Beating a dead quail here

Hi folks! I hope you're doing well.

I know this question has been asked a dozen times, but I just want to make sure, so I apologize for beating a dead horse quail here.

Can I use goo gone to clean my Lothar Walther barrel? I know we are not supposed to use products with an excess of petroleum, and I see goo gone has petroleum distillates, but I honestly am not sure if that is the same significance.

I also have 99% ISO - would that be suitable? I sort of figured not, because it will destroy any lubrication or maybe damage o-rings.

Thanks in advance!

Western Airguns  Finally quieted down the action of my .22 Western Airguns Sidewinder

I've been struggling with a decision on my Sidewinder for some time, and it has to do with quieting down the action. I had been thinking that if I put some mastic over the sides of the action it might help quiet down the gun some, or at least improve the sound quality of the gun when shot. But I knew it would not look good, so I had not tried it until today. It turns out it works great, and both quiets the action AND improves the sound quality!

I find the gun to be a great shooter, but the action is so loud and jarring (in terms of sound quality) that it really is not pleasant to shoot without adding hearing protection. I found that I was just not shooting it much anymore, so I decided that I should either go ahead and try the mastic or just sell it to somebody that would shoot it more. I also have a .22 Huben K1, and it has been so much more pleasant to shoot - to the point that it was getting all the use and none was going to the Sidewinder. This despite the fact that I had tamed the muzzle sounds a lot with a Huma 40 moderator on it - but the action noise remained, and it was very loud and unpleasant to shoot (at least to my ears).

So I put some on both sides of the action, cutting it to not cover anything functional, and tried it out. The results are fantastic! It now is in the situation where the impact of the pellet is far louder than the gun, and it was nowhere close to that before. In fact, the impact sound to the shooter was barely louder than the ringing and vibrations coming from the action before.

Sadly, I have to admit that the result is that the gun looks like it was hit with an "ugly stick," but the acoustic results are too good to pass up. For me, the choice is one of having a nice looking gun that I don't really want to shoot, or a gun I can enjoy shooting even if it looks no where near as nice . . . I gotta go with "form following function" in this case.

Here is what the action looks like now - it looks ugly, but sounds great:

Diana  New D75

I just received my new to me D75 and am a little confused. I believe it is a 9mm front dovetail but the nice Gehmann front sight and what seems to be a riser are both 11mm. I nave a picture from the seller showing this sight on the gun, no idea how. Where is the best place to get a 9mm to 11mm adapter to replace the Gehmann riser. The original front sight is also pictured.

Just as the title asks, I'd like to know which airgun manufacturer has the best customer service in your experience (you make pick two if you must). This can includes aftermarket support and warranty services. I'm not asking about the customer service of the vendor or shop that you purchased the airgun from, but the company that made the gun. Also tell us a little about your experiences and why you selected the manufacture that you chose. If the best experiences occurred with another company please name them and tell us about your experience(s) with them.

Umarex  Trouble filling my Notos

Help please! I am new to pcp. I bought a Umarex Notos. I tried the hand pump option and decided it wasn't for me. I then bought an air compressor for air guns on Amazon. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZ7F8H8V
It seems pretty straightforward but after 35 minutes, the needle has not moved. I disconnected it, turned it on, and a little bit of air (similar to the hand pump) and a fair amount of moisture came out. Am I doing something wrong???!! As always, thanks for your help. You guys are always very helpful!

PCP Rifle  NLA BRK Concept Lite XR 22 for trade for compact 177 or 22

I have a used good shooting Concept XR 22. It has some wear marks but operates flawlessly. It’s tuned to shoot 18gr at 880 currently. I always grab one of my compact rifles to shoot instead, so it’s not getting used. I put in a brand new huma reg, I still have the factory huma reg and a huma rebuild kit. It also has the folding stock adapter, and comes with the solid mount if you want that. I put a Magpul grip on it. If you’re interested I will send photos. There is a wear mark on the lower just above the safety, it’s just the finished, not a scratch. I bought it used with that mark already there. No optic, rings, or moderator included in the deal.

Top of my list trade would be an atomic 22 first, or a 177. I’m interested in a lot of compacts so let me know what you have. Sorry, I’m not interested in any FX.

Airforce  Huben regulator help needed

Hello, I bought the Huben Cricket power regulator brand new directly from Huben. I put it on my Air Force Condor 22 cal, and the speed and power of the gun was literally cut in half.
The 40 grain .218 slugs shoot 907 fps without the regulator and 523 fps with the regulator. The lightest slug I have is 21 grains and they shoot 817 fps. The shots are all over the place too.
Shall I just give up on the regulator idea or is there something you guys know that I can do?

Bullfrog Carnage!

Vulcan 3 700mm
30 cal... 54gn slugs @ 976 fps

Bullfrogs are outta control in Arizona. Big problem for local Native Lepard Frogs, and they eat anything they can get their mouth around. Also can carry Chytrid Fungus which can basically wipe out other amphibians, sooo...today is eradication day!

DO YOU LIKE RIDDLES?

I'm using Strelok Pro with with Zan Slugs and an Impact MK2 with the Heavy Slug Liner with a 1:18 twist rate. The projectiles are .25 Zan 37 grain. It's zero'd at 50 yards.
Projectile weight: 37.05 grain
Projectile speed: 985 fps set to measured temp and humidity (Metro)
BC 0.108
Target distance: 120 yd
Scope height: 8.0 cm (first focal plane)

Angle is minimal

The app says at 120 yd, the elevation should be 2.7 MRAD but in order to get on target, I'm having to set things to 3.4.
With NSA slugs it was very close to what the app called for. Having much better luck with ZAN.
So it's a riddle....what do you think I might be doing wrong?

Note: the scope is on FX elevator rings; perhaps that's messing with things?

Thanks for the help.

OK maybe this offering is not a good enough deal to get the attention of the "lookers". It is a very well maintianed and not much used, as I hav too many other FX rifles. So with that information make me an offer. I might consider "breaking' it into smaller packages.
