Other  My two latest

IMG_20240113_121723311_HDR.jpg

Here are two I recently found. The top one is a Daisy model 120 and the other is a Chinese side lever. Both .177 caliber. The Chinese gun shoots great but the Daisy, for some reason unknown to me, will not shoot a pellet thru the barrel. Everything functions as is should and no damage, at the breech or in the barrel is obvious. It appears to put out sufficient air, blowing a hole in paper or leaves, but a pellet travels about half way down the barrel then stops. Recocking it and firing it a second time clears/shoots it. I intend to clean & lube the bore and see if that fixes it. Both guns look good with no cosmetic problems. They were both cheap.
I bought the Chinese one to convert it by restocking it to look like an old muzzleloading Kentucky rifle. I'm looking for a source for octagonal tubing to put around the barrel to complete the look of a Kentucky rifle.

Huben  .25 GK1 V3

Took delivery of a .25 GK1. Tuned it for a mag (17 rounds) on a fill. Settled on 310 bar fill which produces great results. This is my second GK1 and I’ve come to see these pistols are absolutely crazy good. I’ll be trying the 25.39gr Kings, 33.95gr King Heavies and the 29.32 JTS Semi-Dom pellets. Here’s the string with the 25.39gr:

Daystate  Daystate review on HAM

While it's cold and I can't get much done, I decided to give my next airgun purchase some thought and started looking at the Daystate Red Wolf. Having had an electronic DS rifle years ago, and not being all that impressed with it, I wondered if things had changed over the years. I read a HAM review on the RW from Sept '22 which gave the gun a 98%, which is at or near the highest score of any airgun I've seen. What caught my eye was the shot string, and how they characterized it. 38 shots with a fairly erratic drop of 40fps over the entire string at ~1000fps. Which equates to a 4% ES. Now that's not what I would call terrible, but it's not something to brag about to me. What really surprised me was the characterization of it being "not significant" and "well controlled". Do they mean the inconsistency is well controlled? Holy cow! Batman, I don't want this guy on my six sigma team!
Oh well, I was just looking at guns I "might" want. I'm still an old school guy and can't get used to electronics in guns. Funny though, I'm an electrical/HVAC business owner/tech and all my family are electricians, go figure.

N/A  True slug gun

While you can achieve really good and even excellent results with some of today's precision air guns, I feel as though the slug came before the slug gun and that we are still awaiting its arrival. Perhaps there is so much money to be made trying to find the right slug, barrel, regulator pressure, hammer spring tension, barrel tension, moderator etc that producing an air gun specifically to shoot slugs properly, would be economically damaging to the sport overall. We have the ability to do so and relatively inexpensively if we want to, so why not do it? Why create this rabbit hole and the supply enough lubricant to allow any unsuspecting, would-be slug slinger to not only fall but willingly dive headlong into said sink hole? For it truely can swallow all who venture too close, even just to peer over the edge - innocently enough. By design? Say it isn't so! Is there any light at the end of this tunnel? Even a black hole has an exit as it were... .

PCP Rifle  NLA Benjamin discovery 22 LW barrel and Don Cothran power house valve

Up for grabs is my vintage benjamin discovery 22 caliber. Comes with lother walther barrel. Donnyfl 1/2 20 mod adapter
And bran new Don Cothran power house valve with .250 transfer port. Don is retired now so these valves will be very tough to find. The discovery holds air . Its not perfect, metal has some pits but over all not bad. Stock is 99% i got both to build something with big power but just have to much going on and could use the funds for other projects. I have shot the disco and it shoots pretty good as is.

Asking 325.00 shipped for the package. Will not separate please dont ask.

Only trades id be interested in is a Kestrel 5700 or a Doug nobal conder valve with a kicker on your end

And then you got that Guy

Did a re-seal on a gun for a Guy. I didn't have the magazine so the barrel was a hair to deep when I replaced it.
He called me and I told him pull the barrel out a tiny bit or bring it back.
Well. He tried pulling the barrel back and said it's even worse now!
The pellets won't even come out the barrel now! He said.
So he brought it back.
Took the grub screws out and checked the barrel alignment.
Any guesses on what I found?

Huben  More Huben Fun!

Oh boy!! I've been having sooo much fun with my first ever Huben. My new GK1 .22 arrived a few days after Xmas From Krazycool.
I'm so impressed, I couldn't control myself and ordered the K1 walnut special addition .22 last night, again from Kelly.
He plans to ship it out next week.
I'm so excited, now I've been reading everything I can find on line about the K1, just as I did with the pistol, lol.
Been reading about this brand since they came out several years ago. Now that I've experienced this semi platform, (shouldn't have waited so long), I'm even more impressed than I was with my Leshi L2. My only disappointment with the L2, was the small 8 shot magazines. A semi should have more, and Huben checks that box big time!
My 50 yr AG addiction still rages on, 🤷‍♂️😉
Have Fun,
Scott

Can you fill your rifle with a compressor made to fill the bigger bottles

Hi everyone me again. I just want to know if you can fill your gun with those compressors made for filling the scuba bottles. I saw a video made by Patriot outdoors saying they are not made to fill the rifle but the scuba bottles. If I buy one of those I can use it to fill my rifle and later on buy a bottle and fill that aswell

Kral Arms  Kral Puncher Jumbo will not fill

So I received my new Sekhmet digital pressure gauge today. I wanted to replace the stock gauge on my Kral Puncher Jumbo .22 because it was hard to read and didn’t seem very accurate. So took the gun apart and removed the bottle and valve block assembly to degas it. Why Kral doesn’t provide a degas valve is a mystery to me. In any event I put the bottle valve assy. in my vice just enough to hold it. Then I grabbed a small C-Clamp that fit the valve block in order to depress the air valve and release all the pressure. It worked perfectly and took only seconds. I removed the old gauge and installed the new gauge. Put everything back together and started to fill the gun with my compressor. Well nothing happened? The gun wasn’t building up pressure? It seemed like it was leaking from the new gauge threads so I removed the new gauge and re-installed the old gauge but with the same result no pressure built? Then I tried filling the bottle removed from the action so I could better pinpoint where it was leaking. From what I could ascertain it seems like it is leaking from the valve itself where the air is released to make a shot. I attempted to remove the valve stem (for lack of a better term) but it would not budge even slightly. I mean that thing is like frozen? This gun is brand new and I have had it apart before to polish all the trigger parts and it went back together and I was able to fill and shoot it without issue. I’m just stumped and more than a little discouraged. I was really excited to put that new digital gauge in and better see how much air I have been using. I am hoping the brain trust here has had some experience with this and can guide me to resolving this. The gun at this point is completely unusable and that is super depressing. Thank you in advance for any help you all can provide.

Air Venturi  Got some pretty impressive numbers today

Got some pretty impressive numbers from the gen 1 .22 Avenger build. 2800psi on reg, 3 turns on HS. JSB 33.95 @950s. 1 1/2" groups @ 100 yds. I will post target pics after sorting them for distance. Shot 500 rounds today. Lots of targets, lol. This .22 will easily hit 70fpe. Its a powerhouse. Very pleased with this build.

Tuning  Looking for Southern CA fabricator to make tuning jig for my RAW HM1000x

I'm tuning my air rifle and looking for a local fabricator in Southern California to make the jig shown below from aluminum stock.

This will allow me to mount my air rifle action out of the stock with an air pressure gauge connected to the action and a dual regulated air supply providing various pressure from 140 to 195 BAR and tuning the hammer spring weight and spring tension to find the optimum settings for various pellets and slugs.

Drawing obviously not to scale.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

FX  FX Impact help needed

OK, so I ordered the O-rings indicated on the schematics and rebuilt the Impact regulator. Took my time and only had a real issue with the O-ring in the block. Now I seem to be having an issue getting the trigger mechanism back in and working. From all the videos and schematics I've looked at, getting the trigger back in should be the easiest step. Anyone have any word of wisdom or special techniques to share? Thanks in advance.

True Ballistic

I asked this question on a few FB groups and got some feed back but looking for more. I saw a rifle review the other day and they were shooting into a solid backstop at 30 yards yet the chrony was recording velocity of the projectile out to 150 yards. This was at least the 3rd time seeing this from multiple channels. My question is does it just guess what the projectile is doing?

  • Question
FX King block damage

I'm not sure if anyone else experienced this. Had the King now for a few months and noticed a pretty big extreme spread and POI change. I keep my settings the same and clean the barrel when needed so I dug deeper. Looks like the hammer chamber in the block is getting debris possibly from the pellet probe assembly and getting jammed up with the hammer. When I took out the trigger, there was aluminum debris all over it. I took a few pics with my bore scope.
