PCP Rifle  NLA .357 Taurus $1250 shipped

Up for sale is a very nice Veradium Air Taurus. About a year old. I just purchased off the forum. Gun is a blast to shoot and very accurate. The gun will come with a Moderator adapter, cleaning rod and 100 rounds of Griffin 185 gr. boat tails. The only reason I am selling is because I am having Brian make me a Taurus in .257. That will better serve my needs. $1250 shipped

Gun is missing the foster fitting cover and the rubber cover to the trigger adjuster. No scope or bipod included.

My Impact M3 has done something very strange…well stranger than usual

I know a reg takes time to settle after adjusting it. But I went up to 126 bar on my second reg, and today I checked to see where it’s at…and it has settled down to 118-119 bar! Which is way more than I’m used to; usually my other FX rifles would settle back 2 bar at most. On top of that, my first reg jumped up a little from 155 bar to 157-158 bar.

Explanations?

Fx Impact Mags

Have been looking to pickup a couple spare mags for my M3 in .25

The mag that came with it is 28 rounds in .25

Every major seller I can find (including direct from FX) says that the most current mags for M3 are 25 rounds in .25, not 28

Am I going crazy here? Mine is 28 rounds. Pics attached for proof.

So how can I be sure to get the 28 round mag, if they even exist other than this one unicorn that I have... 🤪

.22 Crown 380

The New York winds were very cooperative tonight. 3-5 tail wind with a slight left push. Wanted to test a new tune I put on the .22 Crown with a 380 barrel and wasn’t disappointed. JSB 18’s @ 888fps, (12) 10 shot groups at 58 yards off 1 fill with probably enough left in the tank for 1 more mag

Peri and I took holy grail 2 (evol hps) out to 100 today

Well the @americanairarmsofficial evol does it again. It's all I want in my rifle room now. I was going to try this for prs and maybe I might be able to still and run the same tune for slug and pellet but I think this rifle is going to be my 100y br rifle.

These groups were shot in typical @CTAirgunner fashion and @AirGun_Addicts_Anonymous and many others know, that means with haste lol

These are 1 magazine groups so 11 shots per group at 100 yards. I know for a fact I could have done better.

I will say it again, THESE RIFLES ARE SICK!

Shooting monster redesigns at 955 fps.

Oh and the tastey meal is another thing I'm known for around here, always cooking that healthy stuff :)

Brand new M3 with good 1st regulator

Today a user brought his brand new M3 just to show me and inspect it.

The 1st regulator of this M3 is working great. Quick recovery and very nominal creep. Creep might get better as it will brake in.

Looks like perhaps FX has made some improvements to new 1st regulators of M3 guns.

Let's see through the test of time.

Long term airgun storage and inactivity question

Hey folks,

I have a question about storing pcp airguns long term. I'm curious if I store them for a year or two without using them, is that a bad thing or will it damage any o-rings/other parts?

I've been told to use them every few months, but some life plans have gotten in the way and I might not be able to use them for a long period of time. I'll be storing them in a safe with little to no humidity, but was curious if there's any preventative maintenance I should be aware of.

Artillery Practice with my Atomic XR …

Had a very difficult week, work-wise and family wise… So after mowing, I had this tasty Coors. It’s not a craft beer, but it goes down nicely when one is thirsty. Since I didn’t have a Bud Light🙈🙀🤓🤭 can, the Coors was it. 102 yards, sending CPHPs, wind from the north (my left), 5 shots before the first hit. 10 MILs of holdover and at least two MILs hold off. So about 36” of drop, and 6” of hold off. The second, low hit on the can (9 MILs holdover). Then I hit that saline bottle too! This is with a West Hunter WHT 3-12x44 IR FFP, while a good 60 yards and in pesting scope. Using 10 MILs of holdover, which is at the bottom of the reticle when at 12x leaves a lot to be desired. 10 shots for 3 hits on the can. 5 shots for 1 hit on the bottle. Sipping on a local craft brew as I type this and feeling lucky and blessed. Wishing all you ladies and gentlemen a happy Memorial Day Weekend. “Home of the free, because of the brave.” God Bless America.

98 update. It's a keeper!

I had back surgery Tuesday. Received this used HW98 Wednesday. Feeling well enough to finally piece it together and shoot it this morning.

I optically centered and installed a new 3-9x40 Airmax scope. Theyre my favorite scope for this platform. What you're looking at is the first and only five shots I've fired through this rifle. Four through the upper right hole. The other shot was the third shot which could have been me. I thought the gun might have droop. Which it obviously doesn't.

I have no idea if the gun was ever tuned. If it hasn't it's the smoothest factory Weihrauch I've ever shot. There's white lithium grease abound so I suspect it's been tinkered with. It looks like I wasted my money on the Vortek parts I ordered last week. It shoots so nice, I'm leaving the guts on this one the F alone.

The trigger however feels untouched and unimpressive. I'll eventually play with it. The gun is portly on the scale. 9.78 lbs in this arrangement. That's about 3/4lb more than my HW95 with the same scope and rings. Still it feels good in hand on the bench.

I'm gonna put it away and wait until I can plumb and torque the scope mounting. All my gun tools are in my Arkansas house. Including my chronograph so I have no idea of the guns output.

Granted the test results are from only ten yards but it told me that it shoots smoothly, probably accurately and has no droop. I'm looking forward to stretching it's legs in Arkansas in a few weeks. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase. Thank you Dave.

Be well all
Ron

FX dreamline Tuning help

I've fallen down the FX tuning rabbit hole and need help getting out!
My goal is develop a tune that allows me to shift from 18.1 gr pellets to 20.2 gr slugs by just making changes to the power wheel and the transfer port.

GUN MODS: Base gun is an FX Dreamline Tact in .22 cal and 500 mm barrel. I have added: The 23 step power wheel. Huma heavy hammer spring. Huma 13 gram hammer weight. Huma dual port transfer port. Pin probe. FX superior liner w/CF sleeve. CF shroud. Donny FL FX moderator. I measure hammer spring pre-load by using a digital caliper on the side slot adjustment window.

What I'm attempting is the flattest chrono graph line possible (I'm using an FX chrono). With the reg set at 130 bar, the power wheel at 23, the pre-load at 15.4 mm and the transfer port set to .25/.30. The results for slugs is promising, less than a 10 fps spread and good accuracy. When I use the the same settings and turn the power wheel down to 7 I get similar results but the graph is more shark toothed; the shots jumping 10 fps up and down as opposed to the relatively flat line of the slugs. Another anomaly I'm seeing is that after 9-10 shots the speed drops 10-15 fps and slowly builds back.

I'm using the gun for long range target shooting (200-250 yards for slugs), so consistency is of prime importance. My question is: Am I trying to tune a unicorn? One gun that excels with both type of ammo. Since I obviously love to tinker, I'm willing to try any changes.

World Rimfire Champion gives 25m BR a go

World Rimfire champion Maurice Hassard came out from Ireland to pick up his 25m BR gun that he will use in this years World Cup in Plzen. He shot one outdoor card with it in medium wind to try it out. He asked if it was sighted in, shot a few times off the target, then went to work. I didn’t have any 25m cards so he shot a N50 card. Taking out the dot on the N50 card would be a x on the wrabf card with the .224 plug. His card was either a 249 or 250 20x after conversion. Certainly a great showing for his first attempt with an air rifle and unfamiliar equipment. He’s looking forward to getting home so he can practice. I think he will do just fine. 😀

DIY Gun Cart

I saw one of these on the forum and just finished making a Gun Cart for myself. Thought I would share it with you. I've seen similar carts used by the PB people but this on is specifically for airguns.

I’m fortunate to have a backyard shooting range and can be plinking at a moment’s notice – grab an airgun, a can of pellets and step outside.

When tuning or testing I have to make several trips from basement to bench to get setup for the session so I decided to make a cart to be able to move everything in one go.

The cart is based on a 3-wheel jogging stroller. I stripped it to the chassis and added a wood tray, a cylinder for the air tank and a couple of Kolpin gun grips.

I mounted the cylinder (a piece of 8 inch PVC pipe) directly over the rear axel to keep the weight of the HPA tank at the cart's center of balance and used a strip of packing foam around the tank to secure it.

The wood tray is attached to the frame to provide rigidity. I’ve added a cradle for the LabRadar and a magnetic mount to secure the shooting rest. A couple of plastic utility boxes hold cleaning equipment, tools, targets, pellets and whatever other miscellaneous odds and sods that I need at the bench.

I’m pleased with the end result. Balance is good and the loaded cart is easy to maneuver through doorways and out onto the shooting range. Except for the Koplin gun grips and the stroller I got at a garage sale ($20) everything was made from stuff I scrounged.

A fun project!

Cheers!

Mini Carbine...Trying To Make The Team...

I finally got a Mini Carbine...This example came to me about as close to new condition as possible, I'm the third owner, to my "condition standards" anyway....this Mini isn't built to be a show pony in any event...Compared to my polished up Veteran it's about as handsome as a fence post...(All airguns that go through "MY" hands will be compared to my Veteran) The action has a "new" not broken in feel to it and the trigger has a little creep in it about like my recent Steyr...I like to get 'em like this...this Mini needs shot and shot a lot...I'm reminded of the old Jan and Dean song "Little Old Lady From Pasadena "Parked Under that bead blasted mat finished bland shroud is a shinny blue black finished CZ barrel! Two or three patches to clean and than it wasn't dirty...you should have seen my Steyr's first clean...Only had a couple of hours of familiarization time yday...my key take aways are...the barrel is good...initial test shows CP domes and JSB 18s work good (825fps 18s)...it's going to eat them like it or not...the trigger and action already smoothing out...the MAGs are a pain to load...but no surprise...single shot tray would be nice...like the 14 shot mags...I'm attracted to the "strictly business" appearance...the location probes and machined function parts fit and finish are stellar! Two groups at end of shoot just for reference...the slightly smaller one was CP domes @ 30y benched early in the shoot the other was last of day off knee with 18s @ 30y no bench...the weight reminds me of a Huntsman...will fit smaller scope later. Was a good first day...think it will make the team but it
