Little shooting buddies

I've got two sons, Colben (9years old) and Cabe (5 years old).

When he was around 5 years old Colben started coming with me to field target match camping weekends. For the first summer he used this Benjamin Discovery....

PXL_20230503_000253184.jpg

The modifications to the stock are pretty obvious. Cut out a section and added some hardware that makes that section replaceable, or able to be omitted, effectively reducing the length of pull for a little guy.

Colben graduated from that DIsco after the first summer, and has been shooting a Vet Short for the last couple years. The kid can hold his own in a silhouette or field target competition. The DIsco got put away and has been shot very little for the last 3ish years.

Fast forward to two weekends ago. I'd been promising Little Red (Cabe) that he could come with Colben and I when he turned 5. And that first camping/airgun weekend happened. He came with, mostly just tagging along. He didn't shoot anything, but sure wanted to.

So on the Tuesday after we got back, I pulled the Disco out of semi-retirement. I took out the stock section and had to remount the scope. We got Little Red set up and dude was knocking down a rat on the run target at 30 yards within his first 10 shots!

I had to go back to work the next day, but he begged his mom all day to let us shoot that evening when I got home. All said and done we shot on Tues, Weds, Thurs, and Friday nights after work. I worked Sat and Sun, 14hr shifts so getting home long after dark. I'm back at work today, and my wife just texted me saying that Little Red has been bugging her all day about when I get home, so that we can shoot again. Shooting is about all he's talked about for the last 6 days. He's already talking about shooting in a match. If nothing else, dude is pretty persistent and quite enthusiastic about airguns.

Here's all three of us from one of those evening last week.

Tuning  A bit of help with tuning please

As the title says I need help. Been trying to tune my .22/600mm Panthera for days now. I am shooting 35gr NSA slugs, wanting them in the 965-975 range. I have tried about every combo of reg pressure to macro wheel to micro wheel i can think of. It will settle in nice for say 10-15 shots then it will start to jump the speeds all over the map. Sometimes as much as 15-20 fps. I am using the fx pocket chrony. I have the minimal return set to 10. I am about 400 slugs into it and getting frustrated as all get out. Please someone help. Thanks

problem with BRK Ghost 22 HP

I've been having a problem with my new Ghost similar to what @jasperjet is seeing. When I first received the gun it had some air in it so it wasn't leaking, great.
I dry fired it once just to see.. Loud, wow. well OK the reg was set to 150. I thought I try a couple of shots without doing anything. I ran a couple of patches through the barrel to make sure it wasn't dirty, they came out pretty clean. I put a SUMO on the end and loaded some JSB 26g pellets. Still wow loud and shooting at 1050+ on 18. Turning it down to 8 only got to 990's and down to min got down to 960's. I knew this thing was wasting a lot of air. I removed the tank, de-pressured and turned down the reg to what turned out to be 115bar. Back together and aired up and the first shots weren't much different still loud and 920's on min. So now I'm wondering if I need to change the hammer throw looking at @Franklink review. Well my hammer is not like his!
I didn't want to tear it apart at this point so I decided to shoot it for a while. I started shooting and the ES for 11 shots was 50fps. I put more air in (240) and the next shot was THUNK nothing?? I used a dowel to push the pellet out, nope not stuck, still in the breach, hadn't moved. tried again, same thing. I was shooting on MIN so I turned it up to MAX. POW speed back but only 960 or so. I shot a couple more and the speed and noise climbed back up. Something obviously wrong so I set it aside until I had more time.
Sunday I started taking the hammer out. De-pressurized just to be safe and took the barrel off to make it easier to work on. Well Crap nothing like Franklin's hammer. Someone said that the new guns have a 4 bolt back? Mine has 3. My hammer is 1 piece with no throw adjustment except for the 'L' bracket that is mounted in a V grove with 2 set screws, it can be moved but I have no idea how much does what. Now I get the spring and hammer out. What the heck is this? there is metal free floating inside the front hammer chamber that looks like 1/3 of a broken washer beat to heck. I can not tell what metal it is nor is there any other bits in there. No idea where the rest of that part ended up. Also the valve rod that the hammer hits looks a bit chewed up but I don't want to take it apart more.
At this point I don't think that is a stock part because there is no indication that it was ever attached to anything unless ti's part of the valve seat or something else in that part of the gun. Well I'm going to contact the vendor and see about getting an RMA and a new gun or refund.
FYI my hammer spring is .051 wire 1.98 inches long.

PCP Rifle  NLA WTS/WTT Huben .25 for a .25 Caliber Bench rifle (Crown, RAW, Taipan Veteran Long.. etc)

I have 6 rifles, all have a place, this is too powerful for any of my pesting permissions. This rifle took me to finals at the Northeast Airgun Classic back in april and shot 183-193 for cards, very very respectable! My first time shooting a 100 br as well. It is tuned for just under 70 fpe with 33.95 pellets and it loves them.

It will shoot MOA if you do your part.

I would like to trade for .25 caliber rifles only, something to turn into a dedicated bench rifle.

RTI Prophet, Raw , Crown, Taipan Veteran Long, Deltawolf, JSAR , will look at others, offer up worst I can say is no but I will say no to anything but .25 caliber.

Will Come in the plano hard case!

Will sell outright with case for $1475 shipped, and insured.

Paypal friends and family , feedback is flawless.

It is a used rifle, it is not perfect but it does show well for its age :)

RAW TM 1000 .177

Wow and wow - My TM1000 is just back from Motörhead’s lair and it’s a dream to shoot - pushing jsb 13.43’s at between 808 and 818 fps.
I love the way it pops! I put the action into a RAW chassis stock and saved almost 3 lbs.
I haven’t gotten it fully setup yet, like my cheek weld, but wow and wow. So far the Hawke Optic is rocking it and together we nailed a squirrel in the back of the head at 80 yards from my little bench - not fair at all.

Where on earth did the time go!?!

Was going over some old PM's looking up some info in discussions with other members when I saw the date / time stamp on some and it was like HOLY SH*T! That was 3 years ago? I remember it like it was maybe last year. Don't think so? Go access your PM's and scroll back to page 9 or more and see! Some will laugh, others will shake their head!

HW95 Caliber Conversion

I have a .177 HW95 that I am considering swapping out the barrel with a HW95 .22 barrel from Chambers. Is this a good or bad idea? Will there be any accuracy or fit and finish issues? The rifle is basically brand new, less than a tin of pellets through it. Tom tuned it for 15 fpe and it shoots very smoothly.

OR

Start all over and sell the tuned .177 HW95 and buy a new from the factory .22 HW95 and have it tuned?

Which is the best option?
