Finally used my boroscope

I bought a Teslong NGT100 boroscope months ago and just got around to using it today. The head is about 5mm in diameter and easily fits into a 22 caliber or larger barrel. I have some mirror heads for it but I haven't used them yet. I often get frustrated with things like this and it happened today. The app demanded the model and it was not in any of the packaging. But eventually I got on line and figured it out. I looked at the barrels of my most accurate PCPs both of which have given me a 200 on the 30 yard challenge. I looked at my P35-22 and my Caiman X, also in 22 caliber. The first several pictures are the P35, the final few are the Caiman. The barrel on the Caiman is hammer forged, I think, and there seemed to be tiny copper flakes in the barrel. The P35 barrel seemed to have thread like lead deposits in some areas with some rectangular chunks near the crown. The Caiman had some much larger lead deposits about as deep as the rifling back near the throat. I gave both barrels at least 50 strokes with JB's bore paste on a patch. That cleaned up the P35 better than the Caiman. Too windy to see if I made a difference, I'm not expecting I did.

Received a new TUXING 6.8L CF Tank with small dents

So I just received a new Tuxing 6.8L carbon fiber tank. Packaging was poor. Literally was in a bag to protect it from dust and was packaged in a box. Would you still use this? So far no actual cracking on the clear coat or carbon fiber. The dents are hard to spot and you'll only see them when reflecting a light on them. Seems ok but would like to know your opinion.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Uragan 2 .30 700mm (SPF)

I bought this gun new several months ago. Dialed it in with slugs and never shot it again. The slug of choice is 62.5gr around 900fps so it’s a brute. The gun will ship in the case and boxes I received it in. Two mags, a fill probe and plenty of the slugs it likes. Probably 500+. I have no idea what the shot count is because I never hammered that many rounds in a row when I was dialing it in. But it gets plenty. Price is $1,000 via PayPal and buyer pays shipping and decides how I ship it. I can do Fedex, UPS or god forbid the Post Office.

Smaller good eating size?or big boar or sow 200lbs +?? Would like to hear about it 30 caliber

PCP Rifle  SOLD Taipan Veteran 2 550mm .22

So I'm realizing it's extremely similar to my Vet1 just with some updates and while I enjoy the updates I know myself one gun will get shot and the other will sit being so similar. I'd honestly pick this one over the Vet1 but with this one being essentially new and pristine condition I'd rather just sell this one. Will likely regret it but oh well. One small spot shown in pic is the only thing I could find on the gun. This gun shoots very good and really likes the JSB 20.83gr Lights and JTS 18gr. $1050 shipped to your door conus.

Other  Chrono recommendation?

Gents, my ancient Chrony Alpha seems to be on its last legs. What do you experts recommend as a replacement?

I'd prefer a free-standing one (i.e. not mounted on the barrel or whatever). I don't need it to be highly computer-fied, and don't wanna spend a fortune, but it needs to be able to compute the average velocity and standard deviation of a long-ish string of shots.

Thanks in advance...

Daystate  Alpha Wolf Performance vs regular Alpha Wolf

I'm aware that I suck at search so bear with me or point me at the right direction.

I have a few questions regarding Alpha Wolfs
New 28" barrel that comes with the Performance model, is it a dedicated slug barrel or is it a pellet barrel or something in between or maybe there are two different barrels to choose from (one for slugs, one for pellets)?

As per Daystate website, Performance model comes with "improved Ultra Fast-Flow Valve", regular Alpha Wolf has Fast Flow valve and as an upgrade Ultra Firing Valve can be bought. What is the difference in those three and would regular Alpha Wolf (i really like the looks of Safari) benefit from this upgrade if I buy Ultra Firing Valve?

Latest downloadable firmware is 1.5 years old. What is the benefit of longer barrels and two newer versions of valves if firmware doesn't know how to use those benefits?
I know that I can buy DTD and create my own profiles but for that price tag Daystate should have done that for me and continue updating firmware at least every 6 months.

Are there any other changes between new Performance models and regular Alpha Wolf?
Like bigger plenum, different (more modern) electronics, barrel clamp preinstalled...

I would like .25 cal, are there any disadvantages compared to .22 cal?
I don't care much about shot count, accuracy is much more important to me and if one calibre would be less accurate than the other.

Thanks!
Walt

Archer Airguns Out of Business?

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post (new here).

Does anyone know if Archer Airguns has gone out of business? I ordered a Benjamin Discovery pressure gauge as mine had failed and I never got any tracking information, they don’t answer the phone and don’t respond to emails. The order says it was “shipped” but that was over a week ago and their website says delivery should be expected in 3-5 business days. It looks like their business is still active in New York but no word from them. Am I out of luck?

Thank you for any insights you can provide!

Barrels  WTS 330mm TJ's .30 Barrel for FX Airguns

Machined this for my Maverick. Should work with the Impact, Crown, Wildcat, Drwamline. Very accurate with pellets and the heavier slugs that I've shot with it. Has an Ernest Rowe high flow brass inlet.

Comes with a DonnyFL Koi and the conical end cap (it's threaded to the barrel 1/2-20, but I designed for it). I've also run this barrel in my Maverick with a DonnyFL Ronin + extension and an Emperor using an FX air cylinder for clearance.

Terms:
- $270 shipped CONUS
- I also have titanium and stainless probes in .30 for the Maverick / Wildcat that I can sell separately.

Kral Arms  Another fun day in the shop.

The Kral Bighorn has a 580mm/22.8" barrel. The choke on the .25 is a touch tight but shoots pellets well anyway. I decided to make the shroud functional so my solution was remove most of that choke (Lost no speed after). Take a bad oversized .357 barrel end and re-thread both 1/2x20 (inside the .357 section on to the .25 barrel) to mate up, keep the overall factory length and then drill a vent hole through the .357 new end so it uses the shroud to both tension and hush it down.

HW/Weihrauch  Hw77 Mk1 done today.

20250303_145611.jpg
I finally got to work on my NTM Hw77 Mk1 today. It was a little bit of bear getting the receiver apart. And a giant PITA getting it back together.

I did the usual clean out. I slugged the barrel and replaced the crumbly breech seal while it was completely apart.
20250303_113859.jpg

I replaced the piston seal with a 25mm Vortek piece. Replaced the factory spring and guide with the newest Vortek delrin HO kit. This kit has alot more preload than I'm used to and I almost needed a spring compressor to get it back together. That was part of the PITA. The other part was getting the gun fully screwed together. This was the tightest one I've had yet.

This early 77 has no beartrap so that simplified things nicely.
20250303_132525.jpg

The trigger group was all sorts of bent and crooked. I think someone tried using it for leverage to unscrew the receiver end. There was spots of rust and grease that looked like dryed varnish. Not impressed with the triggers condition I only did a quicky on it. I soaked it in degreaser, brushed out the hardened crud, rinsed it in hot water, dried it, lubed pivots with heavy oil and greased sears and contact points with moly. I adjusted the "forbidden screw" which was actually a red slotted screw like my R8. The degreaser ate the red paint off.
20250303_132559.jpg

I put it all together and it shoots nicely. No twang. No felt recoil. No dieseling. The chronograph says 14.4 fpe but it feels like 10. Much better power than I expected from a 25mm Hw77. It's just a tick hotter than I tuned my 177 26mm Hw97 to.
Screenshot_20250303_154456_ShotView.jpg

I tried accuracy testing it but the new Sightron 3-9×32 rimfire didn't last 50 shots before the reticle rotated. I'll have to find another scope. Apparently I have time. We have evil weather coming for the next few days.

I'm looking for a better Rekord trigger group of anyone has one.

That's it for today.
Be well
Ron

PCP Rifle  SOLD **Update** Umarex Zelos .25 With lots of EXTRAS

**UPDATE**
Now this package includes the 480CC Carbon fiber bottle. Unfortunately, I don't have a degassing tool so I can't degas the tank CF tank so I'll just throw it in. However, I did utilize a spare o ring so there will be no more spare o rings. More than fair trade off.

Original Post minus Strike though, and underline, and BOLD texts

$500 + $40 ship (You can add insurance if you would like). Not willing to separate. Selling my Umarex Zelos in .25 caliber. It is in very good condition. A few scratches (Pictured below) and from what I recall, 2 cross thread screws (1 per side) that holds the butt stock (Received with the 2 screws cross thread from factory). I also drilled a hole at the rear of the butt stock so I can access the hammer tension spring without removing the butt stock. Shoots quarter size groups at 50 yards with JTS Dead Center 25.39gr at 905FPS. Comes with some spare parts. See list below. NO SCOPE, NO SCOPE MOUNTS, NO GUN CASE (Comes in Zelos factory box, will double box when shipped), and NO CF Bottle (You will get the bottle valve fill nipple adapter from Airgunarcheryfun)

What you will get:
Zelos in .25
Aluminum Air tube
SnowPeak Bottle Valve fill nipple adapter WITH 480CC CF Bottle (When filling it is squeaky, but it holds air. When I received this from Wes from Airgunarcheryfun, the air gauge came scuffed but does not block you from reading the pressure gauge)
4 Big Air Precision Magazines (3 Pellets [One pellet prototype magazine which is black] magazine and 1 slug magazine,)
6 OEM Zelos .25 Magazines
Additional foster fitting caps, air regulator rubber covers, (I think I have additional o-rings for the aluminum air tube) , extra screws for the stock, (I think an extra end cap to protect the 1/2 x 20 UNF threads)
Bubble level that is double sided taped to the air gun
Bravo 3D Baffles (Already installed)
Bravo 3D Barrel band for the Aluminum air tube
GOGOGO Sports Pro Range Finder
Zelos OEM Box, tags, manual

AGAIN, NO SCOPE, NO SCOPE MOUNTS, NO GUN CASE (Comes in Zelos factory box, will double box when shipped), and NO CF Bottle (You will get the bottle valve fill nipple adapter)

I am only taking Paypal F&F or Goods & Services with you paying the additional fees. Message me with questions. Selling to fund another air gun. 🙃

Barrels  SOLD TJ's .30 600mm Barrel for FX Airguns

600mm TJ (CrMoly steel) with a custom high flow 485 marine brass barrel inlet. This barrel is match grade. Had to buy 3-4 blanks before I hand selected this one for my personal collection. 14.02mm OD will work with the Impact, Maverick, Wildcat, Crown, etc.

Chambered / throated the lead in with a 2 deg live-piloted reamer that I had custom made by PTG for the TJ's .30 bore/groove. Shoots obscenely well with a variety of ammo. 1/2-20 thread on the muzzle, bore was lapped and polished over 3 separate sessions with a slight taper (a few ten thousandths of an inch). I'll include some high BC 62 grain Varmint Knockers with this one.

Terms: 399 + shipping CONUS. No lowballers. Price is as firm as the barrel.

Taipan  Slash

Only saw short video on YouTube by a Czech guy had to subtitle in English- it struggled. But what impression I got was valving similar to Huben, but different, 2 safeties, auto load? Not sure what that was. Ballpark 60,000 CZD or about 2,500 U.S. Big number, if accurate, but you know quality is there. Hard value. I’m totally waiting for a detailed video for confirmation. But I’m amped for this one.

N/A  What is considered the “best”

If money was no option (within reason - meaning not $10k) what are the best high end springer/nitro piston air guns? I’m not looking for an Olympic gun but rather a traditional or semi traditional rifle that would be good for a mix of target and hunting.

I purchased my first pcp which is a Ghost HP but I also want to have a really nice piston gun.

With these things in mind, what do you recommend?
