Best bang for your buck Optics brand

My vote would be Arken Optics.

For the price point i don't think anything comes close, the warranty service is amazing. Great tracking, nice glass and also nice looks.

Before comparing optics, please dont compare high prices optics against mid priced optics. A fair comparison would be

Example:

Arken SH-4J 6-24X50FFP Vs Athlon Argos BTR GEN2 6-24X50

Rowan target trigger (installed plus original), one Daystate magazine, Daystate charger with two (2) extra batteries, fully adjustable aftermarket buttplate, custom fwd sling attachment swivel, set of Daystate keys. Ready for FT at a moment's notice. Rifle is in very good condition except for one scratch on bottom of air tube (see pic). No leaks, at all, recently serviced at AoA. Will provide well over 60 shots in hi power from a 200bar fill. It is extremely accurate with AA 10.3s at 18.4 FPE and everything works as good as new and LCD display works perfectly and is crystal clear. Second owner and have used this airgun in the local FT circuit for the past 4 years. Only reason for sale is reduction of inventory.

The airgun ships for $975.00 to an area where legal. Will cover 50% of shipping via USPS-Priority/Insured. Scope and rings are not included. Payment by PP, Check or USPS-MO. On the old "Yellow" a bunch of times, a few here.

N/A  Who here is New England Airguns? Aircuda?

I’m liking this as an option to use up some JSB Kings.
Besides that I want to know who owns NEAG, I’m wondering what else is out there that matches what the Aircuda gives. I personally love that it has a QD FF to fill. I don’t particularly like hand pumping probe fill ups on AG’s.

Airgun Technologies  AGT Vixen vs the Uragan 2 compact

Eyeballing these two as a research project. 22 cal version preferred. Vixen short vs Uragan 2 compact. Primary purpose is plinking / short range pesting if needed. I've owned NEITHER one. Looking for comparative feedback in regards to the basics. Loudness, power adjustability, I am aware the uragan 2 compact is probably stronger with the longer barrel. Reliability and / or durability. Is there really any disparity regarding these 2 platforms? Looks are fine to me for both, no issues there. Preferably folks who have used both, but all feedback, good or bad welcome. thanks.

N/A  First cold weather shooting

My first time shooting PCP’s in cold weather, mid to high 30’s. I had the Cayden, Bullboss, Flashpup wood, and a Flaspup synthetic out today. All four in .22 and all are tuned to shoot Crosman HP’s. They all shoot them really well. Except today. Shooting at 40 yds, the only one that did not require a re zero was the Synthetic Pup. It was a laser as usual. I love that little guy. Shoots like that and whisper quiet too( has the eBay 13 stack insert). The woody‘s velocity dropped off seriously, but it is getting a little long in the tooth, so to speak. Cayden shot 1 mill left, 1 mill low, and the Bullboss shot 1/2 mill high and dead center.
Once I got the Cayden zero’ed I decided to crank up the velocity to try some 18gr slugs for the first time. I have the Airgun Revisions tune kit in her, so the hottest I could get was in the 800-820 range For the slugs. This brought the speed with the Crosman’s up to the 940 range. I found it very interesting that both projectiles shot to the same point of impact at that speed and distance.Had I not been so stinking cold I probably could’ve put them hole in hole. It was nearly that as it was. The Cayden continues to amaze me at how well it performs. Now that I know she will shoot slugs like that I can’t wait to stretch her out to 100+. Might be a month or more before that happens though. If it shoots this well out to distance, I’ll try to post some pics.

Air Venturi  FX Impact M3 vs low budget Air Venturi Bullpup both in .22 cal at 50 meters

This test was done by a very popular spanish speaking airgun reviewer who owns a airgun store in Chile and also have a youtube channel called Caza 342 that use it to promote all the airguns he sells in his business. For this comparison test he used the same JSB 18 grains pellets in both airguns with the same 875 fps tune, to achieve this number he set the reg of the Avenger to 110 bar and the reg of the FX impact to 70 bar, in this country they call the Avenger bullpup the R-2. He used a range finder to measure the distance before, he start the test. As everyone can see, there is not much difference in accuracy between the two (in my opinion the group of the avenger was better) despite the huge difference in price and the FX been considered one the most accurate airguns of the market.

This post by no mean was done to start a war between the high end airguns vs the budget ones, its only to realized that it is not worth to have to invest so much money on a airgun to shoot at this relatively short range. Durring the test he even need to do two different 5 shots groups with the FX and hide one with his hand, because one of them was awful to make the comparison test more equitable between the two airguns. The two groups of the left side were done with the FX Impact and the single one in the right with the avenger bullpup, he was able to completely cover the Avenger group with a dime.

Is it worth the money? 9L SCBA Tank!

Noob here, no need to take it easy on me though. So, I'm pretty sure I kinda get how the whole 4500psi tank vs 4500psi gun thing works. I'll get one full fill and then progressively less air from the tank going into the gun with each fill. I just got the Umarex Gauntlet G30, and a Yong Heng.(Again........noob here.) which it says the bottle holds, and I quote "Max Tank Fill of 4,500 psi / 24 cu in". The regulator is at 2800psi, so I imagine I'll be filling from like 3000psi to 4000psi.(ish) Can anyone give me a general idea of exactly how much less you get in each fill? I'm trying to get an idea of exactly how many shots I'd end up getting from a 9L tank. I won't remember a math lesson hahaahahahaha! Just if anybody has anything comparable that they use and would like to share what they're getting that'd be great. Also my Gauntlet is stock. No upgrades yet.

SOLD [SOLD] DonnyFL 0.25 / 0.22 Sumo LDC / Moderator Carbon Fiber Wrapped w/ 1/2 UNFx20 Threads

Hello AGN:

I have an extra DonnyFL Sumo 0.25 / 0.22 LDC w/ 1/2 UNFx20 threads that I'm looking to sell. As you probably already know, Donny isn't selling any more of these for the foreseeable future so they're getting to be harder to find for the time being. This Sumo is in mint, like new condition and has been meticulously wrapped in an automotive grade carbon fiber wrap that looks great; even the front vent holes have been carefully pierced on the wrap. The CF wrap can be easily removed without leaving any residue behind if you don't want it). It has a 0.25 endcap so will work with 0.25, 0.22, 0.20 and 0.177 calibers.

Price is $125 shipped

I've got plenty of references here so please feel free to check them on the Member Feedback forum prior to purchasing. Paypal Friends & Family payment is prefered (otherwise, please add 3.5% to cover the fees). Local pickup in the SF Bay Area is available as well.

Thanks!

PCP Rifle  SOLD Western Rattler .357 700 bottle $1900

I am selling my western rattler .357. I bought about a month and a half ago from fox air. The gun functions flawlessly but is not comfortable to me. It has the 700 cc bottle. I have not changed the factory regulator settings and have changed the power settings very little.

I bought it for hunting but it’s just to heavy for my needs. (Scope not included)

Finally got him

I've been seeing a squirrel for a couple weeks. I last got one 11/4. I missed it a couple times because I was using one of my bullpup P35s, the shot was close, and I didn't aim far enough above it. One shot was only 13.5 yards away. I decided to switch guns not because the P35s won't work but because making the adjustment for close range with them is not something I am good at. I switched to my Prod. I hadn't shot a squirrel with it for about 2 years. It's scope is a lot closer to the bore so the amount it shoots low at close range is less and it gets to a level I don't have to worry about much sooner. This squirrel was pretty smart - I educated him. He would see me or hear my dog and start running to get across the street to a drainage area. Today I saw him out a side window, as I have before. My dog didn't see him so she wasn't barking. I let him keep going in fits and spurts towards my oaks in the back of my back yard. That let him get to where a miss would go out over the lake. But I didn't miss. He sat still for long enough and I hit him high on the shoulder. Chest was a mess, there was a hole in the opposite shoulder but I did not see the pellet. Might have passed through. Did not hit major bones. He dropped immediately. 16 ounce made. 17.5 yards at an upward 29 degree angle. H&N copper plated FTT launched at about 750 fps. It was raining so I took the pictures inside.

Has Anyone tried Joe Wayne Rhea's method for gun stock refinishing?

Watched this video yesterday in the hopes of refinishing my Royale, walnut stock. I want a high gloss finish on it. Yes, I'm aware of how popular Tru Oil method is but Joe's method seems a lot less trouble free & results are better than Tru Oil imho. Anybody done this? Please let me know your results. TIA
P.S. I'm NOT an experienced woodworker but am a "jack of all trades".
