tac buttpad with the KL bag rider. I already have the buttpad, and am looking for an option when it comes to a bag rider. My ergo grip does not allow me to use the ST bag rider that they offer and I really don’t think I want a monopod. What are your thoughts everyone.

FX  Still Enjoying My FX Royale 400! What Are You Shooting?

Ah yes, another great PCP air rifle that passed the test for me. I have much love for FX Airguns but my experiences have been BEFORE they went to the barrel liner concept. I think they were on top of their game with the Smooth Twist barrels for shooting pellets. I’m more of the set it and forget it crowd so hotrodding airguns ain’t my thang.

This thing just shoots! I don’t have any coo lpictures of paint balls exploding or my beloved offspring wielding an air arm but I do have some simple images of my results of picking up the gun and shooting 20 pellets through it at a very modest 35 yards at dots marked on cardboard. Even with a couple shots pulled I am pleased to show off these groups. It shows the great precision that this rifle is capable of despite the nut behind the trigger.

Happy shooting my friends!

PCP Rifle  NLA Sold Mad dog benchrest stock $150 shipped

I have a mad dog benchrest stock in decent shape. It is for a Airforce condor and the like. It does have some issues above the grip area . The little wings had some cracks but the bolt goes through the grip so it is still very secure. I spread the cracks open and put epoxy in it it and clamped it together. It can be refinished or used the way it is in my opinion.

becouse of that I can ship this to the lower 48 US for $150

Did I buy the Wrong Compressor?

My first PCP was an FWB P8X. When I bought that pistol I also purchased a Hill multi-stage hand pump. That combo worked fine at first. When I started acquiring rifles with higher volume cylinders it seemed like a good time to get a powered compressor. I ended up getting the Hill EC-3000. The compressor works fine but it was kind of pricey and it is quite heavy, loud and it vibrates quite a bit. Those are really it's better negatives. The bigger issues are that it is not rated to fill tanks and has a somewhat limited fill pressure. While it's still plenty to fill my larger rifle cylinders up to 250 bar, I'm sort of disappointed that it couldn't (or shouldn't) fill a CF tank and just can't fill some of the larger bore rifles requiring higher pressures -not that I have either one (yet). I would like to get something with those capabilities that is also lighter weight and that can be run in the field from a 12V source. The ones that come up most frequently so far in my searches are the Yong Heng Portable and the GX CS4. Are either of these better for occasional use or is there something better out there? I'm an infrequent shooter so I don't want something that's going to require frequent maintenance or go bad just sitting for a month or two at a time. Given that use case, is the EC-3000 even the right compressor to have?
