FX  I just gotta vent...

Last Thursday I purchased a 600mm .177 Barrel Kit for my Impact. I purchased from UA because they were the one vendor that showed it in stock. I called to see if they were running any specials for Mother's Day. I was told no. I asked about free shipping because I have read that others have gotten free shipping if they called in their order. Nope, that's usually only for orders over $1000! Well, FX barrel Kits are over priced and down't even come with a magazine, but thankfully, they aren't $1000! So, I hang up and place my order through their website so I can use PayPal 6 months 0 interest. Then Friday morning, I get an e-mail saying they have free shipping all weekend for Mother's Day! What the... Really, their staff didn't know they were offering free shipping the next day and could have told me? I could have easily waited a day if I had known.... Shipping was $19, so I tucked that away and will use another vendor next time.

I received the Barrel Kit on Monday. I installed it and tested it today. Nothing would group and pellets felt as if they were snagging as they were loading into the barrel. At this price point, you'd think you'd get a quality product! Not knowing what was causing this I pulled the barrel and checked the loading end. There was no bevel at all and the angle looked quite sharp. I took a cone shaped grinding wheel and gently grinder a small bevel by hand then polished it and the inside of the bore. I put it back together and cleaned it really well and now it's stacking pellets and they are loading like butter! You know, like they should have to begin with!

A couple weeks ago, I purchased a refurbished Hatsan Flash-R in .177. Yea, I had to fight to get the fill port off the air cylinder because the fill valve was leaking. And, I had to recrown and polish the barrel to get decent groups, but it's shooting small clover leafs at 50 yards now! I had to put some work into it, but it was a $195 refurb, not a brand new $325 FX barrel kit!

Fortunately, the .177 Impact barrel is working fine now, but I still feel at that price, I shouldn't have to rework the bore to get pellets to load smoothly! I feel fortunate to have been hanging around here long enough to actually know what to look for and how to fix it! Thanks Airgun Nation!

Taipan  Taipan Veteran Long finding it’s legs

I picked up this Taipan Veteran long in .25 on the classifieds here about a year ago. It has an extended plenum, external dial power adjuster, and a Donny FL Koi. I found an Element Titan 5-25x56 on the classifieds a few months later and mounted it up.

I finally am getting it ready to put lead on target. Today, I ran a mag of JSB 34 grainers over the chrono to confirm speed so I can get an idea of a zero and trajectory in chair gun.

10 shots 33.95 JSB. Fps:
918
919
920
916
913
919
917
909
921
915

Averaging about 917fps for around 64fpe.
In spite of all this power, it is SO quiet. All I hear is the hammer spring.

Can’t help but be impressed by the Vet.

Eyeglasses or not?

Just a few curious questions? For those who have to wear eyeglasses.
1. Do you have single vision or Bi focal?
2. Do you remove them to site trough your scope or leave them on?
3. Do you find that shooting without your glasses more or less accurate?
4. Can you focus through the scope better with or without glasses?

Thanks for your answers, and replies.

Picatinny to Arca adapter loose fitting

I bought a small picatinny to arca swiss rail adapter. It doesn’t fit my M4 or Krait on any of its picatinny rail but fits my Maverick’s picatinny rail.

URL to adapter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DHQMSN5J?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Noob question, but is picatinny not a standard size “mil spec” in example? See videos below.

PCP Rifle  SOLD EDgun Leshiy Classic L1 with .22 & .25 barrels plus extras

Up for sale is my Leshiy Classic L1. As seen in the attached pics: It comes with a .22 & .25 barrel, custom wood grips, Dedal Stalker scope, pellet dispenser, retractable butt pad extension and front grip. It also has an akula suppressor, original hard case and soft case (laptop case). I will also include the light mounted on the gun as seen in the pic. It comes with an extra battery. Unfortunately I can’t find the charger at this time. A few tins of pellets and a leather pellet pouch are also included. Currently it is set up to shoot JSB .25 26.5 gr Hades at 607fps. At this setting it’s very backyard friendly. It was resealed a year ago and the extra seals that came in the kit are included….no issues with the gun. I am asking $1999.00 for the entire package shipped in the CONUS where legal. I am not interested in any trades or parting out of parts at this time. Payment by MO, Check (shipped when funds clear) or PayPal plus 3.75%. Please PM me with any questions.

Airgun Technologies  Uragan 2 25 cal 700 mm barrel tunes

I would like some good velocities for my Uragan 2 for 38 grain slugs and 50 grain Altaros. I am currently getting 960 fps for the 38 grain and 850 for the Altaros. Good groups but not great. My 25/700 Panthera likes 920 for the Altaros. When I got the Uragan it shot the 38 grain slugs excellent but I have been adjusting the regulator and now cannot find anything super satisfactory. I did not bother to check the 38 grain velocities before messing with it, bummer. Should have left it alone.

New Apolo .177 slugs

Has anyone tried these and had success? I've tried these in my Krait L .177 which is shooting V3 10.03gr KO slugs at 960fps and my U2 600mm .177 which is shooting 16.5gr at 885avg and neither barrel likes these slugs. I've gone as far as removing excess lead flakes via fiber cloth and with both barrels they shoot 6-12" groups out to 35yds.

Air gun Scopes

Hmmm... I have had many types of break-barrels from $80 Walmart specials to $500 magnum springers. With every one the scope was always a problem, especially with the magnums. Over 40 years of air-gunning got me to the point I am now. How much of my scope problems have been from how much I was "tightening" them so that wouldn't move? I am about to find out. Who said you couldn't teach an old dog new tricks?! I am buying a torque kit made for guns, I just learned the average torque is typically around 20 inch lbs depending on manufacturer specs. I was smashing them on for sure.I have a break-barrel that can make 1" groups at 65 yards until WALLA!, the scope breaks one way or another, parts fall off, starts shooting weird and can't be adjusted, you name it. Some last 100 rounds, some 2000. Mostly it just starts shooting weird.

Errggg....Hurumph, Bah Humbug. 🤪

Diana  Have a German dated 2007 Diana 48 .177 Springer purchased new with a question:

Never been dry fired...I know the rule! Beautiful dark Stock. After shooting today, I lightly clean it from muzzle to butt and from the breech end, run a couple of light patches with cleaner/protector down the bore. Annually I put a couple drops of oil on the spring and bolt...and fire a pellet to release the compression. I take extreme care of this rifle and it looks as if factory new...aim (not a pun) to keep it that way after almost 17 years. I know of no better way to prepare this rifle for storage. Is this S.O.P. with 48 owners? One last question: There are 6 clicks or stops when you cock the side lever (spring)....I have never tried it, but is is o.k. to short stroke the spring for a short distance target? This is one powerful rifle and twice a year, I compete with my grandson with his .22 magnum in accuracy at a 100 yd. range. I always surprise him and he is an accurate shooter!!!!

Here are a few pics:

Dry pack refill experiment!!!

Ok guys,
installed this new dry pack refill on December 2024 and just replaced it today…
this New type of dry pack refill comes with this little orange beads that sits at the bottom of the filter tube & suppose to turn green in 3 to 4 months time…
I must admit I m not a daily user of my pcp compressor but usually run every weekend…
took some pictures of replaced dry pack contents and it didn’t look green to me at all even after solid 5 months of staying in That dry pack pro metal tube!!!!
comments are welcome.

Air Arms  Updating my TX200.

I have a TX200 mkIII. I bought in 2010. I used it for six years and would shoot 2-3 hundred pellets a day sometimes.
Then in 2016 I moved and it sat. I shot it a couple times in 2018 but not much. Now I have my own field target range and got the old TX out for a shoot. Even with the wrong pellets and a scope that’s not dialed in. It was a pleasure to shoot. It is set up for WFTF at 12 fr lb. The trigger has been worked over and the gun is a dream. But no one wants to shoot WFTF piston class anymore. The scope I have is a big 40x with a 15x marking but no 16x marked on the scope. The side wheel is kinda big and it is all kinda needing something.
So I decided to give it a freshen up and convert it to hunter class. It shoots perfectly well . But a smaller scope would help with loading. And I need to re blue the cocking lever. The original blue is gone. I have an idea to reblue it with heat. Let’s see how that works out.
