Epic  To H*** with EPIC

Epic Air guns shop emailed an announcement saying they had a Black Friday Special going until 11:59 on 11/29. I picked a rifle and put it in the basket but didn't immediately buy as I was still not sure about the barrel I really wanted and was doing last second research.
When I made up my mind, came back a couple of hours later at 8pm EST the price had gone up more then 310 bucks! the gun was still in the basket at the original discounted price and I thought Whew...but when I hit purchase...up the price jumped, at over 310.00...............delete sale
What kind of crap is this??? The sale was supposed to go 11:59 pm
Well, EPIC, you just lost a customer for good . Turning my attention to SKOUT and RTI

  • Question
N/A  Quick comparison of three 50 fpe plus pcp's, and a 22rf, at 102y.

Even though I've shot each one separately at 100Y before lately I wanted to see how these different guns and slugs stacked up in groups against each other. Actual distance was 102Y and the wind was 2-5 mph full value on 2nd day try.

Upper right groups were out of my Uragan King 25 caliber using 29gr NSA slugs/.075 G1 BC at 870 fps/48.75 fpe. Recently I reduced the power down from 925 fps for a different match format requiring sub 50fpe. Looks like I have some reg creep because the first shot would hit way low on day one and day two. The larger group was the day before and twice the wind. Just previous to the smaller 5 shot group on day two I shot a few shots lower into the steel to see how it'd do without them included. I wish this gun shot like the Vulcan 3 does all the time.

I like the King because it's a repeater and it'll do a hundred shots or so without having to refill. I think I better have it get new orings, reg rebuilt, and tuned. I'm considering trying it for a FullMonty 72 shot course at UFT.

The Vulcan 3 .25 caliber has always been a great shooting gun using Altaros 60gr Queen with G1 BC of .245 at 862 fps/99 fpe. Derrick Wall of Tenacious Airguns tuned it for me and he's a expert. It did the two left groups at approx 1". It pretty consistently does this. Only problem is I have to use this slug in the gun as a single shot only. I've won a few UFT matches in slug division with it. BC, BC, BC and man it knocks down those steel targets hard!!!

FX  FX Wildcat MKIII BT jammed

Good morning/afternoon. I just registered on the forum.

I saw similar threads about jammed Wildcat, but they are for a rifle that was used with hundreds of rounds and mine is just brand new.
Three days ago I have received a new FX Wildcat MKIII BT Sniper 0.30.
Two days ago I shot all 13 FX Hybrid pallets in the original magazine that came with the rifle.
Yesterday I have loaded a second magazine (that I purchased separately and it looks slightly different) to continue sighting the scope. After 4 rounds I could not press the trigger, so thought that maybe I did not load it with a pallet and tried to load it again and the lever got stuck in the backward position (almost perpendicular to the barrel).
I can not close the lever.
I can not close it using manual's technique: in Fire mode keep the trigger pulled and gently bring the lever to original forward position.
I can not remove the magazine, even if I pull the lever a little bit backwards.
When I switch to Fire and press the trigger it just clicks and nothing else happens.
If I pull the lever 5 mm backwards (till it can not move more) I can press the trigger again (with the click).
There is a chance that now I have two pallets in the barrel, but I'm not 100% sure.
The airtank shows 160 bars.
I feel disappointed, because I wanted to get this rifle for almost 2 years and it let me down so quickly.

Is this for real?

PCP Rifle  SOLD WTS/WTT RAW HM1000x .30

I have bought and sold so many .30 RAW rifles over the years as I just could not squeeze that last bit of accuracy I needed for 100 yard bench shooting.

This one is the one that changed that…..It is the best shooting RAW .30 I have ever owned (with the caveat the moderator matters, I tried over 24 different brands and types and the Sumo on this gun is the one). This is the latest model with no shroud and the threaded end cap.

I am the original owner and gun was tuned for right at 900 with the JTS 45 grain. It shoots absolutely lights out.

Only selling as I have decided the Monster Redesigns are the ammo I want to focus on for now and while I have a few .30 guns held back for longer range hunting, for benchrest I just seem to shoot my high power .22 Airguns better….

I think 1400 for the gun, sumo moderator, one magazine is more than fair and we can split the shipping cost.

would consider a RedWolf HP/Safari (newest board) in .25. FX Crown/Impact , RTI Prophet Performance, FX Boss, Kalibr Cricket (original .25), etc.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Airforce  Air Force Airguns the best for me

For years I bought, shot and sold close to 100 guns everything from 1322 crosmans to Edguns that cost over 3k and everything in between. I owned a Condor, Talon SS and Talon p. I had sold them. The conclusion I have drawn is Airforce airguns are the best gun FOR ME. I have come full circle and I’m all in on AF. They may not be everyone’s cup of tea. from a hunters point of view they offer a package that’s light weight, powerful, reliable, not super expensive, quiet in ss, nice hunting trigger, pretty darn consistent once you find the sweet spot, 3 o rings, lifetime warranty, US MADE, single shot? No problem because the squirrel will run off anyway if you miss, barrel won’t shift poi, no bs tuning just a knob, no regulator to creep, i can call and speak with a friendly rep, cheap to ship. I have bought AF back and sold all the garbage

Optics  SOLD SOLD: Falcon X50 FT 10-50x60 SFP X503FT

SOLD
Asking $600 shipped. Payment options are open depending on the buyer, but PayPal is the most common.

Selling my perfect condition Falcon X50 FT 10-50x60 SFP (X503FT) scope. I purchased it new directly from Falcon. It is the 503 model with the snappier focus. It ranges from 9 meters to 300 meters. It is a Japanese scope. Has a sunshade and objective flip cap, box, cloth, wrench. No eye cap included as I can’t find it. I can throw in a Discovery eyeshade instead.

I sold my Field Target rifle scope and need a different style scope for other rifles.

Items Lost, Broken, or Malfunctioned Afield - Airguns and Accessories

I like to hunt with my airguns and gadgets. I’ve used night vision, thermal scopes and scanners, spotlights, rifle mounted torches, tripods, bipods, backpacks designed for hunting and combat, and a variety of PCPs. I have hunted open pastures, hardwood stands, creeks and creek beds, thickets, new growth after woodlands have been clear cut, dammed creeks, in light snow and ice, in light rain and mist, in high humidity and heat, and all sorts of other terrain and conditions.

In the process of traversing varied terrain I’ve lost parts of accessories, airguns, and broken or damaged items. Using my gear afield actually lets me know what a thing is worth. Chances are, that’s why I bought it. So I was thinking if items that I use or have used that failed, didn’t work as well as I’d have liked, or just have nuisance parts and thought to detail them in a thread. If you’ve experienced a similar thing, let’s talk about it.

-Vector Optics flip-open ocular lens cover. This thing did not fit from the factory. I have several Vector Veyron scopes and this cover consistently comes off with light abrasion. If you’ve seen photos of this scope on any of my guns you may notice a piece of paper sticking out from beneath the cover. This was used as a shim to make for a tighter fit.

-Vortex Diamondback Binocular rubber objective lens covers. Over time the rubber looses elasticity as it breaks down and the rings that hold the covers on can slip off easier. I lost one of these covers in a thicket on a hog hunt I think.

-EDgun R5M magazine holder/magazines
This is actually a handy little feature of the gun if you’re going to the range, plinking around the house, pesting at a farm, or something. Afield I think it’s best to keep loaded mags in your pocket or secured in some sort of pack on your person. I’ve lost one pursuing a coyote in tall grass and I ran into a fence I needed to get over one night. I never found that mag.

-Sling mounts that connect to standard swivel studs. Check these before leaving the house and periodically in the field. They work themselves loose as the rifle swings. I’ve had a loaded rifle drop off of my shoulder and land on the butpad while afield in the night. Dangerous situation in my opinion. Thankfully the rifle fell on grass and brush.

-Primos Trigger Stick Bipod
I love this bipod. What I’ve learned is that these need to be cleaned periodically or the legs won’t always deploy simultaneously each time you press the trigger. This sucks when your trying to take a shot and find that your shooting rest is crooked because one leg didn’t fully deploy. I’m sure some field target guys know how to take these apart to clean them.

I’m sure there or more things that will come to mind later.

N/A  Need Advice on a PCP Purchase

Going to buy a PCP for a friend. I have a compressor, multiple 88 cu ft carbon fiber tanks and lots of extra scopes so let’s leave this out of the equation.

Haven’t been a buyer for a PCP for over 6 years so I’ve researched this site until I’m cross eyed and short circuited. The only thing I know for sure is that a lot has changed. Would greatly appreciate you experienced and knowledgeable folks sharing your advice.

Here’s the criteria:

ENERGY/POWER-Looking for something around 20 fpe (700 fps with 18.1 gr)

LENGTH-Prefer carbine (something around 36” overall length including moderator)

ACCURACY-He will only be shooting out to 20 yards and rarely to 25 yards. Need something that can put 10 shots inside a quarter at 20 yards. In other words, I am looking for a barrel that has legendary accuracy and do not want to play the Chi-com barrel lottery.

ERGONOMICS-He is a traditional firearm guy. Not opposed to tacticool but would prefer that the cheek weld not be on cold metal (maybe an aftermarket cheek rest?) and the forearm shouldn’t be a picatinny rail. Ideally, think along the lines of an FX Ranchero carbine or Cricket Mini Carbine.

CALIBER-Must be a .22 caliber

SOUND-Needs to be quiet or be able to be made quiet

SHOT COUNT-Would really like something that could get around 80 shots on a fill.

MULTI-SHOT-Need magazines that work or has aftermarket magazines that work well.

BUDGET-Would like to stay around $1,300 for gun only

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Brocock/BRK  Patience paid off again

I'm a proud owner of a BRK Sniper XR Magnum.......I've been watching the sale price for over 6months and I still refused to pay what they wanted.

Today, I looked and they dropped it another $200.00 so I snatched it up.

I'll admit, I have no patience waiting for my package to show up!!!!🥹🥲

Epic  Epic Two Barrels

I think after much consideration, I'll buy an Epic Two in .25. Guess I just have a soft spot for Czech made guns after owning a trouble-free Cricket for 11 years. But I'm having trouble deciding on barrels. I plan to shoot slugs and probably try for longer distances.

Anyway....after much reading, I'm thinking the 700 LW Polygonal in .25 for heavier slugs. I've seen videos where guys are shooting the 700 mm barrel for those 200-500 yard shots, (ha, in my dreams), but in .22 and using a CZ barrel

But MAN that's a long gun. I have a Cricket .25 and an Impact MKII .25 for occasional pesting, so length might be fine as I'll use the EPIC primarily for non-competitive bench. and playing with distance.

So questions....is the 700 mm more accurate than the 550? I know that it gives more power/speed
-Any known issues with the LW?
-I'm intrigued by the foldable stock. Not sure I need it and I lean towards fixed things for accuracy but since they went to all the trouble to design it....hmmm....(irrational I know). anyone have an opinion there?

Thanks for any input and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there.

PCP Rifle  SOLD WTS Bronze FX M3 25mm 700mm

Ok guys here is the thing with this gun. Myself and @ndwind are helping a fellow shooter in our area that is struggling with cancer. He has been dealing with this for a few years and he is in the final stages and isn't able to shoot much anymore. The rifle maybe has a tin of pellets through it, and nothing more than 2 tins for sure. If there are any questions please let me know and I will get you answers as quickly as I can.

PAYMENT METHODS - For this one it will be Paypal, up to you if you pay fees. Possibly a check though funds will have to clear before rifle is shipped.
SHIPPING - UPS or FedEx can be used. Haven't had good success with USPS, but if you prefer let me know. I will get a shipping cost once a deal is reached. Shiping can be discussed as well if it will be included in the final price or seperate.

RIFLE PACKAGE WILL INCLUDE
FX Impact M3 Bronze 25 cal 700mm.
Krawford and Lypt extended trigger guard.
Saber tactical cheek riser.
FX 30mm no limit rings.
Don't FL Fatboy moderator.
FX Pocket Chrono gen 1.
Bullet Central carbon fiber barrel tensioner.
Purchased new April 2022.
Due to health fired less than 500 FX pellets

There is an FX DonnyFl can, and Element scope in the pictures, but this will not be included.

Any questions please ask guys. The rifle of course shoots and is in as new of a condition as you can get without being new. The owner is very meticulous with his rifles and takes very good care of everything he has.

Would like to get this sold as quickly as possible to help out.

PRICE - $ 2000 and again shipping can be discussed
