New kid on the block

Hello All:

Just wanted to say hello and that I am looking forward to getting to know and interact with the group. My grandson and I enjoy air rifles and are now looking to make the move from break barrels to PCP. I'm located in the NW FL area and unfortunately not a lot of organized air rifle shooting around that I can find.

Later, Steven

The green Thing

Checking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to the much older lady that she should bring her own grocery bags, because plastic bags are not good for the environment,.

The woman apologized to the young girl and explained, "We didn't have this 'green thing' back in my earlier days."

The young clerk responded, "That's our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations."

The older lady said that she was right our generation didn't have the "green thing" in its day. The older lady went on to explain:
Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to bewashed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were recycled.

But we didn't have the "green thing" back in our day. Grocery stores bagged our groceries in brown paper bags that we reused for
numerous things. Most memorable besides household garbage bags was the use of brown paper bags as book covers for our school books. This was to ensure that public property (the books provided for our use by the school) was not defaced by our scribblings. Then we were able to personalize our books on the brown paper bags.

But, too bad we didn't do the "green thing" back then. We walked up stairs because we didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks. But she was right. We didn't have the
"green thing" in our day.

Back then we washed the baby's diapers because we didn't have the throw away
kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy-gobbling machine burning up 220 volts. Wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days.

Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing. But that young lady is right; we didn't have the "green thing" back in our day.

Back then we had one TV, or radio, in the house -- not a TV in every room. And
the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana.

In the kitchen we blended and stirred by hand because we didn't have electric machines to do everything for us.

When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap.

Back then, we didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power.

We exercised by working so we didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity. But she's right; we didn't have the "green thing" back then.

We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blade in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull. But we didn't have the "green thing" back then.

Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service in the family's $45,000 SUV or van, which cost what a whole house did
before the "green thing."

We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 23,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest burger joint.

But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn't have the "green thing" back then?

Please forward this on to another selfish old person who needs a lesson in conservation from a smart buttock young person. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to piss us off...

Especially from a tattooed, multiple pierced smart buttock who can't make change without the cash register telling them how much

SOLD [SOLD] AirTanksForSale / Joe Brancato TJ3 Dual Gauge SCBA Valve & Microbore Fill Hose Assembly

Hello AGN:

For my bday recently, I treated myself to one of Donny/Saber Tactical's fancy new SCBA valves so I have this extra one to sell. My New Squirrel Getter!

After last weekends take down, the wife and I talked about the recent incline in population of squirrels. We both decided that we didn’t want our deck furniture to become squirrel nesting like it has in the past. So instead of taking them out in one short weekend I figured I would try and make it last by dropping one each weekend. This one was kind of special though because I just got my Pro Sport on Saturday that I ordered on Wednesday night from PA. Threw the Black Hound on it, zeroed it and chrony checked using JSB 8.44. This gun has been a pleasure to shoot, a beast to cock and hasn’t missed a kill zone in my yard yet with the kind of thud I want out of my TX. That would be five by the way and one squirrel. This gun is currently my new squirrel getter!

Best $25 bucks ever spent

So I bench shoot mostly and finding the perfect setup for stability is always subject to improving. I have been setting up my Mav Sniper 25 and I have never been a fan of the bag rider. The recoil flips the muzzle up because of the declining angle of the rider and can make the shot rise.
I have always wanted something that is level for the rear bag rest and bingo it is available here.

I love this thing cheap, fits great and works so well, perfect for me. The Mav Sniper 25 with the 700mm barrel can be dificult to keep steady for 100 yard shooting, this makes it a little easier.

Hairline Crack in Block on Wildcat MkIII. Anyone else have this issue?

A month or two ago my Wildcat started losing air from where the air chamber screws into the block. I could feel air leaking from that area, so assumed it was something simple like an O-ring. So a call to FX and I got a couple of the O-rings under warranty and ordered a complete O-Ring kit just in case. Fast forward two months and I've been busy doing other things and this evening I decided to finally take a look at it and swap out the O-rings. Changed both the rings in that location and it was still leaking air. Upon closer inspection the O-ring isn't the issue, but I can see a tiny, hairline crack in the threads on the block. :( Anyone ever had this issue? If so, what could cause such a problem and how was FX about repairing it? I'm kicking myself now for procrastinating in taking a look at it.

New member from new york

Hello everyone I finally joined the forum and stopped stalking it lol. Hi my name is Nick Flanagan and I'm addicted to airguns lol. It all started about 10-12 years ago I became obsessed with getting the most out of my .25 marauder and i had alot of fun on the journey. My son at the time was only 4 and when me and his mother split my weekends became all about him and airguns slowly faded out of the picture. Mainly because the only time I could get at range was the weekend. Well fast forward 10 years I'm cleaning out my garage and I have to move my airguns. It hit me like a truck as soon as I opened the case. Belive it or not they all still had a nearly a full charge. So I set up a mini 12 yard range in the yard/garage. i looked at the dope on my scope cap took aim and it was spot on. The gun had a 70 yard zero so there was quite a bit of hold under. I was so happy hahahaha so i called my buddy I used to shoot with and we were off to the range the next weekend but this time with my 14 year old son. My marauder .25 and p-rod were still dead on exactly the way I left them. My son and I had a great day he was shooting my p- rod and it was perfect for him he had blast and was hitting targets out at 100 yards. He wrote everything down and learned how many mils to hold at a lower magnification then i had recorded the guns dope with. I was very impressed. Well that was a few months and a few thousand later. I now have an fx impact m3 .22 with 800mm slug tensioned barrel, slug probe, tungsten hammer, airmarksman 30 moa backbone, saber tactical arca rail, element titan, and a poop ton of slugs lol. We have been going to the range and tinkering as much as we can since. I'm sorry in advance for this post and my future post. Im mechanicaly inclined and great at figuring things out. But as you can see typing and grammar are not my strong suit. I type slow and it reads like English is my second language I'm aware lol. Pictures are my collection and target is from the first time I went to range with the m3. I have some slug groups from the last time I went but i did not lable them at the range and not 100 percent whats was what by the time I got home.

List of PCP's with adjustable power/easy to tune

I'm interested in picking up another 22 caliber PCP. Right now I'm leaning towards a Taipan Veteran standard or long with the donnyfl speed dialer. I'm wondering what other quality guns offer easy to adjust power? I love the power wheel feature on the FX guns and know Brocock offers a similar system. Reason I'm curious is I often like to shoot different weight pellets at times, so having a gun with easy adjustments is a big help.

I'm also interested in the AGT Uragan but am somewhat put off by the lack of easy power adjustment. Taipan Veteran, Kalibr Cricket, RTI Prophet, and AGT Uragan are 4 I'm interested in. Not sure what is involved in tuning both the uragan or cricket. I know the veteran and prophet are relatively easy to adjust.

Thanks for any suggestions!
