N/A  Gotta be on my 9th life now!

Got shot right between the eyes with the steel dead-head plug with 3500 psi behind it. Broke my glasses and lost one of the lenses as it went flying somewhere. This after bleeding the hose, or so I thought, after performing a leak check. Turns out I thought the quick disconnect was just stuck, because I couldn't get it loose to remove the dead-head plug from the hose end fitting, so I tried prying it with a screw driver and visegrip....It shot the plug straight out into the bridge of my glasses and knocked me out for a second. obviously the hose was still pressurized, even though the air in the bottle valve had been bled off???? The culprit was the nylon washer inside the fitting connection for the fill-whip on the bottle end; It had been squashed so tight, while trying to stop the air leak, that the hole in the middle was squashed shut, trapping the air in the hose at 3500 PSI.....I did not know that could happen.....my guardian angel is still working overtime.
I am realy getting tired of all the leak problems I constantly deal with on my compressor and guns. My comppressor wouldn't pump over 300 psi soo tried relacing the rings on the hi-pressure piston ....there is no ring gap, so couldn't get the new rings on, so i bought a new compressor, my third one. I got my 4 PCP guns out to fill, after a couple years of non-use and every one leaked...A first-gen FX Imppact .25, a Daystate Wolverine 303, a custom Quackenbush .50 and a cheap AT Nova Liberty .22. My squirrel traps have stoppped working too; only the smart ones are left.....they seem too know that none of my guns are working and have strippped my fruit trees and destroyed my ,vegetable gardens. I'm going back to real guns! They are more reliable and safer.

Taipan  Ugly/Beautiful

I haven’t posted much here of late but this seems especially worthy. Panthera 600 .22 has been my go to bench/slugger for the past 18mos. It shoots well and has proved reliable, so there’s no reason to dislike it. I guess I can say that the trigger annoys me some, but that doesn’t explain my souring on it. It’s something chemical.

I took a chance on replacing it with a Taipan Vet Tactical 2 long, in 22. A bit of a gamble because these days, I buy my .22 and .25s to work with my Altaros slug fetish, rather than the more conventional approach of finding the right slug for the gun. It’s an expensive approach, and I couldn’t find any info on the Taipan .22/Altaros fit, although there seems to be good results in .25.

I also understand that a good few people find it to be an ugly duckling. I get it, but to me it’s at least an improvement on the Panthera. It’s certainly nicer to handle and less things will be knocked over in my house. In any case, I’ll spare those of you with allergies from any pics of the Taipan.

Following arrival, barrel was cleaned and it was topped with a Vortex Viper PST Gen 2 in 25X, sighted in and chronied with Javelin 26g. It was running them at 960-970 on the stock tune. I set up a block of duct seal at 50y to check accuracy but it was not pretty - 2-3in spread. Cue that sinking feeling. I quickly grabbed the Altaros 32 grainers. Fortunately they were running right at their sweet spot of 890fps. The first good omen. Then, without adjusting the zero from the Javelins, the Altaros hit the (grain of corn) bullseye right away. Pure fluke but another good omen? The vet also felt and sounded better. Perhaps the 218 Javelins are a little too wide.

I cleaned up the target and placed 1/3 of a grain of corn as the bull and set about a group at the same 50y. First shot smashed the tiny piece of corn and #2&3 either went in the same hole (or I was sunk). Then the world’s unluckiest mouse popped up just behind my target. Omen #3? The perfect headshot let me know that 2&3 were likely in the same hole, so I returned to the target for two more. The last two were nerve racking shots but oh boy, that trigger is sublime.

Quite a start for the ugly Taipan. It’ll need to prove itself at longer range but so far, it seems very promising. It may be my first slugger that needs no tuning out of the box.

PCP Rifle  SOLD AGT Uragan 2, 700mm .22

Excellent condition, like new. Includes 2 magazines, AGT moderator, fill probe, AGT soft bag, AGT work mat. Will include some pellets as well.

Bought this recently from a well known/respected AGN member, who purchased it new from Talon Tunes in 12/23. Still tuned as TT shipped it, nothing messed with by me or the previous owner. Always wanted to try an AGT, and it did not disappoint in performance or accuracy. Like a lot of bullpups, the ergos just don't work well for me, especially off of sticks (the vast majority of my shooting in the last year or two).
Shoots JSB 25.4 grain MRD at 955 fps. Tried both the deep and shallow cavity varieties, along with the heavier Grands. All three shot well, but the "deep cavity" MRDs were best. Previous owner reports that it shoots great with Zan 30.5 grain, .217 slugs, but I did not try them.

Asking $1200 shipped CONUS. PP or local pickup (willing to drive a couple hours from northern Ky to meet).

Also have a scope listed here:
https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/sightron-s-tac-4-20x50-ffp-zs-ir.1317186/#post-1796224

If interested, would sell them together for $1550.

Not interested in trades, but open to reasonable cash offers. PM me with any questions, happy to discuss.

Kral Arms  Short and Sweet

This is probably the last Kral I will build. Parts are drying up with Kral making guns for other brands, and the customer service at Canada shooting supply has taken a nose dive as of late.

I ordered their last np01 25 cal barrel, an np03 breech I modified to a rifle trigger, and the np02 tube I got from @moodyblues.

Grafted a fore grip off some other gun, reximex or something like that. It fit the tube, but was busted in half so I used the front on this. Molded a butttock from a mauser stock I still had left and then carved/shaped to my liking.

Decided to go a different route on the finish and did an iridescent rainbow pearl over it. Some call it Galaxy paint.

Anyhow, the pics don't do the finish justice because the camera keeps trying to correct for the hue change.

Moderator is actually very good and is a Kral factory unit. Got this tuned for 700 fps for 20 shots with JTS 25.39 and they just stack and stack. It's almost boring to shoot lol. Well, a few sparrows found it quite shocking when I was out testing it before finish. It is super quiet and will probably get plenty of backyard pesting use.

Costly mistake in buying a pcp rifle

I have an AEA Challenger Pro .22 rifle. It is a great shooting gun and 6 months old. The O ring blew between the gauge and tank. I contacted the vendor, ie, Utah Air guns. They told me they don't work on AEA guns and to contact the Pellet Shop. I did and they sent me a new O ring but wrong size. I recontacted them and they asked where the gun came from. I told them Utah Air Guns. Pellet shop now refuses to send correct part or deal with it. Now I sit here with a nearly $900 gun, including extra clips, that leaks air. DOES ANYONE KNOW A VENDOR WHO WILL EITHER SELL ME THE NEEDED PART OR FIX THE GUN FOR ME IF i PAY ALL EXPENSES. I am aware that O rings are not covered by warranty. BUT, I now wonder,,, what if something actually serious went wrong with the gun since there is obviously no vendor support for repairs nor any warranty in spite of what is claimed. This has been going on now for 6 weeks. I am pretty disalusioned and likely will just sell the gun and forget the whole pcp thing. Also I have looked on line and see no video's in which I can learn how to change o rings or much anything else on most pcp guns. So what do you do when there is the eventual problem?

Umarex  Tuning the ZELOS Problem (SOLVED)

The ZELOS comes from the factory at 2000PSI regulator pressure and it can be turned up to 3000 PSI. When I turn it past 2500 PSI I get no increase in velocity. I would like to get my 25.4gr going 920 FPS but can only get a consistent 905 FPS. When I go to 2750 Reg Pressure the velocity goes down a bit to 890, the same velocity I can get at 2300 PSI reg.

Why does me velocity not go up between 2500 and 300 PSI? There is no HST adjustment that I know of on the Zelos. Is that the problem?

Once I increase the reg do I need to shoot it for a while for velocity to rise?

Diana  Is my Diana 34 worthy of a scope?

This summer I started “pest control” with a Diana Model 34 (circa 1998) air rifle passed down to me by my father-in-law. I’ve been impressed with the power and accuracy compared to the Daisy BB guns I grew up with.

I was having such success using just the iron sites that I figured I could get even more accuracy by adding a scope. I bought a Vortex Optics Crossfire II (4-12x40 AO). As soon as I installed the scope I started missing. I zeroed in the scope (several times) but it never stayed put. After several weeks of frustration, I removed the scope and started killing the varmints like before.

So here’s my question…Should my Diana 34 be worthy of a scope? Is it possible that a break barrel wears out to the point that the barrel doesn’t snap back into the same position each time? In my mind this would explain why I seem to be more accurate with iron sites. I’m not as young as I used to be, and a scope would help.

EDgun  Leshy build quality

What is the build quality of an EDGun West Leshy 2 like? The specific gun of interest is the 35 cal hi power. Specific questions:

- how is the barrel mounted to the receiver?

- is the receiver one piece or bolted together from many components like an FX?

- what parts are polymer?

- does the folding "back half" of the rifle lock up solidly to the front?

- does that quick mount for the Behemoth silencer make a stable, ridgid connection with the barrel?

- is the barrel a rigid steel component or a "liner in a tube held by spacers in a shroud"?

I'm asking this forum these questions because I have completely lost faith in the "airgun influencers" promulgating marketing points on social media. I would very much appreciate an owner taking his time to comment on how well satisfied he is with the Leshy simply because he has found something that delights him. Alternatively, I would appreciate being warned away from a steaming pile of over priced, shiny aluminum alloy crap even more.

Kind regards,

Mike

Kral Arms  Tormenta inbound

Oops. I slipped and fell on the BUY IT NOW button. Have been in need of a pick me up, and the timing was right on. KRALE in the Nederland was happy to take my card and was even careful about ID theft and fraud. I appreciate that after the runaround I got from those guys in Canada.

The package is a Reximex Tormenta in .25 with a couple of extra magazines, in synthetic. I have nothing against the Walnut stock, and may pick one up later just because. I already have a Kral .25 Knight that has done OK, but I feel that I have maxed out its potential. The Knight is quite large and a bit unwieldy for field work. The Tormenta should fill in the Airgun quiver nicely.

Glass is to be decided. Reximex claims 40fpe stock. I will shoot it before I change anything.

Arrives Wednesday.

Brocock/BRK  Ghost XR Carbine, Two, Three Shot Groups…

I am not a bench rest shooter as I lack the talent and discipline needed… What I do mainly with my airguns is plink and pest. To that end I’ve found through lots of shooting that three shot groups best represent my skills. And because I rarely get a second attempt on a missed critter, three shot groups work for me. Two groups at forty yards tonight after work, Ghost Carbine sending JSB Exact Jumbo 18.13s, bipod front, shoulder as rear bag.
IMG_1702.jpeg

FX  M3 600mm .25 lowest setting tune for maximum shots per fill

Here are 2 groups of 10 shots each from 30 yards (max distance where I'm at).
These are FX 34 gr .25cal pellets.
I prefer slugs but am looking for a minimal tune for max shots to plink in the yard.
My settings are 1 on the big wheel and 2.25 on the QTS

Reg 1 at 130 bar

I haven't gotten a full shot count on a fill yet but as soon as I do, I'll share it.

Do any of you have results you'd like to share for a minimum power max shot count setting? I love the group and the info here is excellent. Thanks for sharing and reading.

Why didn't fx think of this when they made the fx chrony?

So fx made the pocket chrony. Then they also made the chrony display. So why didn't they just make 1 product that read the speed and also display the speed? Each product cost $250. So that's $500. I was going to buy them so I don't need my phone but then saw the garmin xero c1. Like wtf. It's a pocket size chrony that will read your speed and also display it at the same time. Price is $559-600. So why the heck fx didn't think of putting both into a single product. Wtf is up with making 2 separate device? Come on fx. Well no brainer, garmin got my vote and money on this one.

Should i buy superior heavy if i already have slug A liner?

So I have a slug A liner in my fx impact 25 cal. I only shoot nsa slug cause I find it's the cheapest slug vs all the other slugs. I shoot 36 gr nsa. I have 10 boxes of them. My slug A liner does about 2 inches groups at 100 yards. When I say groups it's at least 5 shots to 10. Not 3 shots like some ppl doing. To me that is ok but I would prefer under 1 inch at 100 yards or is that too much to ask for. My gun is tune to shoot them at 960 fps and 150 bar. I was wondering would the new superior heavy be any better to get tighter groups with nsa slugs? The only video I see someone testing superior heavy vs slug A liner is ted. But he only tested with fx slugs and knock out. He never tested with nsa. Have anyone shoot nsa slugs from superior heavy and slug A liner can fill me in if I should folk up $110 plus shipping and tax for better groups. I don't wanna spend money and find out it is worst or the same. Then trying to sell it back on here and get low balls.

Taking an air rifle to Canada from US

Looking for some info on taking my notos to Canada from the USA.

I searched and the requirements aren't clear, I know i would have to declare it and fill out a form due to the foot pounds of energy and fps it shoots, but what about barrel length?

I've read rifles need to have a barrel length of 18", does this apply to air rifles as well? Any other advice welcome.

Pic for attention
