RWS  RWS 48 vs Diana 48?

I have had a Diana 48 for several years now I have not had much opportunity to work with. Primarily because of moving and the fact it is not configured the way I want IRT sights. I acquired an Anchuetz rear the fits well and al though I can use it I want something with preferably the ability to accept an M14 front or at worst some globe front sight.

What I didn't know is with the RWS 48 rifles there are variations as to how the front sight mounts, I saw the variations are marked on the receivers. On my Diana there is not variation stamp, T06 or something similar.

So, the front sight mount on my rifle has the two cuts that appears to be the same as I found on the T01 RWS. I saw this thread but I don't see a solution... https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2010/02/mounting-a-globe-front-sight-on-an-rws-485254/

Anyone come up with a fix?

I have been thinking of one of the clamp type bands as a solution https://www.ant-supplies.uk/rail-base-mounts/diopter-sight-muzzle-adapter-bases.html

  • Question
Could anybody please tell me the correct query to find this hose?

I own this exact compressor and lost the hose.

With poor timing, too. I’m supposed to shoot tomorrow.

if in-the-know, could someone please tell me how to find a replacement hose? I’m not sure what the query would be, as I don’t even know what the connector names are called.

ideally I’d just grab A replacement for a quick delivery from amazon.

or, better yet, maybe you can tell me where exactly I left my original hose 😉

thank you in advance for your help!

Benjamin  Benjamin M-Rod Reset

Hi All. I am new here and new to PCPs since I have always shot break barrels. A few weeks back I bought a used .25 cal M-Rod off a buddy who tried to tune it but gave up halfway. My idea is to pick up where he left off and try to get this thing shooting again. I currently have a hand pump he gave me but have a cheap Vevor compressor and chronograph on the way. Should I try to tune this rifle or try to get it back to the factory setting? Are all M-rods set the same at the factory? If so does anyone have the specs so I can reset it or how would you all recommend I go about this since he said he doesn't have that info anymore?

Tuning  Sorting FX Pellets

Does anyone have any experience sorting FX brand .25 caliber 25.4 grain pellets. I have just been tuning my Avenge-X for these at 910fps and got pretty good results for a whole string of 100 shots. However, shot to shot deviation looked higher than I wanted. So, this morning I sorted a bunch and was surprised a how much deviation they had. They ranged from 25.00 up to 26.00 with most being 25.1 to 25.6. So, I used a group of 15 of the 25.3 + or - .05 group. This shot string had a spread of 6fps and STD of 1.51! The first 15 shots from a random unsorted batch from the same tin had a spread of 12fps and STD of 3.42. I had hoped sorting would help but I was not expecting this much improvement.

So, my question is this what others see with FX brand pellets. Are the JSB pellets more consistent?

Also, should I be using sorted pellets when trying to come up with a good tune?

  • Question
Air Venturi avenge-x

I recently put the saber tactical chassis on my Avenge -x . Also, made a caliber change with new barrel and probe kit .
When I began charging rifle with air .
The rifle now leaks !! Pretty noticeable where it's leaking .
When I apply upward pressure to both tube and barrel , the leaking sound of air stops . Seems to be where barrel meets receiver?
Is this common . Could it be the barrel when changed is not properly aligned for set screws on top receiver "pic" rail?? Or is this a cylinder issue?
Also , it was very tight "CHASSIS" when installed.
Thanks for any feedback.
Hopefully someone has seen this and I won't have to go into a deep dive with complete dissassmbly...

Paying full boat for preorder

Does anyone else have a problem paying the full price of an airgun, on back order, up front? Mind you, I don‘t mind putting down a deposit, up front, which would be forfeited if I canceled the order. But dropping $2200 with an expected delivery date makes me pucker up!

  • Question
N/A  Mordax vs Huben GK1

Is the Mordax worth the extra investment?
I’m considering purchasing one of these, and both seem to perform well, each with its own advantages and drawbacks.

What stands out to me about the Mordax is the full-auto capability and the removable magazine, which are pretty appealing features. On the other hand, the Huben’s more affordable price tag is definitely a factor to consider.

From what I’ve gathered, both can handle slugs (correct me if I am wrong), so performance in that regard seems comparable. However, I’ve heard that not just any air compressor can handle the pressure needed to fully charge the Huben’s cylinder, which could be a downside if you don't already have a high-pressure compressor.

Also, I would like to know:
1-if optics needed if you are just going for 30 yard.
2- what could be the reason of the unremovable magazine for GK1?
3- If they both take slugs is it more beneficial to get the .22 instead of .25?

What I’m uncertain about is the long-term durability of either brand. If you have any experience or insights on this, I’d love to hear why you might prefer one over the other.

Purpose: Pest control
Caliber: .22 or .25

  • Question
Brocock/BRK  Torn on what to get.

Looking for a good mid range first PCP. I like Daystate or Brocock. Don't really want to start out with top of the line but have a friend who just ordered an Impact M4 and don't want him to out shoot me. :) I have read reviews on lots of guns but maybe I have read to many. Mostly would do target shooting up to 100 yards and some bird hunting. Thanks for the input.

Umarex  Umarex zelos o ring help

I forgot to lower my reg before pumping so I took off the tank to find I tore a o ring. I have spares from the hand pump kit but the umarex does not include spare o rings. Does it have to be exact size? The one I have is slightly thicker with a smaller inside diameter, I'm going to try and find a replacement at the hardware store. Is there kits I can buy? Also am I only able to fill the tank off of the gun to a certain psi? It started leaking out the non fill end around 2k psi and I lost all my air. Haven't tried pumping it up again. Doesn't help I got the gun today in the mail and it's freezing cold, maybe that weakened the seals?

  • Question
N/A  Huben GK1 Safety

Has anyone experienced an accidental discharge while loading or unloading the magazine when forgetting to put it on safe mode.

To clarify, I recently watched a YouTube video that provided guidance on how to load and unload the magazine safely, particularly since it is non-removable. My question is whether you've ever experienced any incidents related to this process. I want to emphasize that I’m not trying to tarnish the reputation of this unique piece of art which I am interested in purchasing one.

  • Question
N/A  H&N 4.50, 4.51, 4.52 ?? I don’t know which to choose

I’m going to order some H&N baracuda match .177 for some long range practice with my Remington sabre. Just seen I can choose between 4.50, 4.51, and 4.52! I haven’t a clue which would suit my rifle the best neither do I have the money to buy three tins of 400 pellets to do a bit of testing. Any ideas or advice. Thanks!

  • Question
N/A  FX M4 Compact vs Krait Standard vs BRK Ghost Carbine

Hello and Happy New Year,

I've narrowed my options down to three popular airguns, and I’d love to hear your thoughts—especially if you've had the chance to try all three.

I’m not a professional airgunner, so I’m looking for an honest, down-to-earth opinion from someone who knows their stuff. My main goal is to find something compact and quiet for some backyard plinking, but with the flexibility to crank up the power if I spot a coyote sneaking around.

From what I’ve gathered, the M4 is all about tinkering and customization, the Krait is the simple, no-fuss option, and the Ghost is super unique but comes with some pricey, replaceable parts.

I’ve owned plenty of PCP airguns in the past, but I’ve never had to dive into any maintenance or tuning myself. So, they must be reliable.
if you were to recommend one of these three and give it a solid tune-up, I’d likely stick with your settings and leave it at that—no need for experiments on my end.

Also, just to make it clear, I’m not too concerned about the price tag of any of these models.

Given all that, which one would you say is the best fit for me?

  • Question
N/A  What's this about "cold barrels?"

I posted this question in response to a few people talking about the first shot out of a cold barrel, seeming to imply that the POI would shift as the barrel warmed up. Or am I missing the point? (I often do......)

"
Kinda new to all of this, but I do have a question. Considering that we are shooting compressed air from a storage tank, isn't the barrel always cold? If anything, according to the laws of physics, the air will get hotter when it's compressed into the bottle, and cool down over time until it approaches ambient. When it is released from the bottle, it will be cooler. Or so I believe.

A word of caution: I still believe in the Easter Bunny and the Great Pumpkin......

Huben  GK1 power test

Happy New Year!!! I have a quick question and I’m guessing one of you good folks will know the answer. I have the GK1 .25 and want to learn more about the power settings. Does anyone know fps/fpe on 0-1 turns of the screw and on to 1-2 turns and 3-4 and so on! I don’t have a chronograph to help me out and I think it would be neat to know that when I’m shooting with the screw turned from 0 to x turns I am getting blank fps/fpe. I know a lot has to do with grain count of the projectile but a ballpark would be great to have. Thanks again and I hope this is a great year for all of us!
