I posted back 4 months ago regarding this set up. Had some oversights, malfunctions of regulator , crap windy weather , blah, blah, blah. Now I have put through about a thousand rounds of 30 cal slugs including: FX hybrids, ZAN 55g and 59g, 63g too I believe is the weight. Griffans, and AVS. Cone base, dish base, cup base, flat base. All ammo with a diameter of .300 sucked. Not surprising since this gun has what appears to be a .306 barrel. Now I had Steve from AVS slug my barrel and he confirmed it was .306. Great! Now we are getting somewhere. I ordered slugs in that diameter. Since Steve lives close to me we met and discussed options for ammo, he made 55g 60g and 65g flat base as well as 55 and 60 g dish and cup base. He was very curious as to what would produce. well none were particularly awesome 1.5" to 2" at 75 yards. Then he recommended some test stuff in the 60-62.5g range Dish base and flat base. we hit the range and shot 60g flat, 61g flat, and 62.5g flat and 62.5g dish base at 100 yards. the 61g flat base we were able to get 1" average groups. all the rest were 1.25" average and higher with the 60 g being the worst. Now Steve is not a guy that gives up. He wants to try with 61.5g and 62g along with the 61g for final shooting session to deem which is best. He has a video coming out soon. you all will see by my weak shooting technique that if I can get 1" groups at 100 with these, anyone can. I have gun currently tuned to shoot the 61g slugs at 900 FPS for 112 FPE at the muzzle.
