PCP Rifle  SOLD FX Dream-Tact Compact/Carbon Fiber, .22 cal (#1)

For sale: FX Dream-Tact Compact/Carbon Fiber, .22 cal, $1050 shipped. Number one of a pair that we purchased new from Utah Airguns. Like new, packed in a Plano hard case. Included is an extra FX 300cc carbon fiber bottle to extend your remote shooting adventure, fill probe, three magazines, speedloader, a compact Donny Tatsu moderator and the owners manual. It has about three hundred rounds through it. It truly shoots like a dream, super accurate and with that smooth side lever cocking that had me imagining that I was shooting the FWB 300s I lusted for in my youth. Of course the Dream-Tact has a lot more punch and doesn't require the cool sled recoil reduction of the 300s.

Ships in the Plano hard case packed in the original Plano box, insured, signature required, CONUS only. A phone conversation with buyer is mandatory prior to purchase. $1050 via PayPal, shipping is included.

Other  BAM XSB51 Stock Options?

I recently purchased a nice BAM B51 (Daystae Huntsman clone) from a fellow forum member. This purchase was really just to get something to tinker with that I could mess up and nor feel terrible about lol.

I have some plans for the rifle, but one thing I want to do and am unsure of is change the stock. I'd love to do something to make it a bit more interesting and/or nice to look at. Nothing wrong with it, just plain old Chinese beechwood with some sapwood spots and bland brown color...

The B50 I owned way back when they first came into the US actually had a nice looking stock, but this one is pretty bland.

Has anyone ever done anything to the factory stock or made a custom stock for this cheap rifle? If so, I'd love to hear about it.

I know these have nor been available/around for many years, but I'm hoping someone may have done some stock related tinkering back then....

PCP Rifle  NLA Daystate Huntsman Regal in .177

Looking for a Daystate Regal in .177. Prefer regulated, but will consider non-regulated version.

Only interested in the Regal version in .177 and in excellent or better condition. Would like it to have threaded barrel/removable moderator (not glued on).

Please let me know if you have one you might be willing to part with, how much you'd like, price, etc.

Thanks!

Tank failure, anyone? How many?

I have had a large carbon fiber I think 6 liter tank fail,,, Has anyone else? Not valve, Not hose but a TANK,,
The tank was given to me by my brother in law , It would leak down to 3000 psi , Back then I had my Sheldon compressor , It took about 10 minutes to fill back up to 4500 psi, It would leak out over night or a day or so very slow leak, I had to put it in a full bath tube to see all the little bubbles coming from under the carbon fiber,,,
ONLY POST IF YOU HAVE HAD A TANK FAIL... Lets see how many?

Taipan  Taipan Slash - Accuracy tip.

I had an interesting day last week where I couldn't get a good group with my .22 550mm no matter what I did. It would start to group and and seen as I would adjust the scope the good group would vanish.
Then I found the scope was very loose. and tightened the thumb QR screws. (Eagle Vision rings)
But that being said, I took it out again yesterday and found I was having a hard time getting a good group with the scope tightened like it should be.
The rifle jumps.
When I hold it down the groups go back to very accurate again.
Tip.. Don't let the rifle jump as I believe the pellet, at least at the speeds I'm shooting, get flung out of a barrel that's moving from recoil.
It's a very light weight rifle and I believe this is the issue (if you can call it an issue)
I'm having great success with AEA .22 25.3 pellets at 915 fps.

So Damn Hot!!

Had some extra time off this week so I just wanna get out on the trails but so damn hot. I'm out by sunrise but I'm done by 8am, by then it's already over 90 degrees. Not much moving in this heat but I did see a deer early, picture is kind of crappy cuz it was still dark out and unfortunately not deer season so no venison today.

Anyone else a bit warm? Ready for some cooler weather and get more shooting in.

HW/Weihrauch  HW97K Trigger Issues - When Safety is turned off gun fires

Swapped springs a few times and never had issues. This last time though I swapped springs and put the gun back together and had been shooting it and all of a sudden it went off without pulling the trigger. Then it wouldn't catch when cocking. Seems that has worked out but now I am down to when you cock the gun, the safety engages, as soon as you take the safety off the gun fires.
Im sure Im missing something like the order in which its put together or something simple but Im not super well versed on this thing yet so does anyone know what to look at? I took the trigger pack out again last night, checked my adjustments and all seemed good. Put it back in and same thing.

Supply Tank certification

I recently jumped on the air train. Like last week. I currently have a FX impact M4, Notos , and am ordering a Huben GK1 today. Also, I purchased a GX4-I and a 6.8L tank from Air guns of Arizona. We live on ranch in West Texas and pretty much patrol the ranch nightly. Wither it be changing irrigation in fields, Varmint hunting with friends or my 4 kids. We have quite a few ranch vehicles. We also have a home gun range setup for pistol and LR and either my kids or I are their every day. We shoot burners alot... Having all this in mind, I am worried about having air supply handy. I would like to get some more tanks setup where I can mount them in some of the ranch buggies and maybe one at the range. How many of you that are filling at home worry about the DOT certification? My 6.8 L has it. But I see several on ebay etc. for half the prices that are only CE certified. I realize i would lose the ability to have a shop fill it. But i intend on buying a larger twin compressor for larger fills soon. Just wondering if it's worth the extra money for the DOT stamp in my case. Thanks!

Discovery HD 2-12x24 magnification ring question

I bought this Discovery scope on amazon a while back.
Amazon Link The magnification ring has always been pretty stiff, so thought I would look for a throw lever. There is an obvious screw on the ring that I took out to see what the threads were, and realized that it's not what I thought it was. It looked more like some kind of functional screw with random indentions on it, like it was meant to hold something in place. I quickly put it back in and tightened it. What is that screw for? Did I mess something up when I took it out? Coincidently the scope doesn't seem to hold zero as good as it did previously.

Air Arms  TX200 Breech Tube crushed

The compression tube has squished itself into a pancake style burr. Of course this has also damaged the oring. There does not seem to be any damage on the barrel side, except some light marring of the finish.

Should I locate a replacement compression tube or take the part out and file it down?

1 oring was removed to take this picture and the gun has under 1,000 pellets.

Accessories  SOLD New Huma Regulators for AEA cheap

So I ordered a challlenger and a challlenger bullpup regulator, I received two HP SS regulators and two bullpup plenums. Part numbers are similar so I guess its a honest mistake, they told me they'd send two more and I can do what I want with the HP SS regulators, but i also got a invoice for another $69 and they never sent anything for a standard challlenger just two bullpup regulators and I put one in my standard challlenger and it seemed fine, not leaking, fired, but it was late and I put it away. Next day im ready to shoot and psi was at 2k so wtf, start degassing and must have got below set pressure and I heard it shoot to the front of the tube and there's nothing holding that end oring in place then it drops back down and I decided im never dealing with that again and don't need a regulator for hunting so im selling everything in pairs, cheap. $70 for the 2 HP SS and $50 for the pair of Challlenger standard bullpup, the used bullpup regulator is obviously missing the bottom oring that got shredded.
Update, HP SS have been sold

Airgun Technologies  U3 Compact .22

Just received this little guy from a fellow AGN member. It is light and accurate, a great combination. Swapped the cocking lever to the left side, mounted a 4-16 Veyron and added an STO Faulx to the snout, which increased the length noticeably. Didn't use a Chrony on any of the shots today. At 40yds it loves Hades and nearly as well with CHCP's. Did not group very well with the heavier pellets I had on hand which were 18.3g JSB Heavies and 25g Hades Monsters. The previous owner mentioned it was tuned for 15g AEA's so I'm going to go pellet shopping out of curiosity. I haven't tried any AEA's before but read many positive comments about them around here.

Had a few jams with the JSB Heavies and 15.89 Hades. It looks like the probe caught the edge of the skirt coming forward and bent the heck out of them preventing them from even leaving the magazine? Anyone else had this issue?

Other than 5 jammed pellets, the remaining 67 shots were uneventful.

DEW POINT

I have completed 7 Night Precision Benchrest shoots with the last 5 shoots starting above dew point then falling to/below dew point.

Equipment:

Rifle: <12FPE, 0.177, Piatt tuned Thomas BR
Rest: PQP Lite with roller top
Target: 2013 to 2021 ERABSF 25 Meter set at 82'
Vane: anemoscope with VHS tape telltale

Observations:

1. Foulers and sighters are shot at 2030 with temperature at 90+°F : and above dew point. POA-POI & Dispersion have been normal - wind has been very, very , lite on these hot evenings which is why I have been using VHS Tape as a telltale.

2. Record shots begin shortly after 2100 when target Illumination becomes effective.

3. As the air temperature drops the telltale will just hang as the air goes still.

4. When the dew point is reached the telltale will begin to vibrate, first at its bottom "free" tip then slowly along its whole length. I think this is caused by the latent heat of condensation rising from the grass as the water vapor condenses into dew.

5. When the telltale is vibrating along its full length the pellets start to form vapor trails on their way to the target. Once the vapor trails begin, my 10's go way, way, soft and my 9's go way hard. The pellet hits will move around the 9 ring in both clockwise and counter clockwise directions. This will continue until the air starts moving enough to raise the telltale.

Is what I observe due to Diabolo External Ballistics in vapor saturated air along with thermal gradients created by the latent heat of condensation rising up through the super saturated air column?

Or just another LSD Flashback?!?
